2Their heartsלִבָּ֖םli.BamH3820are deviousחָלַ֥קcha.LakH2505;nowעַתָּ֣ה'a.TahH6258they must bear their guiltיֶאְשָׁ֑מוּye'.Sha.muH816.The LORDה֚וּאhu'H1931will break downיַעֲרֹ֣ףya.'a.RofH6202their altarsמִזְבְּחוֹתָ֔םmiz.be.cho.TamH4196and demolishיְשֹׁדֵ֖דye.sho.DedH7703their sacred pillarsמַצֵּבוֹתָֽם׃ma.tze.vo.TamH4676.

7Samariaשֹׁמְר֖וֹןsho.me.RonH8111will be carried offנִדְמֶ֥הnid.MehH1820withher kingמַלְכָּ֑הּmal.KahH4428like a twigכְּקֶ֖צֶףke.Ke.tzefH7110onעַל־'al-H5921the surfaceפְּנֵי־pe.nei-H6440of the waterמָֽיִם׃Ma.yimH4325.

8The high placesבָּמ֣וֹתba.MotH1116of AvenH205will be destroyedוְנִשְׁמְד֞וּve.nish.me.DuH8045— it isthe sinחַטַּאת֙cha.taTH2403of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478;thornsק֣וֹץKotzH6975and thistlesוְדַרְדַּ֔רve.dar.DarH1863will overgrowיַעֲלֶ֖ה עַל־ya.'a.Leh 'al-H5927 H5921their altarsמִזְבְּחוֹתָ֑םmiz.be.cho.TamH4196.Then they will sayוְאָמְר֤וּve.'a.me.RuH559to the mountainsלֶֽהָרִים֙le.ha.RimH2022, “Cover usכַּסּ֔וּנוּka.Su.nuH3680!”and to the hillsוְלַגְּבָע֖וֹתve.la.ge.va.'otH1389, “Fallנִפְל֥וּnif.LuH5307on usעָלֵֽינוּ׃ ס'a.Lei.nuH5921!”

10I will chasten themוְאֶסֳּרֵ֑םve.'e.so.RemH3256when I pleaseבְּאַוָּתִ֖יbe.'a.va.TiH185;nationsעַמִּ֔ים'a.MimH5971will be gatheredוְאֻסְּפ֤וּve.'u.se.FuH622against themעֲלֵיהֶם֙'a.lei.HemH5921to put them in bondageבְּאָסְרָ֖םbe.'a.se.RamH631for their doubleלִשְׁתֵּ֥יlish.TeiH8147transgressionH5869.

11Ephraimוְאֶפְרַ֜יִםve.'ef.Ra.yimH669is a well-trainedמְלֻמָּדָה֙me.lu.ma.DahH3925heiferעֶגְלָ֤ה'eg.LahH5697that lovesאֹהַ֣בְתִּי'o.Hav.tiH157to threshלָד֔וּשׁla.DushH1758;but Iוַאֲנִ֣יva.'a.NiH589will place a yokeעָבַ֔רְתִּי'a.Var.tiH5674onעַל־'al-H5921her fairט֖וּבtuvH2898neckצַוָּארָ֑הּtza.va.RahH6677.I will harnessאַרְכִּ֤יב'ar.KivH7392Ephraimאֶפְרַ֙יִם֙'ef.Ra.yimH669,Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063will plowיַחֲר֣וֹשׁya.cha.Ro.oshH2790, andJacobיַעֲקֹֽב׃ya.'a.KoH3290will break the hard groundיְשַׂדֶּד־ye.sa.ded-H7702.

12Sowזִרְע֨וּzir.'UH2232for yourselvesrighteousnessלִצְדָקָה֙litz.da.KahH6666and reap the fruitקִצְר֣וּ לְפִי־kitz.Ru le.fi-H7114 H6310of loving devotionחֶ֔סֶדChe.sedH2617;break upנִ֥ירוּNi.ruH5214yourunplowed groundנִ֑ירNirH5215.For it is timeוְעֵת֙ve.'EtH6256to seekלִדְר֣וֹשׁlid.Ro.oshH1875אֶת־'et-H853the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068untilעַד־'ad-H5704He comesיָב֕וֹאya.Vo'H935and sends righteousnessצֶ֖דֶקTze.dekH6664upon youlike rainוְיֹרֶ֥הve.yo.RehH3384.

13You have plowedחֲרַשְׁתֶּם־cha.rash.tem-H2790wickednessרֶ֛שַׁעRe.sha'H7562and reapedקְצַרְתֶּ֖םke.tzar.TemH7114injusticeעַוְלָ֥תָה'av.La.tahH5766;you have eatenאֲכַלְתֶּ֣ם'a.khal.TemH398the fruitפְּרִי־pe.ri-H6529of liesכָ֑חַשׁKha.chashH3585.Becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588you have trustedבָטַ֥חְתָּva.Tach.taH982in your own wayבְדַרְכְּךָ֖ve.dar.ke.KhaH1870and in the multitudeבְּרֹ֥בbe.RoH7230of your mighty menגִּבּוֹרֶֽיךָ׃gi.bo.Rei.khaH1368,

14the roar of battleשָׁאוֹן֮sha.'OnH7588will riseוְקָ֣אםve.KamH6965against your peopleבְּעַמֶּךָ֒be.'a.me.KhaH5971,so that allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605your fortressesמִבְצָרֶ֣יךָmiv.tza.Rei.khaH4013will be demolishedיוּשַּׁ֔דyu.ShadH7703as Shalmanשַֽׁלְמַ֛ןshal.ManH8020בֵּ֥יתbeitH1009devastatedכְּשֹׁ֧דke.ShodH7701Beth-arbelאַֽרְבֵ֖אל'ar.VelH1009in the dayבְּי֣וֹםbe.YomH3117of battleמִלְחָמָ֑הmil.cha.MahH4421,when mothersאֵ֥ם'emH517were dashed to piecesרֻטָּֽשָׁה׃ru.Ta.shahH7376along withעַל־'al-H5921their childrenבָּנִ֖יםba.NimH1121.
