Revelation 14

The Lamb and the 144,000 on Mount Zion

1Then I looked, and behold, 1the Lamb was standing on 2Mount Zion, and with Him 3one hundred and forty-four thousand, having 4His name and the 5name of His Father written 6on their foreheads. 2And I heard a voice from heaven, like 7the sound of many waters and like the 8sound of loud thunder, and the voice which I heard was like the sound of 9harpists playing on their harps. 3And they 10sang 11a new song before the throne and before the 12four living creatures and the 13elders; and 14no one could learn the song except the 15one hundred and forty-four thousand who had been 16purchased from the earth. 417These are the ones who have not been defiled with women, for they 18have kept themselves chaste. These are the ones who 19follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These have been 20purchased from among men 21as first fruits to God and to the Lamb. 5And 22no lie was found in their mouth; they are 23blameless.

Vision of the Angel with the Gospel

6And I saw another angel flying in 24midheaven, having 25an eternal gospel to preach to 26those who 27live on the earth, and to 28every nation and tribe and tongue and people; 7and he said with a loud voice, “29Fear God, and 30give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; worship Him who 31made the heaven and the earth and sea and 32springs of waters.”

8And another angel, a second one, followed, saying, “3334Fallen, fallen is 35Babylon the great, she who has 36made all the nations drink of the 37wine of the 38passion of her immorality.”

Doom for Worshipers of the Beast

9Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone 39worships the beast and his 40image, and receives a 41mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10he also will drink of the 42wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed 43in full strength 44in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with 45fire and 46brimstone in the presence of the 47holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11And the 48smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; 49they have no rest day and night, those who 50worship the beast and his 51image, and 52whoever receives the 53mark of his name.” 12Here is 54the 55perseverance of the 56saints who 57keep the commandments of God and 5859their faith in Jesus.

13And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, “Write, ‘60Blessed are the dead who 61die in the Lord from now on!’” “Yes,” 62says the Spirit, “so that they may 63rest from their labors, for their 64deeds follow with them.”

The Reapers

14Then I looked, and behold, a 65white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was one 66like 67a son of man, having a golden 68crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand. 15And another angel 69came out of the 70temple, crying out with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “7172Put in your sickle and reap, for the hour to reap has come, because the 73harvest of the earth 74is ripe.” 16Then He who sat on the cloud 75swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped.

17And another angel 76came out of the 77temple which is in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle. 18Then another angel, 78the one who has power over fire, came out from 79the altar; and he called with a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “8081Put in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters 82from the vine of the earth, 83because her grapes are ripe.” 19So the angel 84swung his sickle to the earth and gathered the clusters from the vine of the earth, and threw them into 85the great wine press of the wrath of God. 20And 86the wine press was trodden 87outside the city, and 88blood came out from the wine press, up to the horses’ bridles, 89for a distance of 90two hundred miles.
