Hebrews 6:11-18

11And we desire that each one of you demonstrate the same diligence 1so as to realize the 2full assurance of 3hope until the end, 12so that you will not be sluggish, but 4imitators of those who through 5faith and endurance 6inherit the promises.

13For 7when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear an oath by no one greater, He 8swore by Himself, 14saying, “9indeed I will greatly bless you and I will greatly multiply you.” 15And so, 10having patiently waited, he obtained the promise. 1611For people swear an oath by 12one greater than themselves, and with them 13an oath serving as confirmation is an end of every dispute. 1714In the same way God, desiring even more to demonstrate to 15the heirs of the promise 1617the fact that His purpose is unchangeable, 18confirmed it with an oath, 18so that by two unchangeable things in which 19it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to hold firmly to 20the hope set before us.
