Hebrews 6:11-18
11And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence 1so as to realize the 2full assurance of 3hope until the end, 12so that you will not be sluggish, but 4imitators of those who through 5faith and patience 6inherit the promises.
13For 7when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He 8swore by Himself, 14saying, “9I will surely bless you and I will surely multiply you.” 15And so, 10having patiently waited, he obtained the promise. 1611For men swear by 12one greater than themselves, and with them 13an oath given as confirmation is an end of every dispute. 1714In the same way God, desiring even more to show to 15the heirs of the promise 16the unchangeableness of His purpose, 17interposed with an oath, 18so that by two unchangeable things in which 18it is impossible for God to lie, we who have 19taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of 20the hope set before us.
