1 John 4:8

8The one who does not love does not know God, because 1God is love.

1 John 4:8 in other versions

Context of 1 John 4:8

6We are from God. The one who knows God listens to us; the one who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. 7Beloved, let’s love one another; for love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9By this the love of God was revealed in us, that God has sent His only Son into the world so that we may live through Him. 10In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
