5He trustedבָּטָ֑חba.TachH982in the Lordבַּיהוָ֥הba.Yah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵֽי־'e.lo.hei-H430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478;so that afterוְאַחֲרָ֞יוve.'a.cha.RavH310him there was noneH3808likeכָמֹ֗הוּkha.Mo.huH3644him among allבְּכֹל֙be.KholH3605the kingsמַלְכֵ֣יmal.KheiH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063,norH3808among thosewhoוַאֲשֶׁ֥רva.'a.SherH834were beforeלְפָנָֽיו׃le.fa.NavH6440him.

6For heclungוַיִּדְבַּק֙vai.yid.BakH1692to the Lordבַּֽיהוָ֔הba.Yah.wehH3068;he did not departסָ֖רsarH5493from followingמֵאַֽחֲרָ֑יוme.'a.cha.RavH310Him, but keptוַיִּשְׁמֹר֙vai.yish.MorH8104His commandmentsמִצְוֹתָ֔יוmitz.vo.TavH4687,whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068had commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680Mosesמֹשֶֽׁה׃mo.ShehH4872.

Hezekiah Victorious

7And the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068was with him; whereverבְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־be.Khol 'a.Sher-H3605 H834he wentיֵצֵ֖אye.Tze'H3318he prosperedיַשְׂכִּ֑ילyas.KilH7919. Andhe rebelledוַיִּמְרֹ֥דvai.yim.RodH4775against the kingבְּמֶֽלֶךְ־be.Me.lekh-H4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֖וּר'a.ShurH804and did not serveעֲבָדֽוֹ׃a.va.DoH5647him.

11Then the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֛וּר'a.ShurH804carriedH1540Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478awayH1540into exileוַיֶּ֧גֶלvai.Ye.gelH1540to Assyriaאַשּׁ֑וּרָה'a.Shu.rahH804,and putוַיַּנְחֵ֞םvai.yan.ChemH5148them inHalahבַּחְלַ֧חbach.LachH2477and on the Haborוּבְחָב֛וֹרu.ve.cha.VorH2249,the riverנְהַ֥רne.HarH5104of Gozanגּוֹזָ֖ןgo.ZanH1470,and in the citiesוְעָרֵ֥יve.'a.ReiH5892of the Medesמָדָֽי׃ma.DaiH4074,

12becauseעַ֣ל׀'alH5921 H834theydid not obeyשָׁמְע֗וּsha.me.'UH8085the voiceבְּקוֹל֙be.kOlH6963of the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068their Godאֱלֹהֵיהֶ֔ם'e.lo.hei.HemH430,but transgressedוַיַּעַבְרוּ֙vai.ya.'av.RuH5674His covenantבְּרִית֔וֹbe.ri.ToH1285, evenallכָּל־kol-H3605that Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872the servantעֶ֣בֶד'E.vedH5650of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068commandedצִוָּ֔הtzi.VahH6680;they would neitherH3808listenשָׁמְע֖וּsha.me.'UH8085norH3808doעָשֽׂוּ׃ פ'a.SuH6213it.

15Hezekiahחִזְקִיָּ֔הchiz.ki.YahH2396gaveוַיִּתֵּן֙vai.yi.TenH5414himallכָּל־kol-H3605the silverהַכֶּ֖סֶףha.Ke.sefH3701which was foundהַנִּמְצָ֣אha.nim.Tza'H4672in the houseבֵית־veit-H1004of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,and in the treasuriesוּבְאֹצְר֖וֹתu.ve.'o.tze.RotH214of the king’sהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ha.Me.lekhH4428houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004.

16At that timeבָּעֵ֣תba.'EtH6256Hezekiahחִזְקִיָּ֜הchiz.ki.YahH2396cutקִצַּ֨ץki.TzatzH7112offH7112the gold fromthe doorsדַּלְת֨וֹתdal.TotH1817of the templeהֵיכַ֤לhei.KhalH1964of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068, and fromthe doorpostsH539whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834Hezekiahחִזְקִיָּ֖הchiz.ki.YahH2396kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063had overlaidצִפָּ֔הtzi.PahH6823,and gaveוַֽיִּתְּנֵ֖םvai.yi.te.NemH5414it to the kingלְמֶ֥לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428of Assyriaאַשּֽׁוּר׃ פ'a.ShurH804.

