18As the Arameans came downוַיֵּרְדוּ֮vai.ye.re.DuH3381against himאֵלָיו֒'e.LavH413,Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֤ע'e.li.Sha'H477prayedוַיִּתְפַּלֵּ֨לvai.yit.pa.LelH6419toאֶל־'el-H413the LORDיְהוָה֙ וַיֹּאמַ֔רYah.weh vai.yo.MarH3068 H559, “Pleaseנָ֥אna'H4994אֶת־'et-H853strikeהַךְ־hakh-H5221theseהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088peopleהַגּוֹי־ha.goy-H1471with blindnessבַּסַּנְוֵרִ֑יםba.san.ve.RimH5575.”So He struck themוַיַּכֵּ֥םvai.ya.KemH5221with blindnessבַּסַּנְוֵרִ֖יםba.san.ve.RimH5575,according to the wordכִּדְבַ֥רkid.VarH1697of Elishaאֱלִישָֽׁע׃'e.li.Sha'H477.

19And Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֗ע'e.li.Sha'H477toldוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559themאֲלֵהֶ֜ם'a.le.HemH413, “Thisזֶ֣הzehH2088is notלֹ֣אlo'H3808the wayהַדֶּרֶךְ֮ha.de.reKhH1870,and thisזֹ֣הzohH2090is notוְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808the cityהָעִיר֒ha.'IrH5892.Followלְכ֣וּle.KhuH1980אֶתְכֶ֔ם'et.KhemH853meאַחֲרַ֔י'a.cha.RaiH310,and I will takeוְאוֹלִ֣יכָהve.'o.Li.khahH1980you toאֶל־'el-H413the manהָאִ֖ישׁha.'IshH376אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834you are seekingתְּבַקֵּשׁ֑וּןte.va.ke.ShunH1245.”And he ledוַיֹּ֥לֶךְvai.Yo.lekhH1980themאוֹתָ֖ם'o.TamH853to Samariaשֹׁמְרֽוֹנָה׃sho.me.Ro.nahH8111.

20וַיְהִי֮vay.HiH1961When they had enteredכְּבֹאָ֣םke.vo.'AmH935Samariaשֹׁמְרוֹן֒sho.me.rOnH8111,Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֔ע'e.li.Sha'H477saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “O LORDיְהוָ֕הYah.wehH3068,openפְּקַ֥חpe.KachH6491אֶת־'et-H853the eyesעֵינֵֽי־'ei.nei-H5869of theseאֵ֖לֶּה'E.lehH428menthat they may seeוְיִרְא֑וּve.yir.'UH7200.”Then the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068אֶת־'et-H853openedוַיִּפְקַ֤חvai.yif.KachH6491their eyesעֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔ם'ei.nei.HemH5869,and they looked aroundוַיִּרְא֕וּvai.yir.'UH7200and discovered thatוְהִנֵּ֖הve.hi.NehH2009they were inבְּת֥וֹךְbe.TokhH8432Samariaשֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃sho.me.RonH8111.

21And when the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478sawכִּרְאֹת֖וֹkir.'o.ToH7200themאוֹתָ֑ם'o.TamH853,he askedוַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֶל־vai.Yo.mer 'el-H559 H413Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֔ע'e.li.Sha'H477, “My fatherאָבִֽי׃'a.ViH1,shall I killהַאַכֶּ֥הha.'a.KehH5221them?Shall I killאַכֶּ֖ה'a.KehH5221them?”

22“Do notלֹ֣אlo'H3808kill themתַכֶּ֔הta.KehH5221,”he repliedוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559. “Would youאַתָּ֣ה'a.TahH859killמַכֶּ֑הma.KehH5221thoseהַאֲשֶׁ֥רha.'a.SherH834you have capturedשָׁבִ֛יתָsha.Vi.taH7617with your own swordבְּחַרְבְּךָ֥be.char.be.KhaH2719or bowוּֽבְקַשְׁתְּךָ֖u.ve.kash.te.ChaH7198?Setשִׂים֩simH7760foodלֶ֨חֶםLe.chemH3899and waterוָמַ֜יִםva.Ma.yimH4325before themלִפְנֵיהֶ֗םlif.nei.HemH6440,that they may eatוְיֹֽאכְלוּ֙ve.yo.khe.LuH398and drinkוְיִשְׁתּ֔וּve.yish.TuH8354and then returnוְיֵלְכ֖וּve.ye.le.KhuH1980toאֶל־'el-H413their masterאֲדֹנֵיהֶֽם׃'a.do.nei.HemH113.”
