23Ifכִּ֤יkiH3588there isיִהְיֶה֙yih.YehH1961a virginנַעֲרָ֣ה בְתוּלָ֔הna.'ar ve.tu.LahH5291 H1330pledged in marriageמְאֹרָשָׂ֖הme.'o.ra.SahH781to a manלְאִ֑ישׁle.'IshH376,and another manאִ֛ישׁ'ishH376encounters herוּמְצָאָ֥הּu.me.tza.'AhH4672in the cityבָּעִ֖ירba.'IrH5892and sleepsוְשָׁכַ֥בve.sha.KhavH7901with herעִמָּֽהּ׃'i.MahH5973,

24you must take bothשְׁנֵיהֶ֜םshe.nei.HemH8147of them outוְהוֹצֵאתֶ֨םve.ho.tze.TemH3318אֶת־'et-H853toאֶל־'el-H413the gateשַׁ֣עַר׀Sha.'arH8179of thatהַהִ֗ואha.Hiv'H1931cityהָעִ֣ירha.'IrH5892and stoneוּסְקַלְתֶּ֨םu.se.kal.TemH5619אֹתָ֥ם'o.TamH853themבָּאֲבָנִים֮ba.'a.va.NimH68to deathוָמֵתוּ֒va.me.TuH4191אֶת־'et-H853—the young womanהַֽנַּעֲרָ֗הha.na.'arH5291becauseעַל־ דְּבַר֙'al- de.VarH5921 H1697אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834she did notלֹא־lo'-H3808cry outצָעֲקָ֣הtza.'a.KahH6817in the cityבָעִ֔ירva.'IrH5892וְאֶ֨ת־ve.'EtH853,and the manהָאִ֔ישׁha.'IshH376becauseעַל־ דְּבַ֥ר'al- de.VarH5921 H1697אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834he has violatedעִנָּ֖ה'i.NahH6031אֶת־'et-H853his neighbor’sרֵעֵ֑הוּre.'E.huH7453wifeאֵ֣שֶׁת'E.shetH802.So you must purgeוּבִֽעַרְתָּ֥u.vi.'ar.TaH1197the evilהָרָ֖עha.Ra'H7451from among youמִקִּרְבֶּֽךָ׃ סmi.kir.Be.chaH7130.

25But ifוְֽאִם־ve.'im-H518the manהָאִ֗ישׁha.'IshH376אֶת־'et-H853encountersיִמְצָ֣אyim.Tza'H4672a betrothedהַמְאֹ֣רָשָׂ֔הham.'O.ra.SahH781womanהַֽנַּעֲרָה֙ha.na.'arH5291in the open countryבַּשָּׂדֶ֞הba.sa.DehH7704,and heהָאִ֖ישׁha.'IshH376overpowersוְהֶחֱזִֽיק־ve.he.che.zik-H2388herand liesוְשָׁכַ֣בve.sha.KhavH7901with herעִמָּ֑הּ'i.MahH5973,onlyלְבַדּֽוֹ׃le.va.DoH905the manהָאִ֛ישׁha.'IshH376whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834has done thisשָׁכַ֥ב עִמָּ֖הּsha.Khav 'i.MahH7901 H5973must dieוּמֵ֗תu.MetH4191.

26Doתַעֲשֶׂ֣הta.'a.SehH6213nothingלֹא־ דָבָ֔רlo'- da.VarH3808 H1697to the young womanוְלַֽנַּעֲרָה֙ve.la.na.'arH5291,becauseכִּ֡יkiH3588sheלַֽנַּעֲרָ֖הla.na.'arH5291has committednoאֵ֥ין'einH369sinחֵ֣טְאchet'H2399worthyof deathמָ֑וֶתMa.vetH4194.Thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088caseהַדָּבָ֥רha.da.VarH1697is just likeכַּאֲשֶׁר֩ka.'a.SherH834one in which a manאִ֤ישׁ עַל־'ish 'al-H376 H5921attacksיָק֨וּםya.KumH6965his neighborרֵעֵ֙הוּ֙re.'E.huH7453and murders himוּרְצָח֣וֹ נֶ֔פֶשׁ כֵּ֖ןu.re.tza.Cho Ne.fesh kenH7523 H5315 H3651.

27Whenכִּ֥יkiH3588he found herמְצָאָ֑הּme.tza.'AhH4672in the fieldבַשָּׂדֶ֖הva.sa.DehH7704,the betrothedהַמְאֹ֣רָשָׂ֔הham.'O.ra.SahH781womanהַֽנַּעֲרָה֙ha.na.'arH5291cried outצָעֲקָ֗הtza.'a.KahH6817,but there was no oneוְאֵ֥יןve.'EinH369to saveמוֹשִׁ֖יעַmo.Shi.a'H3467her.

28Ifכִּֽי־ki-H3588a manאִ֗ישׁ'IshH376encountersיִמְצָ֣אyim.Tza'H4672a virginנַעֲרָ֤ה בְתוּלָה֙na.'ar ve.tu.LahH5291 H1330whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834is notלֹא־lo'-H3808pledged in marriageאֹרָ֔שָׂה'o.Ra.sahH781,and he seizes herוּתְפָשָׂ֖הּu.te.fa.SahH8610and liesוְשָׁכַ֣בve.sha.KhavH7901with herעִמָּ֑הּ'i.MahH5973,and they are discoveredוְנִמְצָֽאוּ׃ve.nim.Tza.'uH4672,

29then the manהָאִ֨ישׁha.'IshH376who layהַשֹּׁכֵ֥בha.sho.KhevH7901with herעִמָּ֛הּ'i.MahH5973must payוְ֠נָתַןVe.na.tanH5414the young woman’sהַֽנַּעֲרָ֖הha.na.'arH5291fatherלַאֲבִ֥יla.'a.ViH1fiftyחֲמִשִּׁ֣יםcha.mi.ShimH2572shekelsof silverכָּ֑סֶףKa.sefH3701, andshe must becomeתִהְיֶ֣הtih.YehH1961his wifeלְאִשָּׁ֗הle.'i.ShahH802becauseתַּ֚חַתTa.chatH8478אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834he has violated herעִנָּ֔הּ'i.NahH6031.He must notלֹא־ יוּכַ֥לlo'- yu.KhalH3808 H3201divorce herשַׁלְּחָ֖הsha.le.ChahH7971asכָּל־kol-H3605long as he livesיָמָֽיו׃ סya.MavH3117.