17Then the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֡וּר'a.ShurH804sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֣חvai.yish.LachH7971Tartanתַּרְתָּ֥ןtar.TanH8661and Rab-sarisH7249and RabshakehH7262from Lachishלָכִ֜ישׁla.KhishH3923to Kingהַמֶּ֧לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Hezekiahחִזְקִיָּ֛הוּchiz.ki.Ya.huH2396with a largeכָּבֵ֖דka.VedH3515armyבְּחֵ֥ילbe.CheilH2428to Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָ֑םye.ru.sha.LimH3389.So they wentוַֽיַּעֲלוּ֙vai.ya.'a.LuH5927up and cameוַיָּבֹ֣אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֔םye.ru.sha.LimH3389.And when they wentוַיַּעֲל֣וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927up, they cameוַיָּבֹ֗אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935and stoodוַיַּֽעַמְדוּ֙vai.ya.'am.DuH5975by theconduitבִּתְעָלַת֙bit.'a.LatH8585of the upperהָֽעֶלְיוֹנָ֔הha.'el.yo.NahH5945poolהַבְּרֵכָ֣הha.be.re.KhahH1295,whichאֲשֶׁ֕ר'a.SherH834is on the highwayבִּמְסִלַּ֖תbim.si.LatH4546of thefuller’sכוֹבֵֽס׃kho.VesH3526fieldשְׂדֵ֥הse.DehH7704.

18When they calledוַֽיִּקְרְאוּ֙vai.yik.re.'UH7121to the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,Eliakimאֶלְיָקִ֥ים'el.ya.KimH471the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Hilkiahחִלְקִיָּ֖הוּchil.ki.Ya.huH2518,whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834was overעַל־'al-H5921the householdהַבָּ֑יִתha.Ba.yitH1004, andShebnahוְשֶׁבְנָה֙ve.shev.NahH7644the scribeH5613and Joahוְיוֹאָ֥חve.yo.'AchH3098the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Asaphאָסָ֖ף'a.SafH623the recorderהַמַּזְכִּֽיר׃ha.maz.KirH2142,cameוַיֵּצֵ֧אvai.ye.Tze'H3318out to them.

21Nowעַתָּ֡ה'a.TahH6258beholdהִנֵּ֣הhi.NehH2009, yourelyבָטַ֣חְתָּva.Tach.taH982on the staffמִשְׁעֶנֶת֩mish.'e.NetH4938of thisהַזֶּה֙ha.ZehH2088crushedהָרָצ֤וּץha.ra.TzutzH7533reedהַקָּנֶ֨הha.ka.NehH7070, evenon Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714;on whichאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834if a manאִישׁ֙'ishH376leansיִסָּמֵ֥ךְyi.sa.MekhH5564,it will goוּבָ֥אu.Va'H935into hishandבְכַפּ֖וֹve.kha.PoH3709and pierceוּנְקָבָ֑הּu.ne.ka.VahH5344it. Soכֵּ֚ןkenH3651is Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֣הpar.'OhH6547kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714to allלְכָֽל־le.kholH3605who relyהַבֹּטְחִ֖יםha.bo.te.ChimH982on him.

23Nowוְעַתָּה֙ve.'a.TahH6258therefore,comeנָ֔אNa'H4994,makeהִתְעָ֣רֶבhit.'A.revH6148a bargainH6148with my masterאֲדֹנִ֖י'a.do.NiH113the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֑וּר'a.ShurH804,and I will giveוְאֶתְּנָ֤הve.'e.te.NahH5414you two thousandאַלְפַּ֣יִם'al.Pa.yimH505horsesסוּסִ֔יםsu.SimH5483,ifאִם־'im-H518you are ableתּוּכַ֕לtu.KhalH3201on your part to setלָ֥תֶתLa.tetH5414ridersרֹכְבִ֥יםro.khe.VimH7392on them.
