Romans 8:5-39

5For those who are in accord with the flesh set their minds on 1the things of the flesh, but those who are in accord with the Spirit, 2the things of the Spirit. 63For the mind 4set on the flesh is 5death, but the mind 6set on the Spirit is life and peace, 7because the mind 7set on the flesh is 8hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, 8and those who are 9in the flesh cannot please God.

9However, you are not 10in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God 11dwells in you. But 12if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. 1013If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is 14alive because of righteousness. 11But if the Spirit of Him who 15raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, 16He who raised 17Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies 18through His Spirit who dwells in you.

12So then, brothers and sisters, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh-- 13for 19if you are living in accord with the flesh, you are going to die; but if by the Spirit you are 20putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14For all who are 21being led by the Spirit of God, these are 22sons and daughters of God. 15For you 23have not received a spirit of slavery 24leading to fear again, but you 25have received 26a spirit of adoption as sons and daughters by which we cry out, “27Abba! 28Father!” 16The Spirit Himself 29testifies with our spirit that we are 30children of God, 17and if children, 31heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, 32if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

18For I consider that the sufferings of this present time 33are not worthy to be compared with the 34glory that is to be revealed to us. 19For the 35eagerly awaiting creation waits for 36the revealing of the 37sons and daughters of God. 20For the creation 38was subjected to 39futility, not willingly, but 40because of Him who subjected it, 41in hope 21that 42the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22For we know that the whole creation 43groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. 2344And not only that, but also we ourselves, having 45the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves 46groan within ourselves, 47waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons and daughters, 48the redemption of our body. 24For 49in hope we have been saved, but 50hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? 25But 51if we hope for what we do not see, through perseverance we wait eagerly for it.

26Now in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for 52we do not know what to pray for as we should, but 53the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with 54groanings too deep for words; 27and 55He who searches the hearts knows what 56the mind of the Spirit is, because He 57intercedes for the 58saints according to the will of God.

28And we know that 59God 60causes 61all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are 62called according to His purpose. 29For those whom He 63foreknew, He also 64predestined to become 65conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the 66firstborn among many brothers and sisters; 30and these whom He 67predestined, He also 68called; and these whom He called, He also 69justified; and these whom He justified, He also 70glorified.

3171What then shall we say to these things? 72If God is for us, who is against us? 32He who 73did not spare His own Son, but 74delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? 33Who will bring charges against 75God’s elect? 76God is the one who justifies; 34who is the one who 77condemns? Christ Jesus is He who 78died, but rather, was 7980raised, who is 81at the right hand of God, who also 82intercedes for us. 35Who will separate us from 83the love of 84Christ? Will 85tribulation, or trouble, or 86persecution, or 87famine, or 88nakedness, or 89danger, or sword? 36Just as it is written: “90For Your sake we are killed all day long; We were regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37But in all these things we overwhelmingly 91conquer through 92Him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither 93death, nor life, nor 94angels, nor principalities, nor 95things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from 96the love of God that is 97in Christ Jesus our Lord.
