Romans 12
Dedicated Service
1Therefore 1I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to 2present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, 3acceptable to God, which is your 4spiritual service of worship. 2And do not 5be conformed to 6this 7world, but be transformed by the 8renewing of your mind, so that you may 910prove what the will of God is, that which is good and 11acceptable and perfect.
3For through 12the grace given to me I say to everyone among you 13not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to 14each a measure of faith. 4For 15just as we have many parts in one body and all 16the body’s parts do not have the same function, 5so we, 17who are many, are 18one body in Christ, and individually parts of one another. 6However, since we have gifts that 19differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to use them properly: if 20prophecy, 21in proportion to one’s faith; 7if 2223service, in the act of serving; or the one who 24teaches, in the act of teaching; 8or the one who 2526exhorts, in the work of 27exhortation; the one who gives, with 2829generosity; 30the one who 31is in leadership, with diligence; the one who shows mercy, with 32cheerfulness.
93334Love must be free of hypocrisy. 35Detest what is evil; cling to what is good. 10Be 36devoted to one another in brotherly love; 37give preference to one another 38in honor, 11not lagging behind in diligence, 39fervent in spirit, 40serving the Lord; 1241rejoicing in hope, 42persevering in tribulation, 43devoted to prayer, 1344contributing to the needs of the 45saints, 4647practicing hospitality.
1448Bless those who persecute 49you; bless and do not curse. 1550Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 1651Be of the same mind toward one another; 52do not be 53haughty in mind, but 54associate with the lowly. 55Do not be wise in your own estimation. 1756Never repay evil for evil to anyone. 5758Respect what is right in the sight of all people. 18If possible, 59so far as it depends on you, 60be at peace with all people. 1961Never take your own revenge, beloved, but 62leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written: “63Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. 20“64But if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
