1This isthe burdenמַשָּׂ֤אma.Sa'H4853of the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068against the landבְּאֶ֣רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Hadrachחַדְרָ֔ךְchad.RakhH2317and Damascusוְדַמֶּ֖שֶׂקve.da.Me.sekH1834its resting placeמְנֻחָת֑וֹme.nu.cha.ToH4496—forכִּ֤יkiH3588the eyesעֵ֣ין'einH5869of menאָדָ֔ם'a.DamH120and of allוְכֹ֖לve.KholH3605the tribesשִׁבְטֵ֥יshiv.TeiH7626of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478are upon the LORDלַֽיהוָה֙la.Yah.wehH3068—

2and alsoוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571againstHamathחֲמָ֖תcha.MatH2574,which bordersתִּגְבָּל־tig.bol-H1379it,as well as Tyreצֹ֣רtzorH6865and Sidonוְצִיד֔וֹןve.tzi.DonH6721,thoughכִּ֥יkiH3588they are veryמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966shrewdחָֽכְמָ֖הchokh.mahH2449.

3Tyreצֹ֛רtzorH6865has builtוַתִּ֥בֶןva.Ti.venH1129herselfa fortressמָצ֖וֹרma.TzorH4692;she has heaped upוַתִּצְבָּר־va.titz.bor-H6651silverכֶּ֙סֶף֙ke.sefH3701like dustכֶּֽעָפָ֔רke.'a.FarH6083,and goldוְחָר֖וּץve.cha.RutzH2742like the dirtכְּטִ֥יטke.TitH2916of the streetsחוּצֽוֹת׃chu.TzotH2351.

4Beholdהִנֵּ֤הhi.NehH2009,the Lordאֲדֹנָי֙'a.do.NaiH136will impoverish herיֽוֹרִשֶׁ֔נָּהyo.ri.She.nahH3423and castוְהִכָּ֥הve.hi.KahH5221her wealthחֵילָ֑הּchei.LahH2428into the seaבַיָּ֖םvai.YamH3220,and sheוְהִ֖יאve.Hi'H1931will be consumedתֵּאָכֵֽל׃te.'a.KhelH398by fireבָּאֵ֥שׁba.'EshH784.

5Ashkelonאַשְׁקְל֜וֹן'ash.ke.LonH831will seeתֵּרֶ֨אte.Re'H7200and fearוְתִירָ֗אve.ti.Ra'H3372;Gazaוְעַזָּה֙ve.'a.ZahH5804will writhe in agonyוְתָחִ֣יל מְאֹ֔דve.ta.Chil me.'OdH3966 H2342,as will Ekronוְעֶקְר֖וֹןve.'ek.RonH6138,forכִּֽי־ki-H3588her hopeמֶבָּטָ֑הּme.ba.TahH4007will witherהֹבִ֣ישׁho.VishH954.There will cease to beוְאָ֤בַדve.'A.vadH6a kingמֶ֙לֶךְ֙Me.lekhH4428in Gazaמֵֽעַזָּ֔הme.'a.ZahH5804,and Ashkelonוְאַשְׁקְל֖וֹןve.'ash.ke.LonH831will be uninhabitedלֹ֥א תֵשֵֽׁב׃lo' te.ShevH3808 H3427.

6A mixed raceמַמְזֵ֖רmam.ZerH4464will occupyוְיָשַׁ֥בve.ya.ShavH3427Ashdodבְּאַשְׁדּ֑וֹדbe.'ash.DodH795,and I will cut offוְהִכְרַתִּ֖יve.hikh.ra.TiH3772the prideגְּא֥וֹןge.'onH1347of the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃pe.lish.TimH6430.

7I will removeוַהֲסִרֹתִ֨יva.ha.si.ro.TiH5493the bloodדָמָ֜יוda.MavH1818from their mouthsמִפִּ֗יוmi.PivH6310and the abominationsוְשִׁקֻּצָיו֙ve.shi.ku.TzavH8251from betweenמִבֵּ֣יןmi.BeinH996their teethשִׁנָּ֔יוshi.NavH8127.Then theyה֖וּאhu'H1931tooגַּם־gam-H1571will become a remnantוְנִשְׁאַ֥רve.nish.'ArH7604for our Godלֵֽאלֹהֵ֑ינוּle.lo.Hei.nuH430;they will becomeוְהָיָה֙ve.ha.YahH1961like a clanכְּאַלֻּ֣ףke.'a.LufH441in Judahבִּֽיהוּדָ֔הbi.hu.DahH3063,and Ekronוְעֶקְר֖וֹןve.'ek.RonH6138will be like the Jebusitesכִּיבוּסִֽי׃ki.vu.SiH2983.

