Colossians 1:3-29
31We give thanks to God, 2the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, 43since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the 4love which you have 5for 6all the 7saints; 5because of the 8hope 9laid up for you in 10heaven, of which you previously 11heard in the word of truth, 12the gospel 6which has come to you, just as 1314in all the world also it is constantly bearing 15fruit and 16increasing, even as it has been doing in you also since the day you 17heard of it and 18understood the grace of God in truth; 7just as you learned it from 19Epaphras, our 20beloved fellow bond-servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on our behalf, 8and he also informed us of your 21love in the Spirit.
9For this reason also, 22since the day we heard of it, 23we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the 2425knowledge of His will in all spiritual 26wisdom and understanding, 10so that you will 27walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, 2829to please Him in all respects, 30bearing fruit in every good work and 31increasing in the 32knowledge of God; 1133strengthened with all power, according to 34His glorious might, 35for the attaining of all steadfastness and 36patience; 37joyously 12giving thanks to 38the Father, who has qualified us 39to share in 40the inheritance of the 41saints in 42Light. 1343For He rescued us from the 4445domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of 4647His beloved Son, 1448in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
1549He is the 50image of the 51invisible God, the 52firstborn of all creation. 16For 5354by Him all things were created, 55both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether 56thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--57all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17He 5859is before all things, and in Him all things 60hold together. 18He is also 61head of 62the body, the church; and He is 63the beginning, 64the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19For 65it was 66the Father’s good pleasure for all 67the 68fullness to dwell in Him, 20and through Him to 69reconcile all things to Himself, having made 70peace through 71the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, 72whether things on earth or things in 73heaven.
21And although you were 74formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, 22yet He has now 75reconciled you in His fleshly 76body through death, in order to 77present you before Him 78holy and blameless and beyond reproach-- 23if indeed you continue in 79the faith firmly 80established and steadfast, and not moved away from the 81hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed 82in all creation under heaven, 83and of which I, Paul, 84was made a 8586minister.
2487Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh 88I 89do my share on behalf of 90His body, which is the church, in filling up what is lacking 91in Christ’s afflictions. 2592Of this church I 93was made a minister according to the 94stewardship from God bestowed on me for your benefit, so that I might 95fully carry out the preaching of the word of God, 26that is, 96the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His 97saints, 27to whom 98God willed to make known what is 99the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is 100Christ in you, the 101hope of glory. 28We proclaim Him, 102admonishing every man and teaching every man 103with all 104wisdom, so that we may 105present every man 106107complete in Christ. 29For this purpose also I 108labor, 109striving 110according to His 111power, which 112mightily works within me.
