1Ifכִּי־ki-H3588oneis foundיִמָּצֵ֣אyi.ma.Tze'H4672slainחָלָ֗לcha.LalH2491,lyingנֹפֵ֖לno.FelH5307in a fieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֑הba.sa.DehH7704in the landבָּאֲדָמָה֙ba.'a.da.MahH127thatאֲשֶׁר֩'a.SherH834the LORDיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430is givingנֹתֵ֤ןno.TenH5414youto possessלְרִשְׁתָּ֔הּle.rish.TahH3423,and it is notלֹ֥אlo'H3808knownנוֹדַ֖עno.Da'H3045whoמִ֥יmiH4310killed himהִכָּֽהוּ׃hi.Ka.huH5221,

2your eldersזְקֵנֶ֖יךָze.ke.Nei.chaH2205and judgesוְשֹׁפְטֶ֑יךָve.sho.fe.Tei.khaH8199must come outוְיָצְא֥וּve.ya.tze.'UH3318and measure the distanceוּמָדְדוּ֙u.ma.de.DuH4058from the victimהֶחָלָֽל׃he.cha.LalH2491toאֶל־'el-H413the neighboringסְבִיבֹ֥תse.vi.VotH5439citiesהֶ֣עָרִ֔יםhe.'a.RimH5892אֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834.

3Thenוְהָיָ֣הve.ha.YahH1961the eldersהָעִ֔יר זִקְנֵי֩ הַהִ֜ואha.'Ir zik.Nei ha.Hiv'H2205 H5892 H1931of the cityהָעִ֨ירha.'IrH5892nearestהַקְּרֹבָ֖הha.ke.ro.VahH7138אֶל־'el-H413the victimהֶחָלָ֑לhe.cha.LalH2491shall takeוְלָֽקְח֡וּve.la.ke.ChuH3947a heiferעֶגְלַ֣ת בָּקָ֗ר'eg.Lat ba.KarH5697 H1241thatאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834has neverלֹֽא־lo'-H3808been yokedבְּעֹֽל׃be.'OlH5923or used for workעֻבַּד֙'u.BadH5647אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834לֹא־lo'-H3808מָשְׁכָ֖הma.she.KhahH4900,

4bringוְהוֹרִ֡דוּve.ho.Ri.duH3381זִקְנֵי֩zik.NeiH2205הַהִ֤ואha.Hiv'H1931אֶת־'et-H853הָעִ֨ירha.'IrH5892the heiferהָֽעֶגְלָה֙ha.'eg.LahH5697toאֶל־'el-H413a valleyנַ֣חַלNa.chalH5158with running waterאֵיתָ֔ן'ei.TanH386thatאֲשֶׁ֛ר'a.SherH834has notלֹא־lo'-H3808been plowedיֵעָבֵ֥דye.'a.VedH5647וְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808or sownיִזָּרֵ֑עַyi.za.Re.a'H2232,and break itsהָעֶגְלָ֖הha.'eg.LahH5697neckוְעָֽרְפוּ־ve.'a.re.fu-H6202thereשָׁ֥םshamH8033אֶת־'et-H853by the streamבַּנָּֽחַל׃ba.Na.chalH5158.

5And the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִים֮ha.ko.ha.NimH3548,the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Leviלֵוִי֒le.ViH3878,shall come forwardוְנִגְּשׁ֣וּve.ni.ge.ShuH5066,forכִּ֣יkiH3588the LORDיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙'e.lo.Hei.khaH430has chosen themבָּחַ֞רba.CharH977to serve Himלְשָׁ֣רְת֔וֹle.Sha.re.ToH8334and pronounce blessingsוּלְבָרֵ֖ךְu.le.va.RekhH1288in Hisיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068nameבְּשֵׁ֣םbe.ShemH8034and to give a rulingוְעַל־ פִּיהֶ֥ם יִהְיֶ֖הve.'al- pi.Hem yih.YehH5921 H6310 H1961in everyכָּל־kol-H3605disputeרִ֥יב וְכָל־riv ve.kholH7379 H3605and case of assaultנָֽגַע׃Na.ga'H5061.

6Then allוְכֹ֗לve.KholH3605the eldersזִקְנֵי֙zik.NeiH2205of the cityהָעִ֣יר הַהִ֔ואha.'Ir ha.Hiv'H5892 H1931nearestהַקְּרֹבִ֖יםha.ke.ro.VimH7138אֶל־'el-H413the victimהֶחָלָ֑לhe.cha.LalH2491shall washיִרְחֲצוּ֙yir.cha.TzuH7364אֶת־'et-H853their handsיְדֵיהֶ֔םye.dei.HemH3027by the streamבַנָּֽחַל׃va.Na.chalH5158overעַל־'al-H5921the heiferהָעֶגְלָ֖הha.'eg.LahH5697whose neck has been brokenהָעֲרוּפָ֥הha.'a.ru.FahH6202,

7and they shall declareוְעָנ֖וּ וְאָמְר֑וּve.'a.Nu ve.'a.me.RuH6030 H559, “Our handsיָדֵ֗ינוּya.Dei.nuH3027did notלֹ֤אlo'H3808shedשָֽׁפְכוּ֙sha.fe.khahH8210אֶת־'et-H853thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088bloodהַדָּ֣םha.DamH1818,nor didלֹ֥אlo'H3808our eyesוְעֵינֵ֖ינוּve.'ei.Nei.nuH5869see itרָאֽוּ׃ra.'UH7200.

8Accept this atonementכַּפֵּר֩ka.PerH3722,O LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,for Your peopleלְעַמְּךָ֨le.'a.me.KhaH5971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֤לYis.ra.'ElH3478whomאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834You have redeemedפָּדִ֙יתָ֙pa.Di.taH6299,and do notוְאַל־ve.'al-H408holdתִּתֵּן֙ti.TenH5414the shedding of innocentנָקִ֔יna.KiH5355bloodדָּ֣םdamH1818againstבְּקֶ֖רֶבbe.Ke.revH7130themעַמְּךָ֣ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל'a.me.Kha Yis.ra.'ElH5971 H3478.”And the bloodshedהַדָּֽם׃ha.DamH1818will be atoned forוְנִכַּפֵּ֥רve.nik.ka.PerH3722.

9So youוְאַתָּ֗הve.'a.TahH859shall purgeתְּבַעֵ֛רte.va.'ErH1197from among youמִקִּרְבֶּ֑ךָmi.kir.Be.chaH7130the guilt of shedding innocentהַנָּקִ֖יha.na.KiH5355bloodהַדָּ֥םha.DamH1818,sinceכִּֽי־ki-H3588you have doneתַעֲשֶׂ֥הta.'a.SehH6213what is rightהַיָּשָׁ֖רhai.ya.SharH3477in the eyesבְּעֵינֵ֥יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the LORDיְהוָֽה׃ סYah.wehH3068.
