Hosea 2:2-19
2“ContendH7378 with your motherH517, 1contendH7378, For she is 2not my wifeH802, and I am not her husbandH376; And let her putH5493 awayH5493 her 3harlotryH2183 from her faceH6440 And her adulteryH5005 from betweenH996 her breastsH7699,3OrH6435 I will stripH6584 her 4nakedH6174 And exposeH3322 her as on the 5dayH3117 when she was bornH3205. I will also 6makeH7760 her like a wildernessH4057, MakeH7896 her like desertH6723 landH776 And slayH4191 her with 7thirstH6772.4Also, I will haveH7355 noH3808 compassionH7355 on her childrenH1121, BecauseH3588 they are 8childrenH1121 of harlotryH2183.5For their motherH517 has 9playedH2181 the harlotH2181; She who conceivedH2029 them has actedH954 shamefullyH954. For she saidH559, ‘10I will goH1980 afterH310 my loversH157, Who 11giveH5414 me my breadH3899 and my waterH4325, My woolH6785 and my flaxH6593, my 12oilH8081 and my drinkH8250.’6ThereforeH3651, beholdH2009, I will 13hedgeH7753 up 14her wayH1870 with 15thornsH5518, And I will buildH1443 16a wallH1447 against her so that she cannotH3808 findH4672 her 17pathsH5410.7She will 18pursueH7291 her loversH157, but she will not overtakeH5381 them; And she will seekH1245 them, but will not findH4672 them. Then she will sayH559, ‘19I will goH1980 backH7725 to my 20firstH7223 husbandH376, For it was 21betterH2896 for me thenH227 thanH4480 nowH6258!’
8“For she does 22not knowH3045 that it was 23I who gaveH5414 her the grainH1715, the newH8492 wineH8492 and the oilH3323, And lavishedH7235 on her silverH3701 and goldH2091, Which they 24usedH6213 for BaalH1168.9ThereforeH3651, I will 25takeH3947 backH7725 My grainH1715 at 26harvest timeH6256 And My newH8492 wineH8492 in its seasonH4150. I will also takeH5337 awayH5337 My woolH6785 and My flaxH6593 Given to coverH3680 her nakednessH6172.10And thenH6258 I will 27uncoverH1540 her lewdnessH5040 In the sightH5869 of her loversH157, And noH3808 oneH376 will rescueH5337 her out of My handH3027.11I will also 28putH7673 an endH7673 to allH3605 her gaietyH4885, Her 29feastsH2282, her 30newH2320 moonsH2320, her sabbathsH7676 And allH3605 her festalH4150 assembliesH4150.12I will 31destroyH8074 her vinesH1612 and figH8384 treesH8384, Of whichH834 she saidH559, ‘TheseH1992 are my wagesH866 WhichH834 my loversH157 have givenH5414 me.’ And I will 32makeH7760 them a forestH3293, And the 33beastsH2421 of the fieldH7704 will devourH398 them.13I will punishH6485 her for the 34daysH3117 of the BaalsH1168 WhenH834 she used to 3536offerH6999 sacrificesH6999 to them And 37adornH5710 herself with her 38earringsH5141 and jewelryH2484, And followH1980H310 her loversH157, so that she 39forgotH7911 Me,” declaresH5002 the LordH3068.
14“ThereforeH3651, beholdH2009, I will allureH6601 her, 40BringH1980 her into the wildernessH4057 And speakH1696 41kindlyH3820 to her.15Then I will giveH5414 her her 42vineyardsH3754 from thereH8033, And 43the valleyH6010 of AchorH5911 as a doorH6607 of hopeH8615. And she will 4445singH6031 thereH8033 as in the daysH3117 of her youthH5271, As in the 46dayH3117 when she cameH5927 up from the landH776 of EgyptH4714.16It will comeH1961 about in that dayH3117,” declaresH5002 the LordH3068, “That you will callH7121 Me 4748IshiH376 And will noH3808 longerH5750 callH7121 Me 49BaaliH1180.17For 50I will removeH5493 the namesH8034 of the BaalsH1168 from her mouthH6310, So that they will be 51mentionedH2142 by their namesH8034 noH3808 moreH5750.18In that dayH3117 I will also makeH3772 a covenantH1285 for them With the 52beastsH2421 of the fieldH7704, The birdsH5775 of the skyH8064 And the creepingH7431 thingsH7431 of the groundH127. And I will 5354abolishH7665 the bowH7198, the swordH2719 and warH4421 from the landH776, And will make them 55lieH7901 downH7901 in safetyH983.19I will 56betrothH781 you to Me foreverH5769; Yes, I will betrothH781 you to Me in 57righteousnessH6664 and in justiceH4941, In lovingkindnessH2617 and in compassionH7356,
