2But Abramאַבְרָ֗ם'av.RamH87repliedוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “O Lordאֲדֹנָ֤י'a.do.NaiH136GODיֱהוִה֙Yah.wehH3069,whatמַה־mah-H4100can You giveתִּתֶּן־ti.ten-H5414me,since Iוְאָנֹכִ֖יve.'a.no.KhiH595remainהוֹלֵ֣ךְho.LekhH1980childlessעֲרִירִ֑י'a.ri.RiH6185,and the heirוּבֶן־ מֶ֣שֶׁקu.ven- Me.shekH1121 H4943of my houseבֵּיתִ֔י ה֖וּאbei.Ti hu'H1004 H1931is Eliezerאֱלִיעֶֽזֶר׃'e.li.'E.zerH461of Damascusדַּמֶּ֥שֶׂקda.Me.sekH1834?”

3Abramאַבְרָ֔ם'av.RamH87continuedוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Beholdהֵ֣ןhenH2005,You have givenנָתַ֖תָּהna.Ta.tahH5414menoלֹ֥אlo'H3808offspringזָ֑רַעZa.ra'H2233,soוְהִנֵּ֥הve.hi.NehH2009a servantבֶן־ven-H1121in my householdבֵּיתִ֖יbei.TiH1004will be my heirיוֹרֵ֥שׁyo.ReshH3423אֹתִֽי׃'o.TiH853.”

4Thenוְהִנֵּ֨הve.hi.NehH2009the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the LORDיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068came toאֵלָיו֙'e.LavH413Abram,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, “Thisזֶ֑הZehH2088one will notלֹ֥אlo'H3808be your heirיִֽירָשְׁךָ֖yi.ra.she.KhaH3423,butכִּי־ אִם֙ki- 'imH3588 H518oneה֖וּאhu'H1931whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834comes fromיֵצֵ֣אye.Tze'H3318your own bodyמִמֵּעֶ֔יךָmi.me.'Ei.khaH4578will be your heirיִֽירָשֶֽׁךָ׃Yi.ra.She.khaH3423.”

5And the LORD tookוַיּוֹצֵ֨אvai.yo.Tze'H3318himאֹת֜וֹ'o.ToH853outsideהַח֗וּצָהha.Chu.tzahH2351and saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “Nowנָ֣אna'H4994lookהַבֶּט־ha.bet-H5027to the heavensהַשָּׁמַ֗יְמָהha.sha.May.mahH8064and countוּסְפֹר֙u.se.ForH5608the starsהַכּ֣וֹכָבִ֔יםha.Ko.kha.VimH3556,if youאִם־'im-H518are ableתּוּכַ֖ל לִסְפֹּ֣רtu.Khal lis.PorH3201 H5608אֹתָ֑ם'o.TamH853.”Then He toldוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559him, “So shallכֹּ֥הkohH3541your offspringזַרְעֶֽךָ׃zar.'E.khaH2233beיִהְיֶ֖הyih.YehH1961.”
