Rulers Denounced

1And I saidוָאֹמַ֗רva.'o.MarH559, “Hearשִׁמְעוּ־shim.'u-H8085nowנָא֙na'H4994, youleadersרָאשֵׁ֣יra.SheiH7218of Jacobיַעֲקֹ֔בya.'a.KoH3290And rulersוּקְצִינֵ֖יu.ke.tzi.NeiH7101of the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478: Is it not for you toknowלָדַ֖עַתla.Da.'atH3045justiceהַמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃ha.mish.PatH4941?

2You who hateשֹׂ֥נְאֵיSo.ne.'eiH8130goodט֖וֹבTovH2896and loveוְאֹ֣הֲבֵיve.'O.ha.veiH157evilרָ֑עra.'ahH7451, WhotearH1497offH1497their skinעוֹרָם֙o.RamH5785from themAnd their fleshוּשְׁאֵרָ֖םu.she.'e.RamH7607from their bonesעַצְמוֹתָֽם׃atz.mo.TamH6106,

3WhoH834eatאָכְלוּ֮'a.khe.LuH398the fleshשְׁאֵ֣רshe.'ErH7607of my peopleעַמִּי֒'a.MiH5971,StripH6584offH6584their skinוְעוֹרָם֙ve.'o.RamH5785from them,Smashפִּצֵּ֑חוּpi.Tze.chuH6476their bonesעַצְמֹֽתֵיהֶ֖ם'atz.mo.tei.HemH6106, AndchopH6566themupH6566as for the potבַּסִּ֔ירba.SirH5518,And as meatוּכְבָשָׂ֖רu.khe.va.SarH1320in a cauldronקַלָּֽחַת׃ka.La.chatH7037!”

4Thenאָ֚ז'azH227they willcryיִזְעֲק֣וּyiz.'a.KuH2199outH2199to the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,But He will not answerיַעֲנֶ֖הya.'a.NehH6030them. Instead, He willhideוְיַסְתֵּ֨רve.yas.TerH5641His faceפָּנָ֤יוpa.NavH6440from them at that timeבָּעֵ֣תba.'EtH6256Becauseכַּאֲשֶׁ֥רka.'a.SherH834they havepracticedH7489evilהֵרֵ֖עוּhe.Re.'uH7489deedsמַעַלְלֵיהֶֽם׃ פma.'a.lei.HemH4611.

5ThisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559concerningH5921the prophetsהַנְּבִיאִ֖יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030wholeadH8582my peopleעַמִּ֑י'a.MiH5971astrayH8582: When they have somethingto biteהַנֹּשְׁכִ֤יםha.no.she.KhimH5391with their teethבְּשִׁנֵּיהֶם֙be.shi.nei.HemH8127, TheycryH7121outH7121, “Peaceשָׁל֔וֹםsha.LomH7965!”But againstH5921him whoוַאֲשֶׁר֙va.'a.SherH834putsיִתֵּ֣ןyi.TenH5414nothingלֹא־lo'-H3808in their mouthsפִּיהֶ֔םpi.HemH6310They declareH6942holyH6942warמִלְחָמָֽה׃mil.cha.MahH4421.

6Thereforeלָכֵ֞ןla.KhenH3651it will benightלַ֤יְלָהLay.lahH3915for you--withoutH4480visionמֵֽחָז֔וֹןme.cha.ZonH2377,And darknessH2825for you--withoutH4480divinationמִקְּסֹ֑םmi.ke.SomH7080. Thesunהַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ha.She.meshH8121will goוּבָ֤אָהu.Va.'ahH935down on the prophetsהַנְּבִיאִ֔יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030,And the dayהַיּֽוֹם׃hai.YomH3117will becomeH6937darkוְקָדַ֥רve.ka.DarH6937overH5921them.

7The seersהַחֹזִ֗יםha.cho.ZimH2374will beputH954toH954shameH954, And thedivinersהַקֹּ֣סְמִ֔יםha.Ko.se.MimH7080will be ashamedוְחָֽפְרוּ֙ve.cha.fe.RuH2659.Indeed, they will allכֻּלָּ֑םku.LamH3605coverוְעָט֥וּve.'a.TuH5844theirlipsשָׂפָ֖םsa.FamH8222Becauseכִּ֛יkiH3588thereH369isH369noH369answerמַעֲנֵ֖הma.'a.NehH4617from Godאֱלֹהִֽים׃'E.lo.HimH430.

8On the otherH199handH199,I am filledמָלֵ֤אתִיma.Le.tiH4390with powerכֹ֙חַ֙kho.achH3581--With the Spiritר֣וּחַRu.achH7307of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068--And with justiceוּמִשְׁפָּ֖טu.mish.PatH4941and courageוּגְבוּרָ֑הu.ge.vu.RahH1369TomakeH5046knownH5046to Jacobלְיַֽעֲקֹב֙le.ya.'a.KoH3290his rebelliousH6588actH6588,And to Israelוּלְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לu.le.Yis.ra.'ElH3478his sinחַטָּאתֽוֹ׃ סcha.ta.ToH2403.

9Nowנָ֣אna'H4994hearשִׁמְעוּ־shim.'u-H8085thisH2088, youheadsרָאשֵׁי֙ra.SheiH7218of the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Jacobיַעֲקֹ֔בya.'a.KoH3290And rulersוּקְצִינֵ֖יu.ke.tzi.NeiH7101of the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478, Whodespiseהַֽמֲתַעֲבִ֣יםha.ma.ta.'a.VimH8581justiceמִשְׁפָּ֔טmish.PatH4941And twistיְעַקֵּֽשׁוּ׃ye.'a.Ke.shuH6140everythingכָּל־kol-H3605that is straightהַיְשָׁרָ֖הhay.sha.RahH3477,

11Her leadersרָאשֶׁ֣יהָ׀ra.Shei.haH7218pronounceH8199judgmentH8199for a bribeבְּשֹׁ֣חַדbe.Sho.chadH7810, Herpriestsוְכֹהֲנֶ֙יהָ֙ve.kho.ha.Nei.haH3548teachיוֹר֔וּyo.RuH3384for payבִּמְחִ֣ירbim.ChirH4242,And her prophetsוּנְבִיאֶ֖יהָu.ne.vi.'Ei.haH5030divineיִקְסֹ֑מוּyik.So.muH7080for moneyבְּכֶ֣סֶףbe.Khe.sefH3701.Yet they leanיִשָּׁעֵ֣נוּyi.sha.'E.nuH8172on the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, “Is the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068not in our midstבְּקִרְבֵּ֔נוּbe.kir.Be.nuH7130?CatastropheH7463will not comeתָב֥וֹאta.Vo'H935upon us.”

12Thereforeלָכֵן֙la.KhenH3651on accountבִּגְלַלְכֶ֔םbig.lal.KhemH1558of you,Zionצִיּ֖וֹןtzi.YonH6726will be plowedתֵֽחָרֵ֑שׁte.cha.ReshH2790likea fieldשָׂדֶ֣הsa.DehH7704,Jerusalemוִירוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙vi.ru.sha.LimH3389will becomeתִּֽהְיֶ֔הtih.YehH1961a heapעִיִּ֣ין'i.YinH5856ofH5856ruinsH5856, And themountainוְהַ֥רve.HarH2022of thetempleהַבַּ֖יִתha.Ba.yitH1004will becomehighלְבָמ֥וֹתle.va.MotH1116placesH1116of a forestיָֽעַר׃ פYa.'arH3293.
