2 Samuel 23:9-16
9Next in command wasH310 EleazarH499 sonH1121 of DodoH17341 the AhohiteH1121H266. As one of the threeH7969 mighty menH1368, he went withH5973 DavidH1732 to tauntH2778 the PhilistinesH6430 who had gatheredH622 for battleH4421 at Pas-dammim. The menH376 of IsraelH3478 retreatedH5927, 10but EleazarH1931 stood his groundH6965 and struckH5221 the PhilistinesH6430 untilH5704H3588 his handH3027 grew wearyH3021 and stuckH1692H3027 toH413 his swordH2719. The LORDH3068 brought aboutH6213 a greatH1419 victoryH8668 thatH1931 dayH3117. Then the troopsH5971 returnedH7725 to himH310, but onlyH389 to plunder the deadH6584. 11And after himH310 was ShammahH8037 sonH1121 of AgeeH89 the HarariteH2043. When the PhilistinesH6430 had banded togetherH622 nearH3896 a fieldH2513H7704 full ofH4392 lentilsH5742, Israel’s troopsH5971 fledH5127 fromH6440 them. 12But Shammah took his standH3320 in the middleH8432 of the fieldH2513, defended itH5337, and struck downH5221 the PhilistinesH6430. So the LORDH3068 brought aboutH6213 a greatH1419 victoryH8668.
13AtH413 harvest timeH7105, threeH7970 of the thirtyH7970 chief menH7218 went downH3381H935 toH413 DavidH1732 atH413 the caveH4631 of AdullamH5725, while a companyH2416 of PhilistinesH6430 was encampedH2583 in the ValleyH6010 of RephaimH7497. 14At that timeH227 DavidH1732 was in the strongholdH4686, and the garrisonH4673 of the PhilistinesH6430H227 was at BethlehemH1035. 15DavidH1732 longedH183 for water and saidH559, “Oh, that someoneH4310 would get me a drinkH8248 of waterH4325 from the wellH877 near the gateH8179 of BethlehemH1035!”
16So the threeH7969 mighty menH1368 brokeH1234 through the PhilistineH6430 campH4264, drewH7579 waterH4325 from the wellH877 near the gateH8179H5375 of BethlehemH1035, and broughtH935 it back toH413 DavidH1732. But he refusedH3808H14 to drink itH8354; instead, he poured it outH5258 to the LORDH3068,
