Samuel 30:1-18

And it cameH935 to passH935, when DavidH1732 and his menH376 were comeH935 to ZiklagH6860 on the thirdH7992 dayH3117, that the AmalekitesH6003 had madeH6584 a raidH6584 uponH935 the SouthH5045, and uponH935 ZiklagH6860, and had smittenH5221 ZiklagH6860, and burnedH8313 it with fireH784;

and had takenH7617 captiveH7617 the womenH802 and allH5704 that were therein, bothH4191 smallH6996 and greatH1419: they slew notH3808 anyH376, but carriedH7617 them offH7617, and wentH376 their wayH1870.

And when DavidH1732 and his menH376 cameH935 to the cityH5892, beholdH2009, it was burnedH8313 with fireH784; and their wivesH802, and their sonsH1121, and their daughtersH1323, were takenH7617 captivesH7617.

Then DavidH1732 and the peopleH5971 that were with him liftedH5375 upH5375 their voiceH6963 and weptH1058, untilH5704 they had noH369 moreH369 powerH3581 to weepH1058.

And David’sH1732 twoH8147 wivesH802 were takenH7617 captivesH7617, AhinoamH293 the JezreelitessH3159, and AbigailH26 the wifeH802 of NabalH5037 the CarmeliteH3761.

And DavidH1732 was greatlyH3966 distressed; for the peopleH5971 spake of stoningH5619 him, becauseH3588 the soulH5315 of allH3605 the peopleH5971 was grieved, everyH3605 manH376 for his sonsH1121 and for his daughtersH1323: but DavidH1732 strengthenedH2388 himselfH5315 in the LORDH3068 his GodH430.

And DavidH1732 saidH559 to AbiatharH54 the priestH3548, the sonH1121 of AhimelechH288, I prayH4994 thee, bringH5066 meH413 hither the ephodH646. And AbiatharH54 broughtH5066 thither the ephodH646 to DavidH1732.

And DavidH1732 inquiredH7592 of the LORDH3068, sayingH559, IfH3588 I pursueH7291 afterH310 this troopH1416, shall I overtakeH5381 them? And he answeredH559 him, PursueH7291: for thou shalt surelyH3588 overtakeH5381 them, and shalt without fail recoverH5337 allH5337.

SoH834 DavidH1732 wentH935, he and the sixH8337 hundredH3967 menH376 that were with him, and cameH935 to the brookH5158 BesorH1308, whereH834 thoseH834 that were leftH3498 behindH3498 stayedH5975.

But DavidH1732 pursuedH7291, he and fourH702 hundredH3967 menH376: for twoH3967 hundredH3967 stayedH5975 behind, whichH834 were soH834 faint that they couldH376 notH1732 goH5674 over the brookH5158 BesorH1308:

And they foundH4672 an EgyptianH4713 in the fieldH7704, and broughtH3947 him to DavidH1732, and gaveH5414 him breadH3899, and he didH376 eatH398; and they gaveH5414 him waterH4325 to drinkH8248:

And they gaveH5414 him a pieceH6400 of a cakeH1690 of figsH1690, and twoH8147 clustersH6778 of raisinsH6778; and when he had eatenH398, his spiritH7307 cameH413 againH7725 to him: for he had eatenH398 noH3808 breadH3899, norH3808 drunkH8354 anyH5414 waterH4325, threeH7969 daysH3117 and threeH7969 nightsH3915.

And DavidH1732 saidH559 unto him, To whomH4310 belongest thou? and whence art thou? And he saidH559, I am a youngH5288 manH376 of EgyptH4713, servantH5650 to an AmalekiteH6003; and my masterH113 leftH5800 meH5650, becauseH3588 threeH7969 daysH3117 agone I fell sickH2470.

WeH587 madeH6584 a raidH6584 uponH5921 the SouthH5045 of the CherethitesH3774, and uponH5921 that whichH834 belongeth to JudahH3063, and uponH5921 the SouthH5045 of CalebH3612; and weH587 burnedH8313 ZiklagH6860 with fireH784.

And DavidH1732 saidH559 to him, Wilt thou bringH3381 meH413 downH3381 to this troopH1416? And he saidH559, SwearH7650 unto meH413 by GodH430, that thou wilt neitherH518 killH4191 meH413, norH518 deliverH5462 meH413 upH5462 intoH413 the handsH3027 of my masterH113, and I will bringH3381 thee downH3381 to this troopH1416.

And when he had broughtH3947 him downH3381, beholdH2009, they were spreadH5203 abroad over allH3605 the groundH776, eatingH398 and drinkingH8354, and feastingH8354, becauseH5921 of allH3605 the greatH1419 spoilH7998 that they had takenH3947 outH6440 of the landH776 of the PhilistinesH6430, and outH6440 of the landH776 of JudahH3063.

And DavidH1732 smoteH5221 them from the twilightH6153 evenH5704 unto the eveningH6153 of the nextH4283 dayH4283: and there escapedH4422 notH3808 a manH376 of them saveH4422 fourH702 hundredH3967 youngH5288 menH376, whichH834 rodeH7392 uponH5921 camelsH1581 and fledH5127.

And DavidH1732 recoveredH5337 allH3605 that the AmalekitesH6002 had takenH3947: and DavidH1732 rescuedH5337 his twoH8147 wivesH802.
