8On the fifthהַחֲמִישִׁי֮ha.cha.mi.ShiH2549dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117,he got up earlyוַיַּשְׁכֵּ֨םvai.yash.KemH7925in the morningבַּבֹּ֜קֶרba.Bo.kerH1242to departלָלֶכֶת֒la.le.KhetH1980,but the girl’sהַֽנַּעֲרָ֗הha.na.'a.RahH5291fatherאֲבִ֣י'a.ViH1saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶר׀vai.Yo.merH559, “Pleaseנָא֙na'H4994refreshסְעָד־se.'od-H5582your heartלְבָ֣בְךָ֔le.Va.ve.khaH3824.”So they waitedוְהִֽתְמַהְמְה֖וּve.hit.mah.me.HuH4102untilעַד־'ad-H5704late afternoonנְט֣וֹת הַיּ֑וֹםne.Tot hai.YomH5186H3117and the twoשְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃she.nei.HemH8147of them ateוַיֹּאכְל֖וּvai.yo.khe.LuH398.
9When the manהָאִישׁ֙ha.'IshH376got upוַיָּ֤קָםvai.Ya.komH6965to departלָלֶ֔כֶת ה֥וּאla.Le.khet hu'H1980H1931with his concubineוּפִילַגְשׁ֖וֹu.fi.lag.ShoH6370and his servantוְנַעֲר֑וֹve.na.'a.RoH5288,his father-in-lawחֹתְנ֣וֹcho.te.NoH2859,the girl’sהַֽנַּעֲרָ֡הha.na.'a.RahH5291fatherאֲבִ֣י'a.ViH1,saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, “Lookהִנֵּ֣הhi.NehH2009,the dayהַיּ֜וֹםhai.YomH3117is drawingרָפָ֨הra.FahH7503to a closeלַעֲרֹ֗בla.'a.RoH6150.Pleaseנָא֩na'H4994spend the nightלִֽינוּ־ נָ֞אli.nu- na'H3885H4994.Seeהִנֵּ֨הhi.NehH2009,the dayהַיּוֹם֙hai.yOmH3117is almost overחֲנ֤וֹתcha.NotH2583.Spend the nightלִ֥יןlinH3885hereפֹּה֙pohH6311,that your heartלְבָבֶ֔ךָle.va.Ve.khaH3824may be merryוְיִיטַ֣בve.yi.TavH3190.Then you can get up earlyוְהִשְׁכַּמְתֶּ֤םve.hish.kam.TemH7925tomorrowמָחָר֙ma.CharH4279for your journeyלְדַרְכְּכֶ֔ם וְהָלַכְתָּ֖le.dar.ke.Khem ve.ha.lakh.TaH1870H1980homeלְאֹהָלֶֽךָ׃le.'o.ha.Le.khaH168.”
10But the manהָאִישׁ֙ha.'IshH376was unwillingוְלֹֽא־ אָבָ֤הve.lo'- 'a.VahH3808H14to spend the nightלָל֔וּןla.LunH3885.He got upוַיָּ֣קָםvai.Ya.komH6965and departedוַיֵּ֗לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980,and arrivedוַיָּבֹא֙ עַד־vai.ya.Vo' 'ad-H935H5704oppositeנֹ֣כַחNo.khachH5227Jebusיְב֔וּסye.VusH2982(that isהִ֖יאhi'H1931,Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָ֑םye.ru.sha.LimH3389),withוְעִמּ֗וֹve.'i.MoH5973his twoצֶ֤מֶדTze.medH6776saddledחֲבוּשִׁ֔יםcha.vu.ShimH2280donkeysחֲמוֹרִים֙cha.mo.RimH2543and his concubineוּפִילַגְשׁ֖וֹu.fi.lag.ShoH6370עִמּֽוֹ׃i.MoH5973.
11When theyהֵ֣םhemH1992were nearעִם־'im-H5973Jebusיְב֔וּסye.VusH2982and the dayוְהַיּ֖וֹםve.hai.YomH3117was almostמְאֹ֑דme.'OdH3966goneרַ֣דradH3381,the servantהַנַּ֜עַרha.Na.'arH5288saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toאֶל־'el-H413his masterאֲדֹנָ֗יו לְכָה־'a.do.Nav le.khah-H113H1980, “Pleaseנָּ֛אna'H4994,let us stopוְנָס֛וּרָהve.na.Su.rahH5493atאֶל־'el-H413thisהַזֹּ֖אתha.ZotH2063Jebusiteהַיְבוּסִ֥יhay.vu.SiH2983cityעִֽיר־'ir-H5892and spend the nightוְנָלִ֥יןve.na.LinH3885here.”
12But his masterאֲדֹנָ֔יו'a.do.NavH113repliedוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559אֵלָיו֙'e.LavH413, “We will notלֹ֤אlo'H3808turn asideנָסוּר֙na.SurH5493toאֶל־'el-H413the cityעִ֣יר'irH5892of foreignersנָכְרִ֔יna.khe.RiH5237,whereאֲשֶׁ֛ר'a.SherH834there are noלֹֽא־lo'-H3808Israelitesמִבְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל הֵ֑נָּהmi.be.Nei Yis.ra.'El He.nahH1121H3478H2007.We will go onוְעָבַ֖רְנוּve.'a.Var.nuH5674toעַד־'ad-H5704Gibeahגִּבְעָֽה׃giv.'AhH1390.”
