2For the kingהַמֶּ֧לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428and his princesוְשָׂרָ֛יוve.sa.RavH8269and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the assemblyהַקָּהָ֖לha.ka.HalH6951in Jerusalemבִּירוּשָׁלִָ֑םbi.ru.sha.LimH3389had decidedוַיִּוָּעַ֨ץvai.yi.va.'AtzH3289to celebrateלַעֲשׂ֥וֹתla.'a.SotH6213the Passoverהַפֶּ֖סַחha.Pe.sachH6453in the secondהַשֵּׁנִֽי׃ha.she.NiH8145monthבַּחֹ֥דֶשׁba.Cho.deshH2320,

3sinceכִּ֣יkiH3588they couldיָכְל֛וּya.khe.LuH3201not celebrateלַעֲשֹׂת֖וֹla.'a.so.ToH6213itat that timeבָּעֵ֣תba.'EtH6256,becauseכִּ֤יkiH3588the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִים֙ha.ko.ha.NimH3548had not consecratedהִתְקַדְּשׁ֣וּhit.ka.de.ShuH6942themselves in sufficientH1767numbersH1767,norH3808had the peopleוְהָעָ֖םve.ha.'AmH5971been gatheredנֶאֶסְפ֥וּne.'es.FuH622to Jerusalemלִֽירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃Li.ru.sha.LimH3389.

4Thus the thingהַדָּבָ֖רha.da.VarH1697was rightוַיִּישַׁ֥רvai.yi.SharH3474in the sightH5869of the kingהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428andallכָּל־kol-H3605the assemblyהַקָּהָֽל׃ha.ka.HalH6951.

5So they establishedוַיַּֽעֲמִ֣ידוּvai.ya.'a.Mi.duH5975a decreeדָבָ֗רda.VarH1697to circulateלְהַעֲבִ֨ירle.ha.'a.VirH5674aproclamationק֤וֹלKolH6963throughout allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478from BeershebaH884even to Danדָּ֔ןDanH1835,that they should comeלָב֞וֹאla.Vo'H935to celebrateלַעֲשׂ֥וֹתla.'a.SotH6213the Passoverפֶּ֛סַחPe.sachH6453to the Lordלַיהוָ֥הla.Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵֽי־'e.lo.hei-H430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478at Jerusalemבִּירוּשָׁלִָ֑םbi.ru.sha.LimH3389.For they had not celebratedעָשׂ֖וּ'a.SuH6213itin greatH7230numbersH7230as it wasprescribedכַּכָּתֽוּב׃ka.ka.TuvH3789.

9Forif you returnבְשׁוּבְכֶ֞םve.shu.ve.KhemH7725to the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068,your brothersאֲחֵיכֶ֨ם'a.chei.KhemH251and your sonsוּבְנֵיכֶ֤םu.ve.nei.KhemH1121will findcompassionלְרַחֲמִים֙le.ra.cha.MimH7356beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440those who ledH7617them captiveH7617and will returnוְלָשׁ֖וּבve.la.ShuvH7725to thisH2088landלָאָ֣רֶץla.'A.retzH776.For the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֵיכֶ֔ם'e.lo.hei.KhemH430is graciousחַנּ֤וּןcha.NunH2587and compassionateוְרַחוּם֙ve.ra.ChumH7349,and will not turnיָסִ֤ירya.SirH5493Hisfaceפָּנִים֙pa.NimH6440awayH5493from you ifאִם־'im-H518you returnתָּשׁ֖וּבוּta.Shu.vuH7725to Him.”

10So thecouriersהָרָצִ֜יםha.ra.TzimH7323passedעֹבְרִ֨ים'oe.RimH5674from cityמֵעִ֧יר׀me.'IrH5892to cityלָעִ֛ירla.'IrH5892through the countryבְּאֶֽרֶץ־be.'e.retz-H776of Ephraimאֶפְרַ֥יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669and Manassehוּמְנַשֶּׁ֖הu.me.na.ShehH4519,and as farוְעַד־ve.'ad-H5704as Zebulunזְבֻל֑וּןze.vu.LunH2074, butthey laughedH7832them to scornH7832and mockedוּמַלְעִגִ֖יםu.mal.'i.GimH3932them.

11Neverthelessאַךְ־'akh-H389someH4480menH376of Asherמֵאָשֵׁ֥רme.'a.SherH836,Manassehוּמְנַשֶּׁ֖הu.me.na.ShehH4519and Zebulunוּמִזְּבֻל֑וּןu.mi.ze.vu.LunH2074humbledנִֽכְנְע֔וּnikh.ne.'UH3665themselves and cameוַיָּבֹ֖אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to Jerusalemלִירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃li.ru.sha.LimH3389.

13Now manyרָ֔בRavH7227peopleעַם־'am-H5971were gatheredוַיֵּֽאָסְפ֤וּvai.ye.'a.se.FuH622at Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ye.ru.sha.LimH3389to celebrateלַעֲשׂ֛וֹתla.'a.SotH6213the Feastחַ֥גchagH2282of Unleavenedהַמַּצּ֖וֹתha.ma.TzotH4682BreadH4682in the secondהַשֵּׁנִ֑יha.she.NiH8145monthבַּחֹ֣דֶשׁba.Cho.deshH2320,a veryמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966largeלָרֹ֥בla.RoH7230assemblyקָהָ֖לka.HalH6951.
