2When you arriveוּבָ֖אתָu.Va.taH935thereH8033,searchוּרְאֵֽה־u.re.'e.ho.Sha-H7200outJehuיֵה֨וּאye.Hu'H3058the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Jehoshaphatיְהוֹשָׁפָ֜טye.ho.sha.FatH3092the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Nimshiנִמְשִׁ֗יnim.ShiH5250,and goוּבָ֙אתָ֙u.Va.taH935in andbid him ariseוַהֲקֵֽמֹתוֹ֙va.ha.ke.mo.ToH6965from amongמִתּ֣וֹךmi.TokhH8432his brothersאֶחָ֔יו'e.ChavH251,and bringוְהֵבֵיאתָ֥ve.he.vei.TaH935him to an innerחֶ֥דֶרChe.derH2315roomבְּחָֽדֶר׃be.Cha.derH2315.

3Then takeוְלָקַחְתָּ֤ve.la.kach.TaH3947the flaskפַךְ־fakh-H6378of oilהַשֶּׁ֙מֶן֙ha.She.menH8081and pourוְיָצַקְתָּ֣ve.ya.tzak.TaH3332it on his headרֹאשׁ֔וֹro.ShoH7218and sayוְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ve.'a.mar.TaH559, ‘Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, “I have anointedמְשַׁחְתִּ֥יךָֽme.shach.Ti.khaH4886you kingלְמֶ֖לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428overעַל־'al-H5921Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478.”’Then openוּפָתַחְתָּ֥u.fa.tach.TaH6605the doorהַדֶּ֛לֶתha.De.letH1817and fleeוְנַ֖סְתָּהve.Nas.tahH5127and do not waitתְחַכֶּֽה׃te.cha.KehH2442.”

4Sothe youngהַנַּ֛עַרha.Na.'arH5288manהַנַּ֥עַרha.Na.'arH5288,the servantH5288of the prophetהַנָּבִ֖יאha.na.Vi'H5030,wentוַיֵּ֧לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980to Ramoth-gileadH7433.

5When he cameוַיָּבֹ֗אvai.ya.Vo'H935,beholdוְהִנֵּ֨הve.hi.NehH2009,the captainsשָׂרֵ֤יsa.ReiH8269of the armyהַחַ֙יִל֙ha.Cha.yilH2428were sittingיֹֽשְׁבִ֔יםyo.she.VimH3427,and he saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “I have a wordדָּבָ֥רda.VarH1697for you, O captainהַשָּׂ֑רha.SarH8269.”And Jehuיֵהוּא֙ye.Hu'H3058saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “For whichמִ֣יmiH4310oneof us?” And he saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “For you, O captainהַשָּֽׂר׃ha.SarH8269.”

6He aroseוַיָּ֙קָם֙vai.Ya.komH6965and wentוַיָּבֹ֣אvai.ya.Vo'H935into the houseהַבַּ֔יְתָהha.Bay.tahH1004,and he pouredוַיִּצֹ֥קvai.yi.TzokH3332the oilהַשֶּׁ֖מֶןha.She.menH8081on his headרֹאשׁ֑וֹro.ShoH7218and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, “Thusכֹּֽה־koh-H3541saysאָמַ֤ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478, ‘I have anointedמְשַׁחְתִּ֧יךָֽme.shach.Ti.khaH4886you kingלְמֶ֛לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428overH413the peopleעַ֥ם'amH5971of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068, evenoverH413Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

7You shall strikeוְהִ֨כִּיתָ֔הve.Hi.ki.TahH5221the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Ahabאַחְאָ֖ב'ach.'AvH256your masterאֲדֹנֶ֑יךָ'a.do.Nei.khaH113,that I may avengeוְנִקַּמְתִּ֞יve.ni.kam.TiH5358the bloodדְּמֵ֣י׀de.MeiH1818of My servantsעֲבָדַ֣י'a.va.DaiH5650the prophetsהַנְּבִיאִ֗יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030,and the bloodוּדְמֵ֛יu.de.MeiH1818of allכָּל־kol-H3605the servantsעַבְדֵ֥י'av.DeiH5650of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,at the handמִיַּ֥דmi.YadH3027of Jezebelאִיזָֽבֶל׃'i.Za.velH348.

