Micah 3

Rulers Denounced

1And I saidH559, “1HearH8085 nowH4994, you 2leadersH7218 of JacobH3290 And rulersH7101 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478: Is it not for you to 3knowH3045 justiceH4941?2You who hateH8130 goodH2896 and loveH157 evilH7451, Who 4tearH1497 offH1497 their skinH5785 from them And their fleshH7607 from their bonesH6106,3WhoH834 5eatH398 the fleshH7607 of my peopleH5971, StripH6584 offH6584 their skinH5785 from them, SmashH6476 their bonesH6106, And 6chopH6566 them upH6566 as for the potH5518, And as meatH1320 in a cauldronH7037!”4ThenH227 they will 7cryH2199 outH2199 to the LordH3068, But He will not answerH6030 them. Instead, He will 8hideH5641 His faceH6440 from them at that timeH6256 BecauseH834 they have 9practicedH7489 evilH7489 deedsH4611.

5ThisH3541 isH3541 whatH3541 the LordH3068 saysH559 concerningH5921 the prophetsH5030 who 10leadH8582 my peopleH5971 astrayH8582: When they have something to biteH5391 with their teethH8127, They 11cryH7121 outH7121, “PeaceH7965!” But againstH5921 him whoH834 putsH5414 nothingH3808 in their mouthsH6310 They declareH6942 holyH6942 warH4421.6ThereforeH3651 it will be 12nightH3915 for you--withoutH4480 visionH2377, And darknessH2825 for you--withoutH4480 divinationH7080. The 13sunH8121 will goH935 down on the prophetsH5030, And the dayH3117 will becomeH6937 darkH6937 overH5921 them.7The seersH2374 will be 14putH954 toH954 shameH954, And the 15divinersH7080 will be ashamedH2659. Indeed, they will allH3605 16coverH5844 their 17lipsH8222 BecauseH3588 thereH369 isH369 18noH369 answerH4617 from GodH430.8On the otherH199 handH199, 19I am filledH4390 with powerH3581-- With the SpiritH7307 of the LordH3068-- And with justiceH4941 and courageH1369 To 20makeH5046 knownH5046 to JacobH3290 his rebelliousH6588 actH6588, And to IsraelH3478 his sinH2403.9NowH4994 hearH8085 thisH2088, you 21headsH7218 of the houseH1004 of JacobH3290 And rulersH7101 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, Who 22despiseH8581 justiceH4941 And twistH6140 everythingH3605 that is straightH3477,10Who 23buildH1129 ZionH6726 with bloodshedH1818, And JerusalemH3389 with maliceH5767.11Her leadersH7218 pronounceH8199 24judgmentH8199 for a bribeH7810, Her 25priestsH3548 teachH3384 for payH4242, And her prophetsH5030 divineH7080 for moneyH3701. Yet they leanH8172 on the LordH3068, sayingH559, “26Is the LordH3068 not in our midstH7130? CatastropheH7463 will not comeH935 upon us.”12ThereforeH3651 on accountH1558 of you, 27ZionH6726 will be plowedH2790 like a fieldH7704, 28JerusalemH3389 will becomeH1961 a heapH5856 ofH5856 ruinsH5856, And the 29mountainH2022 of the 30templeH1004 will become highH1116 placesH1116 of a forestH3293.
