Ezekiel 33:1-16

1And the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 cameH1961 unto meH413, sayingH559,

2SonH1121 of manH376, speakH1696 to the childrenH1121 of thy peopleH5971, and sayH559 unto them, When I bringH935 the swordH2719 uponH5921 a landH776, ifH3588 the peopleH5971 of the landH776 takeH3947 a manH376 from among them, and setH5414 him for their watchmanH6822:

3ifH7200, when he seeth the swordH2719 comeH935 uponH5921 the landH776, he blowH8628 the trumpetH7782, and warnH2094 the peopleH5971;

4then whosoever heareth the soundH6963 of the trumpetH7782, and taketh notH3808 warning, ifH1961 the swordH2719 comeH935, and takeH3947 him awayH3947, his bloodH1818 shall be uponH935 his ownH1961 headH7218.

5He heardH8085 the soundH6963 of the trumpetH7782, and tookH853 notH3808 warning; his bloodH1818 shall be uponH1961 him: whereas ifH1961 he had takenH1961 warning he should have deliveredH4422 his soulH5315.

6But ifH3588 the watchmanH6822 seeH7200 the swordH2719 comeH935, and blowH8628 notH3808 the trumpetH7782, and the peopleH5971 be notH3808 warnedH2094, and the swordH2719 comeH935, and takeH3947 anyH3588 personH5315 from among them; he is takenH3947 awayH3947 in his iniquityH5771, but his bloodH1818 will I requireH1875 at the watchman’sH6822 handH3027.

7SoH4480 thou, sonH1121 of manH120, I have setH5414 thee a watchmanH6822 unto the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478; therefore hearH8085 the wordH1697 at my mouthH6310, and giveH5414 them warning from meH5414.

8When I sayH559 unto the wickedH7563, O wickedH7563 manH7563, thou shalt surelyH4191 dieH4191, and thou dost notH3808 speakH1696 to warnH2094 the wickedH7563 from his wayH1870; that wickedH7563 manH7563 shall dieH4191 in his iniquityH5771, but his bloodH1818 will I requireH1245 at thine handH3027.

9NeverthelessH3588, ifH3588 thou warnH2094 the wickedH7563 of his wayH1870 to turnH7725 from it, and he turnH7725 notH3808 from his wayH1870; he shall dieH4191 in his iniquityH5771, but thou hast deliveredH5337 thy soulH5315.

10And thou, sonH1121 of manH120, sayH559 unto the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478: ThusH3651 ye speakH559, sayingH559, Our transgressionsH6588 and our sinsH2403 are uponH5921 usH413, and weH587 pine awayH4743 in them; howH349 then should weH587 liveH2421?

11SayH559 unto them, As I liveH2421, saith the LordH136 GODH136, I have noH518 pleasureH2654 in the deathH4191 of the wickedH7563; but that the wickedH7563 turnH7725 from his wayH1870 and liveH2421: turnH7725 ye, turnH7725 ye from your evilH7451 waysH1870; for whyH4100 will ye dieH4191, O houseH1004 of IsraelH3478?

12And thou, sonH1121 of manH120, sayH559 unto the childrenH1121 of thy peopleH5971, The righteousnessH6666 of the righteousH6662 shall notH3808 deliverH5337 him in the dayH3117 of his transgressionH6588; and as for the wickednessH7562 of the wickedH7563, he shall notH3808 fallH3782 thereby in the dayH3117 that he turneth from his wickednessH7562: neitherH3808 shall he that is righteousH6662 be ableH3201 to liveH2421 thereby in the dayH3117 that he sinneth.

13When I sayH559 to the righteousH6662, that he shall surelyH4191 liveH2421; ifH834 he trustH982 to his righteousnessH6666, and commit iniquityH5766, noneH3808 of his righteousH6662 deedsH6666 shall be rememberedH2142; but in his iniquityH5766 that he hath committedH6213, therein shall he dieH4191.

14AgainH7725, when I sayH559 unto the wickedH7563, Thou shalt surelyH4191 dieH4191; if he turnH7725 from his sinH2403, and doH6213 that which is lawful and rightH4941;

15if the wickedH7563 restoreH7725 the pledgeH2258, giveH7725 againH7725 that he had takenH1500 by robberyH1500, walkH1980 in the statutesH2708 of lifeH2416, committingH6213 noH3808 iniquityH5766; he shall surelyH4191 liveH2421, he shall notH3808 dieH4191.

16NoneH3808 of his sinsH2398 that he hath committedH2398 shall be rememberedH2142 againstH2398 him: he hath doneH6213 that whichH834 is lawful and rightH4941; he shall surelyH834 liveH2421.
