Colossians 1:3-29
31We 2give thanks to God, 3the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, 44since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the 5love which you have 6for 7all the 8saints; 5because of the 9hope 10reserved for you in 11heaven, of which you previously 12heard in the word of truth, 13the gospel 6which has come to you, just as 1415in all the world also it is bearing 16fruit and 17increasing, even as it has been doing in you also since the day you 18heard it and 19understood the grace of God in truth; 7just as you learned it from 20Epaphras, our 21beloved fellow bond-servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on our behalf, 8and he also informed us of your 22love in the Spirit.
9For this reason we also, 23since the day we heard about it, 24have not ceased praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the 2526knowledge of His will in all spiritual 27wisdom and understanding, 10so that you will 28walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, 2930to please Him in all respects, 31bearing fruit in every good work and 32increasing in the 33knowledge of God; 1134strengthened with all power, according to 35His glorious might, 36for the attaining of all perseverance and 37patience; 38joyously 12giving thanks to 39the Father, who has qualified us 40to share in 41the inheritance of the 42saints in 43light. 1344For He rescued us from the 4546domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of 4748His beloved Son, 1449in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
1550He is the 51image of the 52invisible God, the 53firstborn of all creation: 16for 5455by Him all things were created, 56both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether 57thrones, or dominions, or rulers, or authorities--58all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17He 5960is before all things, and in Him all things 61hold together. 18He is also the 62head of 63the body, the church; and He is 64the beginning, 65the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19For 66it was 67the Father’s good pleasure for all 68the 69fullness to dwell in Him, 20and through Him to 70reconcile all things to Himself, 71whether things on earth or things in 72heaven, having made 73peace through 74the blood of His cross.
21And although you were 75previously alienated and hostile in attitude, engaged in evil deeds, 22yet He has now 76reconciled you in His 77body of flesh through death, in order to 78present you before Him 79holy and blameless and beyond reproach-- 23if indeed you continue in 80the faith firmly 81established and steadfast, and not shifting from the 82hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed 83in all creation under heaven, 84and of which I, Paul, 85was made a 8687minister.
2488Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh 89I am supplementing what is lacking 90in Christ’s afflictions in behalf of 91His body, which is the church. 2592I 93was made a minister of this church according to the 94commission from God granted to me for your benefit, so that I might 95fully carry out the preaching of the word of God, 26that is, 96the mystery which had been hidden from the past ages and generations, but now has been revealed to His 97saints, 27to whom 98God willed to make known what 99the wealth of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles is, the mystery that is 100Christ in you, the 101hope of glory. 28We proclaim Him, 102admonishing every person and teaching every person 103with all 104wisdom, so that we may 105present every person 106107complete in Christ. 29For this purpose I also 108labor, 109striving 110according to His 111power which 112works mightily within me.
