21Later, Isaacיִצְחָ֤קyitz.ChakH3327prayedוַיֶּעְתַּ֨רvai.ye'.TarH6279to the LORDלַֽיהוָה֙la.Yah.wehH3068on behalf ofלְנֹ֣כַחle.No.khachH5227his wifeאִשְׁתּ֔וֹ'ish.ToH802,becauseכִּ֥יkiH3588sheהִ֑ואhi'H1931wasbarrenעֲקָרָ֖ה'a.ka.RahH6135.And the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068heard his prayerוַיֵּעָ֤תֶרvai.ye.'A.terH6279,and his wifeאִשְׁתּֽוֹ׃'ish.ToH802Rebekahרִבְקָ֥הriv.KahH7259conceivedוַתַּ֖הַרva.Ta.harH2029.
22But the childrenהַבָּנִים֙ha.ba.NimH1121inside herבְּקִרְבָּ֔הּbe.kir.BahH7130struggled with each otherוַיִּתְרֹֽצֲצ֤וּvai.yit.ro.tza.TzuH7533,and she saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶר אִם־ כֵּ֔ןva.To.mer 'im- KenH559H518H3651, “Whyלָ֥מָּהLa.mahH4100is thisזֶּ֖הzehH2088happening to meאָנֹ֑כִי'a.No.khiH595?”So Rebekah wentוַתֵּ֖לֶךְva.Te.lekhH1980to inquireלִדְרֹ֥שׁlid.RoshH1875אֶת־'et-H853of the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068,
23andיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068He declaredto herוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559: “Twoשְׁנֵ֤יshe.NeiH8147nationsגוֹיִם֙go.yimH1471are in your wombבְּבִטְנֵ֔ךְbe.vit.NekhH990,and twoוּשְׁנֵ֣יu.she.NeiH8147peoplesלְאֻמִּ֔יםle.'u.MimH3816from within youמִמֵּעַ֖יִךְmi.me.'A.yikhH4578will be separatedיִפָּרֵ֑דוּyi.pa.Re.duH6504;one peopleוּלְאֹם֙u.le.'OmH3816will be strongerיֶֽאֱמָ֔ץye.'e.MatzH553than the otherמִלְאֹ֣םmil.'OmH3816,and the olderוְרַ֖בve.RavH7227will serveיַעֲבֹ֥דya.'a.VodH5647the youngerצָעִֽיר׃tza.'IrH6810.”
