1 Kings 9:10-28

101Now it cameH1961 aboutH1961 2at the endH7097 of twentyH6242 yearsH8141 in whichH834 SolomonH8010 had builtH1129 the twoH8147 housesH1004, the houseH1004 of the LordH3068 and the king’sH4428 houseH1004 11(HiramH2438 kingH4428 of TyreH6865 had suppliedH5375 SolomonH8010 with cedarH730 and juniperH1265 timberH6086 and goldH2091, 3satisfying allH3605 his desireH2656), that KingH4428 SolomonH8010 thenH227 gaveH5414 HiramH2438 twentyH6242 citiesH5892 in the landH776 of GalileeH1551. 12So HiramH2438 leftH3318 TyreH6865 to seeH7200 the citiesH5892 whichH834 SolomonH8010 had givenH5414 him, and they 4did not pleaseH3474H5869 him. 13And he saidH559, “WhatH4100 are theseH428 citiesH5892 whichH834 you have givenH5414 me, my brotherH251?” So 5they have been calledH7121 the landH776 of 67CabulH3521 to thisH2088 dayH3117. 148And HiramH2438 sentH7971 to the kingH4428 9120H3967H6242 talentsH3603 of goldH2091.

15Now thisH2088 is the accountH1697 of the forcedH4522 laborH4522 whichH834 KingH4428 SolomonH8010 10conscriptedH5927 to buildH1129 the houseH1004 of the LordH3068, his own houseH1004, the 1112MilloH4407, the wallH2346 of JerusalemH3389, 13HazorH2674, 14MegiddoH4023, and 15GezerH1507. 16For PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714 had goneH5927 upH5927 and overthrownH3920 GezerH1507 and burnedH8313 it with fireH784, and killedH2026 the 16CanaanitesH3669 who livedH3427 in the cityH5892; and he had 17givenH5414 it as a dowryH7964 to his daughterH1323, Solomon’sH8010 wifeH802. 17So SolomonH8010 rebuiltH1129 GezerH1507 and the lowerH8481 18Beth-horonH1032, 18and 19BaalathH1191 and TamarH8559 in the wildernessH4057, in the landH776 of Judah, 19and allH3605 the storageH4543 citiesH5892 whichH834 SolomonH8010 hadH1961, that is, 20the citiesH5892 for 21his chariotsH7393 and the citiesH5892 for 2223his horsemenH6571, and 2425everythingH2837 that it pleasedH2836H2837 SolomonH8010 to buildH1129 in JerusalemH3389, in LebanonH3844, and in allH3605 the landH776 26under his ruleH4475. 20As for allH3605 the peopleH5971 who were leftH3498 of the AmoritesH567, the HittitesH2850, the PerizzitesH6522, the HivitesH2340, and the JebusitesH2983, whoH834 were not of the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478, 2127their descendantsH1121 whoH834 were leftH3498 afterH310 them in the landH776, 28whomH834 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 wereH3201 unableH3808H3201 to completelyH2763 eliminateH2763, 29from them SolomonH8010 conscriptedH5927 30forcedH4522 laborersH5647H4522, as they are to thisH2088 dayH3117. 22But SolomonH8010 31did not makeH5414 slavesH5650 of the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478; for they were menH376 of warH4421, his servantsH5650, his commandersH8269, his charioteersH7991, his chariotH7393 commandersH8269, and his horsemenH6571.

23TheseH428 were the 3233chiefH8269 officersH5324 whoH834 were inH5921 chargeH5921 ofH5921 Solomon’sH8010 workH4399, 550H2568H3967H2572, 34who ruledH7287 over the peopleH5971 doingH6213 the workH4399.

24As soonH389 as 35Pharaoh’sH6547 daughterH1323 cameH5927 upH5927 from the cityH5892 of DavidH1732 to her houseH1004 whichH834 Solomon had builtH1129 for her, 36he thenH227 builtH1129 the MilloH4407.

25Now 37threeH7969 timesH6471 a yearH8141 SolomonH8010 offeredH5927 burntH5930 offeringsH5930 and peaceH8002 offeringsH8002 on the altarH4196 whichH834 he had builtH1129 for the LordH3068, burningH6999 incenseH6999 with them on the altar whichH834 was beforeH6440 the LordH3068. So he finishedH7999 the houseH1004.

26KingH4428 SolomonH8010 also builtH6213 a 38fleetH590 ofH590 shipsH590 in 39Ezion-geberH6100, whichH834 is nearH854 ElothH359 on the shoreH8193 of the 40RedH5488 SeaH3220, in the landH776 of EdomH112. 2741And HiramH2438 sentH7971 his servantsH5650 with the fleetH590, sailorsH376H591 who knewH3045 the seaH3220, alongH5973 withH5973 the servantsH5650 of SolomonH8010. 28And they wentH935 to 42OphirH211 and receivedH3947 43420H702H3967H6242 talentsH3603 of goldH2091 from thereH8033, and broughtH935 it to KingH4428 SolomonH8010.
