2 Chronicles 24:17-25
17But afterH310 the deathH4194 of JehoiadaH3077 the officialsH8269 of JudahH3063 cameH935 and bowedH7812 downH7812 to the kingH4428, and the kingH4428 listenedH8085 to them. 18They abandonedH5800 1the houseH1004 of the LordH3068, the GodH430 of their fathersH1, and 2servedH5647 the 3AsherimH842 and the idolsH6091; so 4wrathH7110 cameH1961 upon JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389 for thisH2088 their guiltH819. 19Yet 5He sentH7971 prophetsH5030 to them to bringH7725 them backH7725 to the LordH3068; though they testifiedH5749 against them, they would not listenH238.
206Then the SpiritH7307 of GodH430 7cameH3847 on ZechariahH2148 the sonH1121 of JehoiadaH3077 the priestH3548; and he stoodH5975 aboveH4480H5921 the peopleH5971 and saidH559 to them, “ThusH3541 GodH430 has saidH559, ‘8WhyH4100 do you transgressH5674 the commandmentsH4687 of the LordH3068 and do not prosperH6743? 9BecauseH3588 you have forsakenH5800 the LordH3068, He has also forsakenH5800 you.’” 21So 10they conspiredH7194 againstH5921 him and at the commandH4687 of the kingH4428 they stonedH7275 him 11to deathH68 in the courtH2691 of the houseH1004 of the LordH3068. 22Thus JoashH3060 the kingH4428 did not rememberH2142 the kindnessH2617 whichH834 his fatherH1 JehoiadaH3077 had shownH6213 him, but he murderedH2026 his sonH1121. And as he diedH4194 he saidH559, “May 12the LordH3068 seeH7200 and 13avengeH1875!”
23Now it happenedH1961 at the turnH8622 of the yearH8141 that 14the armyH2428 of the ArameansH758 cameH5927 up againstH5921 him; and they cameH935 to JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389, destroyedH7843 allH3605 the officialsH8269 of the peopleH5971 from among the peopleH5971, and sentH7971 allH3605 their spoilH7998 to the kingH4428 of DamascusH1834. 24IndeedH3588 the armyH2428 of the ArameansH758 cameH935 with a smallH4705 number of menH376; yet 15the LordH3068 deliveredH5414 a veryH3966 greatH7230 armyH2428 into their handsH3027, 16becauseH3588 they had forsakenH5800 the LordH3068, the GodH430 of their fathersH1. Thus they executedH6213 judgmentH8201 on JoashH3060.
2517When they had departedH1980 from him (for they leftH5800 him veryH7227 sickH4251), his own servantsH5650 conspiredH7194 againstH5921 him because of the bloodH1818 of the 18sonH1121 of JehoiadaH3077 the priestH3548, and murderedH2026 him on his bedH4296. So he diedH4191, and they buriedH6912 him in the cityH5892 of DavidH1732, but they did not buryH6912 him in the tombsH6913 of the kingsH4428.