8But I will camp aroundוְחָנִ֨יתִיve.cha.Ni.tiH2583My houseלְבֵיתִ֤יle.vei.TiH1004because of an armyמִצָּבָה֙mi.tza.VahH4675,because of those who march to and froמֵעֹבֵ֣ר וּמִשָּׁ֔בme.'o.Ver u.mi.ShavH5674 H7725,and never againוְלֹֽא־ ע֖וֹדve.lo'- odH3808 H5750will an oppressorנֹגֵ֑שׂno.GesH5065overrunיַעֲבֹ֧רya.'a.VorH5674My peopleעֲלֵיהֶ֛ם'a.lei.HemH5921,forכִּ֥יkiH3588nowעַתָּ֖ה'a.TahH6258I keep watchרָאִ֥יתִיra.'I.tiH7200with My own eyesבְעֵינָֽי׃ סve.'ei.NaiH5869.

9Rejoiceגִּילִ֨יgi.LiH1523greatlyמְאֹ֜דme.'OdH3966,O Daughterבַּת־bat-H1323of Zionצִיּ֗וֹןtzi.YonH6726!Shout in triumphהָרִ֙יעִי֙ha.Ri.'iH7321,O Daughterבַּ֣תbatH1323of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֔םye.ru.sha.LimH3389!Seeהִנֵּ֤הhi.NehH2009,your Kingמַלְכֵּךְ֙mal.keKhH4428comesיָ֣בוֹאYa.Vo'H935to youה֑וּאHu'H1931,righteousצַדִּ֥יקtza.DikH6662and victoriousוְנוֹשָׁ֖עve.no.Sha'H3467,humbleעָנִי֙'a.NiH6041and ridingוְרֹכֵ֣בve.ro.KhevH7392onעַל־'al-H5921a donkeyחֲמ֔וֹרcha.MorH2543,onוְעַל־ve.'al-H5921a coltעַ֖יִר'A.yirH5895,the foalבֶּן־ben-H1121of a donkeyאֲתֹנֽוֹת׃'a.to.NotH860.

10And I will cut offוְהִכְרַתִּי־ve.hikh.ra.ti-H3772the chariotרֶ֣כֶבRe.khevH7393from Ephraimמֵאֶפְרַ֗יִםme.'ef.Ra.yimH669and the horseוְסוּס֙ve.SusH5483from Jerusalemמִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םmi.Ru.sha.LimH3389,and the bowקֶ֣שֶׁתKe.shetH7198of warמִלְחָמָ֔הmil.cha.MahH4421will be brokenוְנִכְרְתָה֙ve.nikh.re.TahH3772.Then He will proclaimוְדִבֶּ֥רve.di.BerH1696peaceשָׁל֖וֹםsha.LomH7965to the nationsלַגּוֹיִ֑םla.go.YimH1471.His dominion will extendוּמָשְׁלוֹ֙u.ma.she.LoH4915from seaמִיָּ֣םmi.YamH3220toעַד־'ad-H5704seaיָ֔םYamH3220,and from the Euphratesוּמִנָּהָ֖רu.mi.na.HarH5104toעַד־'ad-H5704the endsאַפְסֵי־'af.sei-H657of the earthאָֽרֶץ׃'A.retzH776.

11גַּם־gam-H1571As for youאַ֣תְּ'atH859,because of the bloodבְּדַם־be.dam-H1818of My covenantבְּרִיתֵ֗ךְbe.ri.TekhH1285,I will releaseשִׁלַּ֤חְתִּיshi.Lach.tiH7971your prisonersאֲסִירַ֙יִךְ֙'a.si.Ra.yikhH615from the waterlessאֵ֥ין מַ֖יִם'ein Ma.yimH369 H4325pitמִבּ֔וֹרmi.BorH953.

12Returnשׁ֚וּבוּShu.vuH7725to your strongholdלְבִצָּר֔וֹןle.vi.tza.RonH1225,O prisonersאֲסִירֵ֖י'a.si.ReiH615of hopeהַתִּקְוָ֑הha.tik.VahH8615;evenגַּם־gam-H1571todayהַיּ֕וֹםhai.YomH3117I declareמַגִּ֥ידma.GidH5046that I will restoreאָשִׁ֥יב'a.ShivH7725to youdoubleמִשְׁנֶ֖הmish.NehH4932.

