25Then the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Zadokלְצָד֔וֹקle.tza.DokH6659, “Returnהָשֵׁ֛בha.ShevH7725אֶת־'et-H853the arkאֲר֥וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430to the cityהָעִ֑ירha.'IrH5892.Ifאִם־'im-H518I findאֶמְצָ֥א'em.Tza'H4672favorחֵן֙chenH2580in the eyesבְּעֵינֵ֣יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,He will bring me backוֶהֱשִׁבַ֕נִיve.he.shi.Va.niH7725and let me seeוְהִרְאַ֥נִיve.hir.'A.niH7200bothitאֹת֖וֹ'o.ToH853andוְאֶת־ve.'EtH853His dwelling place againנָוֵֽהוּ׃na.Ve.huH5116.

26But ifוְאִם֙ כֹּ֣הve.'Im kohH518 H3541He should sayיֹאמַ֔רyo.MarH559, ‘I do notלֹ֥אlo'H3808delightחָפַ֖צְתִּיcha.Fatz.tiH2654in you,’then here I amהִנְנִ֕יhi.NiH2005;let Him doיַֽעֲשֶׂה־ya.'a.seh-H6213to mewhateverכַּאֲשֶׁ֥רka.'a.SherH834seems goodט֖וֹבTovH2895to Himבְּעֵינָֽיו׃ סbe.'ei.NavH5869.”

27The kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428also saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toאֶל־'el-H413Zadokצָד֣וֹקtza.DokH6659the priestהַכֹּהֵ֔ןha.ko.HenH3548, “Are you nota seerהֲרוֹאֶ֣ה אַתָּ֔הha.ro.'Eh 'a.TahH7200 H859?Returnשֻׁ֥בָהShu.vahH7725to the cityהָעִ֖ירha.'IrH5892in peaceבְּשָׁל֑וֹםbe.sha.LomH7965—you withyour sonבִּנְךָ֜bin.KhaH1121Ahimaazוַאֲחִימַ֨עַץva.'a.chi.Ma.'atzH290,and Abiatharאֶבְיָתָ֛ר'ev.ya.TarH54with his sonבֶּן־ben-H1121Jonathanוִיהוֹנָתָ֧ןvi.ho.na.TanH3083שְׁנֵ֥יshe.NeiH8147בְנֵיכֶ֖םve.nei.KhemH1121אִתְּכֶֽם׃'i.te.KhemH854.

28Seeרְאוּ֙re.'UH7200,I willאָנֹכִ֣י'a.no.KhiH595waitמִתְמַהְמֵ֔הַּmit.mah.Me.ahH4102at the fordsH5679of the wildernessהַמִּדְבָּ֑רha.mid.BarH4057untilעַ֣ד'adH5704wordדָבָ֛רda.VarH1697comesבּ֥וֹאBo'H935from youמֵעִמָּכֶ֖םme.'i.ma.KhemH5973to informלְהַגִּ֥ידle.ha.GidH5046me.”

29So Zadokצָד֧וֹקtza.DokH6659and Abiatharוְאֶבְיָתָ֛רve.'ev.ya.TarH54אֶת־'et-H853returnedוַיָּ֨שֶׁבvai.Ya.shevH7725the arkאֲר֥וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430to Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָ֑םye.ru.sha.LimH3389and stayedוַיֵּשְׁב֖וּvai.ye.she.VuH3427thereשָֽׁם׃ShamH8033.

31Now someone toldהִגִּ֣ידhi.GidH5046לֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559Davidוְדָוִד֙ve.da.VidH1732: “Ahithophelאֲחִיתֹ֥פֶל'a.chi.To.felH302isamong the conspiratorsבַּקֹּשְׁרִ֖יםba.ko.she.RimH7194withעִם־'im-H5973Absalomאַבְשָׁל֑וֹם'av.sha.LomH53.”So Davidדָּוִ֔דda.VidH1732pleadedוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “O LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068,pleaseנָ֛אna'H4994אֶת־'et-H853turn the counselעֲצַ֥ת'a.TzatH6098of Ahithophelאֲחִיתֹ֖פֶל'a.chi.To.felH302into foolishnessסַכֶּל־sa.kel-H5528!”

32Whenוַיְהִ֤יvay.HiH1961Davidדָוִד֙da.VidH1732cameבָּ֣אba'H935toעַד־'ad-H5704the summitהָרֹ֔אשׁha.RoshH7218,whereאֲשֶֽׁר־'a.Sher-H834he used to worshipיִשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֥ה שָׁ֖םyish.ta.cha.Veh shamH7812 H8033Godלֵאלֹהִ֑יםle.lo.HimH430,Hushaiחוּשַׁ֣יchu.ShaiH2365the Architeהָאַרְכִּ֔יha.'ar.KiH757was thereוְהִנֵּ֤הve.hi.NehH2009to meet himלִקְרָאתוֹ֙lik.ra.ToH7122with his robeכֻּתָּנְתּ֔וֹku.ta.ne.ToH3801tornקָר֙וּעַ֙ka.Ru.a'H7167and dustוַאֲדָמָ֖הva.'a.da.MahH127onעַל־'al-H5921his headרֹאשֽׁוֹ׃ro.ShoH7218.

33Davidדָּוִ֑דda.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, “Ifאִ֚ם'imH518you go onעָבַ֣רְתָּ'a.Var.taH5674with meאִתִּ֔י'i.TiH854,you will beוְהָיִ֥תָve.ha.Yi.taH1961a burdenלְמַשָּֽׂא׃le.ma.Sa'H4853to meעָלַ֖י'a.LaiH5921.

34But you can thwartוְהֵפַרְתָּ֣הve.he.far.TahH6565אֵ֖ת'etH853the counselעֲצַ֥ת'a.TzatH6098of Ahithophelאֲחִיתֹֽפֶל׃'a.chi.To.felH302for meifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518you returnתָּשׁ֗וּבta.ShuvH7725to the cityהָעִ֣ירha.'IrH5892and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֤ve.'a.mar.TaH559to Absalomלְאַבְשָׁלוֹם֙le.'av.sha.lOmH53: ‘Iאֲנִ֤י'a.NiH589will beאֶֽהְיֶ֔ה'eh.YehH1961your servantעַבְדְּךָ֨'av.de.KhaH5650,my kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428;in the pastמֵאָ֔זme.'AzH227Iוַֽאֲנִי֙va.'a.NiH589was your father’sאָבִ֤יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1servantעֶ֣בֶד'E.vedH5650,but nowוְעַתָּ֖הve.'a.TahH6258Iוַאֲנִ֣יva.'a.NiH589will be your servantעַבְדֶּ֑ךָ'av.De.khaH5650.’
