25The Danitesבְּנֵי־ דָ֔ןbe.nei- DanH1121H1835saidוַיֹּאמְר֤וּvai.yo.me.RuH559to himאֵלָיו֙'e.LavH413, “Do notאַל־'al-H408raiseתַּשְׁמַ֥עtash.Ma'H8085your voiceקוֹלְךָ֖kol.ChaH6963against usעִמָּ֑נוּ'i.Ma.nuH5973,orפֶּֽן־pen-H6435angryמָ֣רֵיMa.reiH4751H5315menאֲנָשִׁים֙'a.na.ShimH582will attackיִפְגְּע֣וּyif.ge.'UH6293you,and you and your familyבֵּיתֶֽךָ׃bei.Te.khaH1004will loseוְאָסַפְתָּ֥הve.'a.saf.TahH622your livesH5315.”
26So the Danitesבְנֵי־ דָ֖ןve.nei- danH1121H1835wentוַיֵּלְכ֥וּvai.ye.le.KhuH1980on their wayלְדַרְכָּ֑םle.dar.KamH1870,and Micah turnedוַיִּ֖פֶןvai.Yi.fenH6437to go backוַיָּ֥שָׁב אֶל־vai.Ya.shov 'el-H7725H413homeבֵּיתֽוֹ׃bei.ToH1004,because heמִיכָ֗הmi.KhahH4318sawוַיַּ֣רְאvai.Yar'H7200thatכִּי־ki-H3588theyהֵ֙מָּה֙he.mahH1992were too strongחֲזָקִ֥יםcha.za.KimH2389for himמִמֶּ֔נּוּmi.Me.nuH4480.
27After theyוְהֵ֨מָּהve.He.mahH1992had takenלָקְח֜וּla.ke.ChuH3947Micah’sמִיכָ֗הmi.KhahH4318אֵ֧ת'etH853idolsאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834וְֽאֶת־ve.'EtH853עָשָׂ֣ה'a.SahH6213and his priestהַכֹּהֵן֮ha.ko.HenH3548אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834הָיָה־ha.yah-H1961,they wentוַיָּבֹ֣אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935toעַל־'al-H5921Laishלַ֗יִשׁLa.yishH3919,toעַל־'al-H5921a quietשֹׁקֵ֣טsho.KetH8252and unsuspectingוּבֹטֵ֔חַu.vo.Te.achH982peopleעַם֙'amH5971,and they struckוַיַּכּ֥וּvai.ya.KuH5221themאוֹתָ֖ם לְפִי־'o.Tam le.fi-H853H6310with their swordsחָ֑רֶבCha.revH2719וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and burned downשָׂרְפ֥וּ בָאֵֽשׁ׃sa.re.Fu va.'EshH8313H784the cityהָעִ֖ירha.'IrH5892.
28There was no oneוְאֵ֨יןve.'EinH369to deliver themמַצִּ֜ילma.TzilH5337,becauseכִּ֧יkiH3588the city wasהִ֣יאhi'H1931farרְֽחוֹקָה־re.cho.kah-H7350from Sidonמִצִּיד֗וֹןmi.tzi.DonH6721and had noאֵין־'ein-H369allianceוְדָבָ֤רve.da.VarH1697withעִם־'im-H5973anyoneאָדָ֔ם'a.DamH120;itוְהִ֕יאve.Hi'H1931was in a valleyבָּעֵ֖מֶקba.'E.mekH6010nearאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834Beth-rehobH1050.And the Danites rebuiltוַיִּבְנ֥וּvai.yiv.NuH1129אֶת־'et-H853the cityהָעִ֖ירha.'IrH5892and livedוַיֵּ֥שְׁבוּvai.Ye.she.vuH3427there.
29They namedוַיִּקְרְא֤וּ שֵׁם־vai.yik.re.'U shem-H7121H8034itהָעִיר֙ha.'IrH5892Danדָּ֔ןDanH1835,afterבְּשֵׁם֙be.ShemH8034their forefatherאֲבִיהֶ֔ם'a.vi.HemH1Danדָּ֣ןdanH1835,whoאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834was bornיוּלַּ֖דyu.LadH3205to Israelלְיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לle.Yis.ra.'ElH3478—thoughוְאוּלָ֛םve.'u.LamH199the cityהָעִ֖ירha.'IrH5892was formerlyלָרִאשֹׁנָֽה׃la.ri.sho.NahH7223namedשֵׁם־shem-H8034Laishלַ֥יִשׁLa.yishH3919.