13Forכִּֽי־ki-H3588I will bendדָרַ֨כְתִּיda.Rakh.tiH1869Judahיְהוּדָ֗הye.hu.DahH3063as My bowקֶ֚שֶׁתKe.shetH7198and fit itמִלֵּ֣אתִיmi.Le.tiH4390with Ephraimאֶפְרַ֔יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669.I will rouseוְעוֹרַרְתִּ֤יve.'o.rar.TiH5782your sonsבָנַ֙יִךְ֙va.Na.yikhH1121,O Zionצִיּ֔וֹןtzi.YonH6726,againstעַל־'al-H5921the sonsבָּנַ֖יִךְba.Na.yikhH1121of Greeceיָוָ֑ןya.VanH3120.I will make youוְשַׂמְתִּ֖יךְve.sam.TikhH7760like the swordכְּחֶ֥רֶבke.Che.revH2719of a mighty manגִּבּֽוֹר׃gi.BorH1368.

14Then the LORDוַֽיהוָה֙va.Yah.wehH3068will appearיֵֽרָאֶ֔הye.ra.'EhH7200over themעֲלֵיהֶ֣ם'a.lei.HemH5921,and His arrowחִצּ֑וֹchi.TzoH2671will go forthוְיָצָ֥אve.ya.Tza'H3318like lightningכַבָּרָ֖קkha.ba.RakH1300.The Lordוַֽאדֹנָ֤יva.do.NaiH136GODיְהֹוִה֙Yah.wehH3069will soundיִתְקָ֔עyit.Ka'H8628the ram’s hornבַּשּׁוֹפָ֣רba.sho.FarH7782and advanceוְהָלַ֖ךְve.ha.LakhH1980in the whirlwindsבְּסַעֲר֥וֹתbe.sa.'a.RotH5591of the southתֵּימָֽן׃tei.ManH8486.

15The LORDיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of Hostsצְבָאוֹת֮tze.va.'OtH6635will shieldיָגֵ֣ןya.GenH1598themעֲלֵיהֶם֒'a.lei.HemH5921.They will destroyוְאָכְל֗וּve.'a.khe.LuH398and conquerוְכָֽבְשׁוּ֙ve.kha.ve.ShuH3533with slingstonesאַבְנֵי־ קֶ֔לַע'av.nei- Ke.la'H68 H7050;they will drinkוְשָׁת֥וּve.sha.TuH8354androarהָמ֖וּha.MuH1993as withכְּמוֹ־ke.mov-H3644wineיָ֑יִןYa.yinH3196.And they will be filledוּמָֽלְאוּ֙u.mal.'UH4390like sprinkling bowlsכַּמִּזְרָ֔קka.miz.RakH4219, drenchedlike the cornersכְּזָוִיּ֖וֹתke.za.vi.YotH2106of the altarמִזְבֵּֽחַ׃miz.Be.achH4196.

16On thatהַה֖וּאha.Hu'H1931dayבַּיּ֥וֹםbai.YomH3117the LORDיְהוָ֧הYah.wehH3068their Godאֱלֹהֵיהֶ֛ם'e.lo.hei.HemH430will save themוְֽהוֹשִׁיעָ֞םve.ho.shi.'AmH3467as the flockכְּצֹ֣אןke.TzonH6629of His peopleעַמּ֑וֹa.MoH5971;forכִּ֚יkiH3588like jewelsאַבְנֵי־'av.nei-H68in a crownנֵ֔זֶרNe.zerH5145they will sparkleמִֽתְנוֹסְס֖וֹתmit.no.SotH5264overעַל־'al-H5921His landאַדְמָתֽוֹ׃'ad.ma.ToH127.

17כִּ֥יkiH3588Howמַה־mah-H4100lovely they will beטּוּב֖וֹtu.VoH2898,and howוּמַה־u.mah-H4100beautifulיָפְי֑וֹya.fe.YoH3308!Grainדָּגָן֙da.GanH1715will make the young menבַּֽחוּרִ֔יםba.chu.RimH970flourishיְנוֹבֵ֥בye.no.VevH5107,and new wineוְתִיר֖וֹשׁve.ti.Ro.oshH8492,the young womenבְּתֻלֽוֹת׃be.tu.LotH1330.
