2 Samuel 6:5-22
5Meanwhile, DavidH1732 and allH3605 the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 1were celebratingH7832 beforeH6440 the LordH3068 2with allH3605 kinds of instruments made of 3firH1265 woodH6086, and with lyresH3658, harpsH5035, tambourinesH8596, castanetsH4517 and cymbalsH6767.
6But when they cameH935 to the 4threshingH1637 floorH1637 of NaconH5225, UzzahH5798 5reachedH7971 out towardH413 the arkH727 of GodH430 and tookH270 holdH270 of it, for the oxenH1241 nearly upsetH8058 it. 7And the angerH639 of the LordH3068 burnedH2734 against UzzahH5798, and 6GodH430 struckH5221 him downH5221 thereH8033 for 7his irreverenceH7944; and he diedH4191 thereH8033 by the arkH727 of GodH430. 8DavidH1732 becameH2734 angryH2734 becauseH5921H834 8of the Lord’sH3068 outburstH6555H6556 against UzzahH5798, and that placeH4725 is calledH7121 9Perez-uzzahH6560 to thisH2088 dayH3117. 9So 10DavidH1732 was afraidH3372 of the LordH3068 that dayH3117; and he saidH559, “HowH349 can the arkH727 of the LordH3068 comeH935 to me?” 10And DavidH1732 was unwillingH3808H14 to moveH5493 the arkH727 of the LordH3068 into the cityH5892 of DavidH1732 with him; but DavidH1732 tookH5186 it asideH5186 to the houseH1004 of 11Obed-edomH5654 the GittiteH1663. 11Thus the arkH727 of the LordH3068 remainedH3427 in the houseH1004 of Obed-edomH5654 the GittiteH1663 threeH7969 monthsH2320, and the LordH3068 12blessedH1288 Obed-edomH5654 and allH3605 his householdH1004.
12Now it was toldH5046 KingH4428 DavidH1732, sayingH559, “The LordH3068 has blessedH1288 the houseH1004 of Obed-edomH5654 and allH3605 that belongs to him, on accountH5668 of the arkH727 of GodH430.” 13DavidH1732 wentH1980 and broughtH5927 up the arkH727 of GodH430 from the houseH1004 of Obed-edomH5654 into 14the cityH5892 of DavidH1732 with gladnessH8057. 13And so it was, that whenH3588 the 15bearersH5375 of the arkH727 of the LordH3068 had goneH6805 sixH8337 pacesH6806, he sacrificedH2076 an 16oxH7794 and a fatlingH4806. 14And 17DavidH1732 was dancingH3769 beforeH6440 the LordH3068 with allH3605 his mightH5797, and DavidH1732 was 1819wearingH2296 a linenH906 ephodH646. 15So DavidH1732 and allH3605 the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 were bringingH5927 up the arkH727 of the LordH3068 with shoutingH8643 and the soundH6963 of the trumpetH7782.
16Then it happenedH1961 as the arkH727 of the LordH3068 cameH935 into the cityH5892 of DavidH1732 that 20MichalH4324 the daughterH1323 of SaulH7586 lookedH8259 out of the windowH2474 and sawH7200 KingH4428 DavidH1732 leapingH6339 and dancingH3769 beforeH6440 the LordH3068; and she despisedH959 him in her heartH3820.
17So they broughtH935 in the arkH727 of the LordH3068 and setH3322 it 21in its placeH4725 insideH8432 the tentH168 whichH834 DavidH1732 had pitchedH5186 for it; and 22DavidH1732 offeredH5927 burntH5930 offeringsH5930 and peaceH8002 offeringsH8002 beforeH6440 the LordH3068. 18When DavidH1732 had finishedH3615 offeringH5927 the burntH5930 offeringH5930 and the peaceH8002 offeringH8002, 23he blessedH1288 the peopleH5971 in the nameH8034 of the LordH3068 of hostsH6635. 19Further, he distributedH2505 to allH3605 the peopleH5971, to allH3605 the multitudeH1995 of IsraelH3478, bothH4480 to menH376 and womenH802, a cakeH2471 of breadH3899 and oneH259 of datesH829 and oneH259 of raisinsH809 to eachH376 oneH376. Then allH3605 the peopleH5971 departedH1980 eachH376 to his houseH1004.
20But when DavidH1732 returnedH7725 to blessH1288 his householdH1004, MichalH4324 the daughterH1323 of SaulH7586 cameH3318 out to meetH7122 DavidH1732 and saidH559, “HowH4100 the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 distinguishedH3513 himself todayH3117! 24He uncoveredH1540 himself todayH3117 in the eyesH5869 of his servants’H5650 maidsH519 as oneH259 of the 25foolishH7386 onesH7386 shamelesslyH1540 uncoversH1540 himself!” 21So DavidH1732 saidH559 to MichalH4324, “26It was beforeH6440 the LordH3068, whoH834 choseH977 me aboveH4480 your fatherH1 and aboveH4480 allH3605 his houseH1004, to appointH6680 me rulerH5057 overH5921 the peopleH5971 of the LordH3068, overH5921 IsraelH3478; therefore I will celebrateH7832 beforeH6440 the LordH3068. 22I will be moreH5750 lightlyH7043 esteemedH7043 thanH4480 thisH2088 and will be humbleH8217 in my own eyesH5869, but with the maidsH519 of whomH834 you have spokenH559, with them I will be distinguishedH3513.”
