Genesis 1:9-30

9Then God said, “1Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place, and let 2the dry land appear”; and it was so. 10And God called the dry land “earth,” and the 3gathering of the waters He called “seas”; and God saw that it was good. 11Then God said, “Let the earth sprout 45vegetation, 6plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit according to 7their kind 8with seed in them”; and it was so. 12The earth produced 9vegetation, 10plants yielding seed according to 11their kind, and trees bearing fruit 12with seed in them, according to 13their kind; and God saw that it was good. 13And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.

14Then God said, “Let there be 1415lights in the 1617expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and they shall 18serve as 19signs and for 20seasons, and for days and years; 15and they 21shall serve as lights in the 22expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16God made the two great lights, the 23greater light 24to govern the day, and the lesser light 25to govern the night; He made 26the stars also. 1727God placed them in the 28expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18and 29to 30govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. 19And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

20Then God said, “Let the waters 31teem with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth 32in the open 33expanse of the heavens.” 21And God created 34the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind; and God saw that it was good. 22God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.

2435Then God said, “Let the earth produce living creatures according to 36their kind: livestock and crawling things and animals of the earth according to 37their kind”; and it was so. 25God made the 38animals of the earth according to 39their kind, and the livestock according to 40their kind, and everything that crawls on the ground according to its kind; and God saw that it was good.

26Then God said, “41Let 42Us make 43mankind in Our image, according to Our likeness; and 44let them 45rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the livestock and over all the earth, and over every crawling thing that crawls on the earth.” 27So God created man 46in His own image, in the image of God He created him; 47male and female He created them. 28God blessed them; and God said to them, “48Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that 49moves on the earth.” 29Then God said, “Behold, 50I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the 51surface of all the earth, and every tree 52which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you; 30and 53to every animal of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to everything that 54moves on the earth 55which has life, I have given every green plant for food”; and it was so.