8For the wholeכָּל־kol-H3605houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Ahabאַחְאָ֑ב'ach.'AvH256shall perishוְאָבַ֖דve.'a.VadH6, andI will cutוְהִכְרַתִּ֤יve.hikh.ra.TiH3772offH3772from Ahabלְאַחְאָב֙le.'ach.'AvH256everyH8366maleבְּקִ֔ירbe.KirH8366 H7023personboth bondוְעָצ֥וּרve.'a.TzurH6113and freeוְעָז֖וּבve.'a.ZuvH5800in Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃be.Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

9I will makeוְנָֽתַתִּי֙ve.na.ta.TiH5414the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Ahabאַחְאָ֔ב'ach.'AvH256like the houseכְּבֵ֖יתke.VeitH1004of Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֣םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Nebatנְבָ֑טne.VatH5028, andlike the houseוּכְבֵ֖יתu.khe.VeitH1004of Baashaבַּעְשָׁ֥אba'.Sha'H1201the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Ahijahאֲחִיָּֽה׃'a.chi.YahH281.

10The dogsהַכְּלָבִ֛יםha.ke.la.VimH3611shall eatיֹאכְל֧וּyo.khe.LuH398Jezebelאִיזֶ֜בֶל'i.Ze.velH348in the territoryבְּחֵ֥לֶקbe.Che.lekH2506of Jezreelיִזְרְעֶ֖אלyiz.re.'ElH3157,and noneוְאֵ֣יןve.'EinH369shall buryקֹבֵ֑רko.VerH6912her.’”Then he openedוַיִּפְתַּ֥חvai.yif.TachH6605the doorהַדֶּ֖לֶתha.De.letH1817and fledוַיָּנֹֽס׃vai.ya.NosH5127.

11Now Jehuוְיֵה֗וּאve.ye.Hu'H3058cameיָצָא֙ya.Tza'H3318out to the servantsעַבְדֵ֣י'av.DeiH5650of his masterאֲדֹנָ֔יו'a.do.NavH113,and one saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, “Is all wellהֲשָׁל֔וֹםha.sha.LomH7965?Whyמַדּ֛וּעַma.Du.a'H4069did thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088madהַמְשֻׁגָּ֥עham.shu.Ga'H7696fellowH7696comeבָּֽא־ba'-H935to you?” And he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “You knowיְדַעְתֶּ֥םye.da'.TemH3045very wellthe manהָאִ֖ישׁha.'IshH376and his talkשִׂיחֽוֹ׃si.ChoH7879.”

12They saidH559, “It is a lieשֶׁ֔קֶרShe.kerH8267,tellהַגֶּד־ha.ged-H5046us nowנָ֖אna'H4994.”And he saidH559, “ThusH2088and thusH2088he saidH559to me, ‘Thusכֹּ֚הkohH3541saysH559the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, “I have anointedמְשַׁחְתִּ֥יךָֽme.shach.Ti.khaH4886you kingלְמֶ֖לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428overH413Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.”’”

13Thenthey hurriedוַֽיְמַהֲר֗וּvay.ma.ha.RuH4116and eachH376manH376tookוַיִּקְחוּ֙vai.yik.ChuH3947his garmentבִּגְד֔וֹbig.DoH899and placedוַיָּשִׂ֥ימוּvai.ya.Si.muH7760it underתַחְתָּ֖יוtach.TavH8478him on the bareגֶּ֣רֶםGe.remH1634stepsהַֽמַּעֲל֑וֹתha.ma.'a.LotH4609, andblewוַֽיִּתְקְעוּ֙vai.yit.ke.'UH8628the trumpetבַּשּׁוֹפָ֔רba.sho.FarH7782,sayingוַיֹּאמְר֖וּvai.yo.me.RuH559, “Jehuיֵהֽוּא׃ye.Hu'H3058is kingמָלַ֥ךְma.LakhH4427!”
