1 Kings 15:8-24
8And AbijamH38 slept with his fathersH1; and they buriedH6912 him in the cityH5892 of DavidH1732: and AsaH609 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his stead.
9And in the twentieth yearH8141 of JeroboamH3379 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 began AsaH609 to reignH4427 over JudahH3063. 10And fortyH705 and oneH259 yearsH8141 reignedH4427 he in JerusalemH3389: and his mother’sH517 nameH8034 was MaacahH4601 the daughterH1323 of AbishalomH53. 11And AsaH609 did that which was rightH3477 in the eyesH5869 of Jehovah, as did DavidH1732 his fatherH1. 12And he put awayH5493 the sodomites out of the landH776, and removedH5493 all the idolsH1544 that his fathersH1 had madeH6213. 13And alsoH1571 MaacahH4601 his motherH517 he removedH5493 from being queen, because she had madeH6213 an abominable imageH4656 for an AsherahH842; and AsaH609 cutH3772 down her imageH4656, and burnt it at the brook KidronH6939. 14But the highH1116 placesH1116 wereH1961 not taken awayH5493: nevertheless the heartH3824 of AsaH609 wasH1961 perfectH8003 with Jehovah all his daysH3117. 15And he broughtH935 into the houseH1004 of Jehovah the thingsH6944 that his fatherH1 had dedicated, and the thingsH6944 that himself had dedicated, silverH3701, and goldH2091, and vesselsH3627.
16And there wasH1961 warH4421 between AsaH609 and BaashaH1201 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 all their daysH3117. 17And BaashaH1201 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 wentH3318 up against JudahH3063, and builtH1129 RamahH7414, that he might not suffer any one to goH3318 out or comeH935 in to AsaH609 kingH4428 of JudahH3063. 18Then AsaH609 tookH3947 all the silverH3701 and the goldH2091 that were leftH3498 in the treasuresH214 of the houseH1004 of Jehovah, and the treasuresH214 of the king’sH4428 houseH1004, and delivered them into the handH3027 of his servantsH5650; and kingH4428 AsaH609 sentH7971 them to Ben-hadadH1130, the sonH1121 of Tabrimmon, the sonH1121 of Hezion, kingH4428 of Syria, that dweltH3427 at DamascusH1834, sayingH559, 19There is a league between me and thee, between my fatherH1 and thy fatherH1: behold, I have sentH7971 unto thee a present of silverH3701 and goldH2091; goH5927, breakH6565 thy league with BaashaH1201 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, that he may depart from me. 20And Ben-hadadH1130 hearkened unto kingH4428 AsaH609, and sentH7971 the captains of his armiesH2428 against the citiesH5892 of IsraelH3478, and smote IjonH5859, and DanH1835, and Abel-beth-maacahH62, and all Chinneroth, with all the landH776 of NaphtaliH5321. 21And it came to pass, when BaashaH1201 heardH8085 thereof, that he left off buildingH1129 RamahH7414, and dweltH3427 in TirzahH8656. 22Then kingH4428 AsaH609 made a proclamation unto all JudahH3063; none was exempted: and they carriedH5375 awayH5375 the stonesH68 of RamahH7414, and the timber thereof, wherewith BaashaH1201 had builded; and kingH4428 AsaH609 builtH1129 therewith GebaH1387 of BenjaminH1144, and MizpahH4709.
23Now the restH3499 of all the acts of AsaH609, and all his might, and all that he did, and the citiesH5892 which he builtH1129, are they not writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of the chronicles of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063? But in the timeH6256 of his oldH2209 age he was diseased in his feetH7272. 24And AsaH609 slept with his fathersH1, and was buriedH6912 with his fathersH1 in the cityH5892 of DavidH1732 his fatherH1; and JehoshaphatH3092 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his stead.
