Revelation 12
The Woman, Israel
1A great 1sign appeared 2in heaven: 3a woman 4clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars; 2and she was with child; and she 5cried out, being in labor and in pain to give birth.
The Red Dragon, Satan
3Then 6another sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great red 7dragon having 8seven heads and 9ten horns, and on his heads were 10seven diadems. 4And his tail swept away a 11third of the stars of heaven and 12threw them to the earth. And the 13dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth 14he might devour her child.
The Male Child, Christ
5And 15she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to 1617rule all the 18nations with a rod of iron; and her child was 19caught up to God and to His throne. 6Then the woman fled into the wilderness where she had a place prepared by God, so that there 20she would be nourished for 21one thousand two hundred and sixty days.
The Angel, Michael
7And there was war in heaven, 22Michael and his angels waging war with the 23dragon. The dragon and 24his angels waged war, 8and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. 9And the great 25dragon was thrown down, the 26serpent of old who is called the devil and 27Satan, who 28deceives the whole 29world; he was 30thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10Then I heard 31a loud voice in heaven, saying,
“Now the 32salvation, and the power, and the 33kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the 34accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night. 11And they 35overcame him because of 36the blood of the Lamb and because of 37the word of their testimony, and they 38did not love their life even 39when faced with death. 12For this reason, 40rejoice, O heavens and 41you who 42dwell in them. 43Woe to the earth and the sea, because 44the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only 45a short time.”
13And when the 46dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted 47the woman who gave birth to the male child. 14But the 48two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, so that she could fly 49into the wilderness to her place, where she was nourished for 50a time and times and half a time, from the 51presence of the serpent. 15And the 52serpent 53poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, so that he might cause her to be swept away with the flood. 1654But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and drank up the river which the dragon 55poured out of his mouth. 17So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to 56make war with the rest of her 5758children, who 59keep the commandments of God and 60hold to the testimony of Jesus.
