24And the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Getקְח֣וּke.ChuH3947me a swordחָ֑רֶבCha.revH2719.”So they broughtוַיָּבִ֥אוּvai.ya.Vi.'uH935a swordהַחֶ֖רֶבha.Che.revH2719beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the kingהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ha.Me.lekhH4428.

25And the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Cutגִּזְר֛וּgiz.RuH1504the livingהַחַ֖יha.ChaiH2416childהַיֶּ֥לֶדhai.Ye.ledH3206in twoלִשְׁנָ֑יִםlish.Na.yimH8147,and giveוּתְנ֤וּu.te.NuH5414halfהַחֲצִי֙ha.cha.TziH2677to the oneלְאַחַ֔תle.'a.ChatH259and halfהַחֲצִ֖יha.cha.TziH2677to the otherלְאֶחָֽת׃le.'e.ChatH259.”

26But the womanהָאִשָּׁה֩ha.'i.ShahH802whoseאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834childבְּנָ֨הּbe.NahH1121wasthe livingהַחַ֜יha.ChaiH2416oneH2416spokeוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559to the kingהַמֶּ֗לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428, forshe was deeplyרַחֲמֶיהָ֮ra.cha.mei.HaH7356stirredנִכְמְר֣וּnikh.me.RuH3648overעַל־'al-H5921her sonבְּנָהּ֒be.NahH1121,and she saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶר׀va.To.merH559, “Pardonבִּ֣יbiH994me, my lordאֲדֹנִ֗י'a.do.NiH113!Giveתְּנוּ־te.nu-H5414her the livingהַחַ֔יha.ChaiH2416childהַיָּל֣וּדhai.ya.LudH3205,and byH4191noאַל־'al-H408meansH4191killH4191him!” But the otherH2088womanwas sayingאֹמֶ֗רֶת'o.Me.retH559, “He shall be neitherH1571 H3808mine norH3808yours; cutגְּזֹֽרוּ׃ge.Zo.ruH1504him!”

27Then the kingהַמֶּ֜לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428repliedוַיַּ֨עַן וַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Ya.'an vai.Yo.merH6030 H559, “Giveתְּנוּ־te.nu-H5414the first woman the livingהַחַ֔יha.ChaiH2416childהַיָּל֣וּדhai.ya.LudH3205,and byH4191noלֹ֣אlo'H3808meansH4191killH4191him. She is his motherאִמּֽוֹ׃'i.MoH517.”

28When allכָל־khol-H3605Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478heardוַיִּשְׁמְע֣וּvai.yish.me.'UH8085about the judgmentהַמִּשְׁפָּט֙ha.mish.PatH4941whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428hadhandedH8199downH8199,they fearedוַיִּֽרְא֖וּvai.yir.'UH3372the kingהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,becauseH3588they sawרָא֔וּra.'UH7200that the wisdomחָכְמַ֧תcha.khe.MatH2451of Godאֱלֹהִ֛ים'E.lo.HimH430was in him toadministerלַעֲשׂ֥וֹתla.'a.SotH6213justiceמִשְׁפָּֽט׃ סmish.PatH4941.
