2 Samuel 9
1Then DavidH1732H3588 askedH559, “Is thereH3426H5750 anyone leftH3498 from the houseH1004 of SaulH7586 to whomH5973 I can showH6213 kindnessH2617 for the sakeH5668 of JonathanH3083?”
2And there was a servantH5650 of the houseH1004 of SaulH7586 namedH8034 ZibaH6717. They summonedH7121 him toH413 DavidH1732, and the kingH4428 inquiredH559H413, “Are youH859 ZibaH6717?”
“I am your servantH5650,” he repliedH559.
3So the kingH4428H657 askedH559, “Is there anyoneH376 leftH5750 of the houseH1004 of SaulH7586 to whomH5973 I can showH6213 the kindnessH2617 of GodH430?”
ZibaH6717 answeredH559, “There is stillH5750 Jonathan’sH3083 sonH1121, who is lameH5223 in both feetH7272.”
4“WhereH375 is heH1931?” repliedH559 the kingH4428.
And ZibaH6717H413 saidH559, “IndeedH2009, heH1931 is in Lo-debarH3810 at the houseH1004 of MachirH4353 sonH1121 of AmmielH5988.”
So KingH4428 DavidH1732 had him broughtH3947 from the houseH1004 of MachirH4353 sonH1121 of AmmielH5988 in Lo-debarH3810. 6And when MephiboshethH46481 sonH1121 of JonathanH3083, the sonH1121 of SaulH7586, cameH935 toH413 DavidH1732, he fell facedownH5307H5921H6440 in reverenceH7812.
Then DavidH1732 saidH559, “MephiboshethH4648!”
“I am your servantH5650,” he repliedH559H2009.
7“Do notH408 be afraidH3372,” saidH559 DavidH1732, “forH3588 surely I will showH6213 youH5973 kindnessH2617 for the sakeH5668 of your fatherH1 JonathanH3083. I will restoreH7725 to you allH3605 the landH7704 of your grandfatherH1 SaulH7586, and youH859 will alwaysH8548 eatH398H3899 atH5921 my tableH7979.”
8Mephibosheth bowed downH7812 and saidH559, “WhatH4100 is your servantH5650, thatH3588 you should show regardH6437 forH413 a deadH4191 dogH3611 like meH3644?”
9Then the kingH4428 summonedH7121 Saul’sH7586 servantH5288 ZibaH6717 and saidH559H413 to himH413, “I have givenH5414 to your master’sH113 grandsonH1121 allH3605 thatH834 belonged toH1961 SaulH7586 and to allH3605 his houseH1004. 10YouH859 and your sonsH1121 and servantsH5650 are to workH5647 the groundH127 for him and bring inH935 the harvest, so that your master’sH113 grandsonH1121 may haveH1961 foodH3899 to eatH398. But MephiboshethH4648, your master’sH113 grandsonH1121, is alwaysH8548H3899 to eatH398 atH5921 my tableH7979.”
Now ZibaH6717 had fifteenH2568H6240 sonsH1121 and twentyH6242 servantsH5650. 11And ZibaH6717 saidH559 toH413 the kingH4428, “Your servantH5650H3651 will doH6213H5650 allH3605 thatH834 my lordH113 the kingH4428 has commandedH6680.”
So MephiboshethH4648 ateH398 atH5921 David’s tableH79792 like oneH259 of the king’sH4428 own sonsH1121. 12And MephiboshethH4648 had a youngH6996 sonH1121 namedH8034 MicaH4316,3 and allH3605 who dweltH4186 in the houseH1004 of ZibaH6717 were servantsH5650 of MephiboshethH4648. 13So MephiboshethH4648 livedH3427 in JerusalemH3389, becauseH3588 heH1931 alwaysH8548 ateH398H1931 atH5921 the king’sH4428 tableH7979, and he was lameH6455 in bothH8147 feetH7272.
