14Whyעַל־ מָה֙'al- mahH5921 H4100are weאֲנַ֣חְנוּ'a.Nach.nuH587just sitting hereיֹֽשְׁבִ֔יםyo.she.VimH3427?Gather togetherהֵֽאָסְפ֗וּhe.'a.se.FuH622,let us fleeוְנָב֛וֹאve.na.Vo'H935toאֶל־'el-H413the fortifiedהַמִּבְצָ֖רha.miv.TzarH4013citiesעָרֵ֥י'a.ReiH5892and perishוְנִדְּמָה־ve.ni.de.mah-H1826thereשָּׁ֑םShamH8033,forכִּי֩kiH3588the LORDיְהוָ֨הYah.wehH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵ֤ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430has doomed usהֲדִמָּ֙נוּ֙ha.di.Ma.nuH1826.He has given us poisonedרֹ֔אשׁRoshH7219waterמֵי־mei-H4325to drinkוַיַּשְׁקֵ֣נוּvai.yash.Ke.nuH8248,becauseכִּ֥יkiH3588we have sinnedחָטָ֖אנוּcha.Ta.nuH2398against the LORDלַיהוָֽה׃la.Yah.wehH3068.

15We hopedקַוֵּ֥הka.VehH6960for peaceלְשָׁל֖וֹםle.sha.LomH7965,but noוְאֵ֣יןve.'EinH369goodט֑וֹבTovH2896has come,for a timeלְעֵ֥תle.'EtH6256of healingמַרְפֵּ֖הmar.PehH4832,but thereוְהִנֵּ֥הve.hi.NehH2009was only terrorבְעָתָֽה׃ve.'a.TahH1205.

16The snortingנַחְרַ֣תnach.RatH5170of enemy horsesסוּסָ֗יוsu.SavH5483is heardנִשְׁמַע֙nish.Ma'H8085from Danמִדָּ֤ןmi.DanH1835.At the soundמִקּוֹל֙mi.kOlH6963of the neighingמִצְהֲל֣וֹתmitz.ha.LotH4684of mighty steedsאַבִּירָ֔יו'a.bi.RavH47,the wholeכָּל־kol-H3605landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776quakesרָעֲשָׁ֖הra.'a.ShahH7493.They comeוַיָּב֗וֹאוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to devourוַיֹּֽאכְלוּ֙vai.yo.khe.LuH398the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776and everything in itוּמְלוֹאָ֔הּu.me.lo.'AhH4393,the cityעִ֖יר'irH5892and all who dwellוְיֹ֥שְׁבֵיve.Yo.she.veiH3427in it.

17“Forכִּי֩kiH3588beholdהִנְנִ֨יhi.NiH2005,I will sendמְשַׁלֵּ֜חַme.sha.Le.achH7971snakesנְחָשִׁים֙ne.cha.ShimH5175among you,vipersצִפְעֹנִ֔יםtzif.'o.NimH6848thatאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834cannotאֵין־'ein-H369be charmedלָ֑חַשׁLa.chashH3908,and they will biteוְנִשְּׁכ֥וּve.ni.she.KhuH5391youאֶתְכֶ֖ם'et.KhemH853,”declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the LORDיְהוָֽה׃ סYah.wehH3068.

18My sorrowיָג֑וֹןya.GonH3015is beyondעֲלֵ֣י'a.LeiH5921healingמַבְלִ֥יגִיתִ֖יmav.Li.gi.TiH4010;my heartלִבִּ֥יli.BiH3820isfaintדַוָּֽי׃da.VaiH1742within meעָלַ֖י'a.LaiH5921.

19הִנֵּה־hi.neh-H2009Listenק֞וֹלKolH6963to the cryשַֽׁוְעַ֣תshav.'AtH7775of the daughterבַּת־bat-H1323of my peopleעַמִּ֗י'a.MiH5971from a land far awayמֵאֶ֙רֶץ֙ מַרְחַקִּ֔יםme.'E.retz mar.cha.KimH4801 H776: “Is the LORDהַֽיהוָה֙ha.Yah.wehH3068noאֵ֣ין'einH369longer in Zionבְּצִיּ֔וֹןbe.tzi.YonH6726?Is herאִם־'im-H518Kingמַלְכָּ֖הּmal.KahH4428no longerאֵ֣ין'einH369there?” “Whyמַדּ֗וּעַma.Du.a'H4069have they provoked Me to angerהִכְעִס֛וּנִיhikh.'i.Su.niH3707with their carved imagesבִּפְסִלֵיהֶ֖םbif.si.lei.HemH6456,with their worthless foreignנֵכָֽר׃ne.KharH5236idolsבְּהַבְלֵ֥יbe.hav.LeiH1892?”

20“The harvestקָצִ֖ירka.TzirH7105has passedעָבַ֥ר'a.VarH5674,the summerקָ֑יִץKa.yitzH7019has endedכָּ֣לָהKa.lahH3615,but weוַאֲנַ֖חְנוּva.'a.Nach.nuH587have notל֥וֹאLo'H3808been savedנוֹשָֽׁעְנוּ׃no.Sha.'e.nuH3467.”

21Forעַל־'al-H5921the brokennessשֶׁ֥בֶרShe.verH7667of the daughterבַּת־bat-H1323of my peopleעַמִּ֖י'a.MiH5971I am crushedהָשְׁבָּ֑רְתִּיha.she.Ba.re.tiH7665.I mournקָדַ֕רְתִּיka.Dar.tiH6937;horrorשַׁמָּ֖הsha.MahH8047has gripped meהֶחֱזִקָֽתְנִי׃he.che.zi.Ka.te.niH2388.
