14Soוַיְהִ֕יvay.HiH1961when Abramאַבְרָ֖ם'av.RamH87enteredכְּב֥וֹאke.Vo'H935Egyptמִצְרָ֑יְמָהmitz.Ra.ye.mahH4714,the Egyptiansהַמִּצְרִים֙ha.mitz.RimH4713אֶת־'et-H853sawוַיִּרְא֤וּvai.yir.'UH7200thatכִּֽי־ki-H3588the womanהָ֣אִשָּׁ֔הha.'i.ShahH802was veryמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966beautifulיָפָ֥ה הִ֖ואya.Fah hi'H3303H1931.
15When Pharaoh’sפַרְעֹ֔הfar.'OhH6547officialsשָׂרֵ֣יsa.ReiH8269sawוַיִּרְא֤וּvai.yir.'UH7200Saraiאֹתָהּ֙'o.TahH853,they commendedוַיְהַֽלְל֥וּvay.ha.LuH1984herאֹתָ֖הּ'o.TahH853toאֶל־'el-H413himפַּרְעֹ֑הpar.'OhH6547,and sheהָאִשָּׁ֖הha.'i.ShahH802was takenוַתֻּקַּ֥חva.tu.KachH3947into the palaceבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Pharaohפַּרְעֹֽה׃par.'OhH6547.
16He treated Abramוּלְאַבְרָ֥םul.'av.RamH87wellהֵיטִ֖יבhei.TivH3190on her accountבַּעֲבוּרָ֑הּba.'a.vu.RahH5668,and Abram acquiredוַֽיְהִי־vay.hi-H1961sheepצֹאן־tzon-H6629and cattleוּבָקָר֙u.va.KarH1241,male and female donkeysוַחֲמֹרִ֔ים וַאֲתֹנֹ֖תva.cha.mo.Rim va.'a.to.NotH2543H860,menservantsוַעֲבָדִים֙va.'a.va.DimH5650and maidservantsוּשְׁפָחֹ֔תu.she.fa.ChotH8198,and camelsוּגְמַלִּֽים׃u.ge.ma.LimH1581.
17The LORD, howeverיְהוָ֧ה׀Yah.wehH3068אֶת־'et-H853,afflictedוַיְנַגַּ֨עvay.na.Ga'H5060Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֛הpar.'OhH6547and his householdבֵּית֑וֹbei.ToH1004with severeגְּדֹלִ֖יםge.do.LimH1419וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853plaguesנְגָעִ֥יםne.ga.'ImH5061because ofעַל־ דְּבַ֥ר'al- de.VarH5921H1697Abram’sאַבְרָֽם׃'av.RamH87wifeאֵ֥שֶׁת'E.shetH802Saraiשָׂרַ֖יsa.RaiH8297.
18So Pharaohפַרְעֹה֙far.'OhH6547summonedוַיִּקְרָ֤אvai.yik.Ra'H7121Abramלְאַבְרָ֔םle.'av.RamH87and askedוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Whatמַה־ זֹּ֖אתmah- zotH4100H2063have you doneעָשִׂ֣יתָ'a.Si.taH6213to me?Whyלָ֚מָּהLa.mahH4100didn’tלֹא־lo'-H3808you tellהִגַּ֣דְתָּhi.Gad.taH5046meכִּ֥יkiH3588sheהִֽוא׃hi'H1931was your wifeאִשְׁתְּךָ֖'ish.te.KhaH802?
19Whyלָמָ֤הla.MahH4100did you sayאָמַ֙רְתָּ֙'a.Mar.taH559, ‘She isהִ֔ואhi'H1931my sisterאֲחֹ֣תִי'a.Cho.tiH269,’so that I tookוָאֶקַּ֥חva.'e.KachH3947herאֹתָ֛הּ'o.TahH853as mywifeלְאִשָּׁ֑הle.'i.ShahH802?Now thenוְעַתָּ֕הve.'a.TahH6258,hereהִנֵּ֥הhi.NehH2009is your wifeאִשְׁתְּךָ֖'ish.te.KhaH802.Take herקַ֥חkachH3947and goוָלֵֽךְ׃va.LekhH1980!”
20Then Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֖הpar.'OhH6547gave his menאֲנָשִׁ֑ים'a.na.ShimH582ordersוַיְצַ֥וvay.TzavH6680concerningעָלָ֛יו'a.LavH5921Abram,and they sent him awayוַֽיְשַׁלְּח֥וּ אֹת֛וֹvay.sha.le.Chu 'o.ToH7971H853וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853with his wifeאִשְׁתּ֖וֹ'ish.ToH802וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and all his possessionsכָּל־kol-H3605אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834.
