Hebrews 4:3-16
3For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said, “1As I swore in My anger, They certainly shall not enter My rest,” although His works were finished 2from the foundation of the world. 4For He has said 3somewhere concerning the seventh day: “4And God 5rested on the seventh day from all His works”; 5and again in this passage, “6They certainly shall not enter My rest.” 6Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who previously had good news preached to them failed to enter because of 7disobedience, 7He again sets a certain day, “Today,” saying 8through David after so long a time just 9as has been said before, “10Today if you hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.” 8For 11if 12Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that. 9Consequently, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. 10For the one who has entered His rest has himself also 13rested from his works, as 14God did from His. 11Therefore let’s make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following the same 15example of 16disobedience. 12For 17the word of God is 18living and 19active, and sharper than any two-edged 20sword, even penetrating as far as the division of 21soul and 22spirit, of both joints and marrow, and 23able to 24judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13And 25there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are 26open and laid bare to the eyes of Him to whom 27we must answer.
14Therefore, since we have a great 28high priest who has 29passed through the heavens, Jesus 30the Son of God, let’s hold firmly to our 31confession. 15For we do not have 32a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been 33tempted in all things just as we are, yet 34without sin. 16Therefore let’s 35approach the throne of grace with 36confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help at the time of our need.
