20And it happenedוַיְהִ֤יvay.HiH1961in the morningבַבֹּ֙קֶר֙va.Bo.kerH1242about the time ofofferingכַּעֲל֣וֹתka.'a.LotH5927the sacrificeהַמִּנְחָ֔הha.min.ChahH4503,that beholdוְהִנֵּה־ve.hi.neh-H2009,waterמַ֥יִםMa.yimH4325cameבָּאִ֖יםba.'ImH935from the directionמִדֶּ֣רֶךְmi.De.rekhH1870of EdomH112,and the countryהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776was filledוַתִּמָּלֵ֥אva.ti.ma.Le'H4390with waterהַמָּֽיִם׃ha.Ma.yimH4325.

21Now allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the Moabitesמוֹאָב֙mo.'AvH4124heardשָֽׁמְע֔וּsha.me.'UH8085that the kingsהַמְּלָכִ֖יםha.me.la.KhimH4428had comeעָל֥וּ'a.LuH5927upH5927to fightלְהִלָּ֣חֶםle.hi.La.chemH3898against them. And allמִכֹּ֨לmi.KolH3605who were able toputH2296onH2296armorחֲגֹרָה֙cha.go.RahH2290and olderוָמַ֔עְלָהva.Ma'.lahH4605were summonedוַיִּצָּעֲק֗וּvai.yi.tza.'a.KuH6817and they tookH5975their positionsH5975on the borderהַגְּבֽוּל׃ha.ge.VulH1366.

22Then they gotH7925upH7925earlyוַיַּשְׁכִּ֣ימוּvai.yash.Ki.muH7925in the morningבַבֹּ֔קֶרva.Bo.kerH1242,and the sunוְהַשֶּׁ֖מֶשׁve.ha.She.meshH8121shoneזָרְחָ֣הza.re.ChahH2224on the waterהַמָּ֑יִםha.Ma.yimH4325,and the Moabitesמוֹאָ֥בmo.'AvH4124sawוַיִּרְא֨וּvai.yir.'UH7200the waterהַמַּ֖יִםha.Ma.yimH4325oppositeמִנֶּ֛גֶדmi.Ne.gedH4480 H5048themas redאֲדֻמִּ֥ים'a.du.MimH122as bloodכַּדָּֽם׃ka.DamH1818.

23So they saidוַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559, “Thisזֶ֔הZehH2088is bloodדָּ֣םdamH1818;the kingsהַמְּלָכִ֔יםha.me.la.KhimH4428mustH2717haveH2717foughtH2717each other, and they have killedוַיַּכּ֖וּvai.ya.KuH5221oneאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376anotherרֵעֵ֑הוּre.'E.huH7453.Nowוְעַתָּ֥הve.'a.TahH6258then, Moabמוֹאָֽב׃mo.'AvH4124,to the spoilsלַשָּׁלָ֖לla.sha.LalH7998!”

24But when they cameH935to the campמַחֲנֵ֣הma.cha.NehH4264of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֒Yis.ra.'ElH3478,the Israelitesיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478roseH6965upH6965and struckH5221the Moabitesמוֹאָ֔בmo.'AvH4124,so that they fledוַיָּנֻ֖סוּvai.ya.Nu.suH5127from them; and the IsraelitesinvadedH935the land,killingH5221the Moabitesמוֹאָֽב׃mo.'AvH4124.

25So they destroyedיַהֲרֹ֡סוּya.ha.Ro.suH2040the citiesוְהֶעָרִ֣יםve.he.'a.RimH5892;and eachH376oneH376threwיַשְׁלִ֨יכוּyash.Li.khuH7993a stoneאַבְנ֜וֹ'av.NoH68on everyוְכָל־ve.kholH3605plotH2513ofH2513goodט֠וֹבָהToahH2896landחֶלְקָ֣הchel.KahH2513and filledוּמִלְא֗וּהָu.mil.'U.haH4390it. So they stoppedH5640upH5640everyוְכָל־ve.kholH3605springמַעְיַן־ma'.yan-H4599of waterמַ֤יִםMa.yimH4325andcutH5307downH5307everyוְכָל־ve.kholH3605goodט֣וֹבTovH2896treeעֵֽץ־'etz-H6086,untilעַד־'ad-H5704inKir-haresethH7025onlythey leftהִשְׁאִ֧ירhish.'IrH7604its stonesאֲבָנֶ֛יהָ'a.va.Nei.haH68;however, the rockH7051slingersH7051surroundedוַיָּסֹ֥בּוּvai.ya.So.buH5437itand struckוַיַּכּֽוּהָ׃vai.ya.Ku.haH5221it.

26When the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Moabמוֹאָ֔בmo.'AvH4124sawוַיַּרְא֙vai.yaR'H7200that the battleהַמִּלְחָמָ֑הha.mil.cha.MahH4421was tooמִמֶּ֖נּוּmi.Me.nuH4480fierceחָזַ֥קcha.ZakH2388for him, he tookוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947with him sevenשְׁבַע־she.va'-H7651hundredמֵא֨וֹתme.'otH3967menאִ֜ישׁ'ishH376who drewשֹׁ֣לֵֽףSho.lefH8025swordsחֶ֗רֶבChe.revH2719,to breakלְהַבְקִ֛יעַle.hav.Ki.a'H1234throughH1234to the kingמֶ֥לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of EdomH112;but they couldיָכֹֽלוּ׃ya.Kho.luH3201not.

27Then the king of Moabtookוַיִּקַּח֩vai.yi.KachH3947his oldestהַבְּכ֜וֹרha.be.KhorH1060sonבְּנ֨וֹbe.NoH1121whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834was to reignיִמְלֹ֣ךְyim.LokhH4427inH8478his placeתַּחְתָּ֗יוtach.TavH8478, andofferedוַיַּעֲלֵ֤הוּvai.ya.'a.Le.huH5927him as a burntעֹלָה֙'o.LahH5930offeringH5930on the wallהַ֣חֹמָ֔הha.cho.MahH2346.And greatגָּד֖וֹלga.DolH1419angerקֶצֶף־ke.tzef-H7110cameוַיְהִ֥יvay.HiH1961uponH5921Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and they departedוַיִּסְעוּ֙vai.yis.'UH5265from him and returnedוַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּvai.ya.Shu.vuH7725to their own landלָאָֽרֶץ׃ פla.'A.retzH776.
