17Thenוְהָיָ֗הve.ha.YahH1961Jehuיֵה֑וּאye.Hu'H3058will put to deathיָמִ֣יתya.MitH4191whoever escapesהַנִּמְלָ֛טha.nim.LatH4422the swordמֵחֶ֥רֶבme.Che.revH2719of Hazaelחֲזָאֵ֖לcha.za.'ElH2371,and Elishaאֱלִישָֽׁע׃'e.li.Sha'H477will put to deathיָמִ֥יתya.MitH4191whoever escapesוְהַנִּמְלָ֛טve.ha.nim.LatH4422the swordמֵחֶ֥רֶבme.Che.revH2719of Jehuיֵה֖וּאye.Hu'H3058.
18Nevertheless, I have reservedוְהִשְׁאַרְתִּ֥יve.hish.'ar.TiH7604sevenשִׁבְעַ֣תshiv.'AtH7651thousandאֲלָפִ֑ים'a.la.FimH505in Israelבְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לve.Yis.ra.'ElH3478—allכָּל־kol-H3605whoseאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834kneesהַבִּרְכַּ֗יִםha.bir.Ka.yimH1290have notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808bowedכָֽרְעוּ֙kha.re.'UH3766to Baalלַבַּ֔עַלla.Ba.'alH1168andוְכָ֨ל־ve.kholH3605whosemouthsהַפֶּ֔הha.PehH6310אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834have notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808kissedנָשַׁ֖קna.ShakH5401him.”
19So Elijah departedוַיֵּ֣לֶךְ מִ֠שָּׁםvai.Ye.lekh Mi.shomH1980H8033and foundוַיִּמְצָ֞אvai.yim.Tza'H4672אֶת־'et-H853Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֤ע'e.li.Sha'H477sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Shaphatשָׁפָט֙sha.FatH8202.Heוְה֣וּאve.Hu'H1931was plowingחֹרֵ֔שׁcho.ReshH2790with twelveשְׁנֵים־ עָשָׂ֤רshe.neim- 'a.SarH8147H6240teamsצְמָדִים֙tze.ma.DimH6776of oxenלְפָנָ֔יוle.fa.NavH6440,and heוְה֖וּאve.Hu'H1931was with the twelfthבִּשְׁנֵ֣ים הֶעָשָׂ֑רbish.Neim he.'a.SarH8147H6240team.Elijahאֵלִיָּ֙הוּ֙'e.li.Ya.huH452passedוַיַּעֲבֹ֤רvai.ya.'a.VorH5674by himאֵלָ֔יו'e.LavH413and threwוַיַּשְׁלֵ֥ךְvai.yash.LekhH7993his cloakאַדַּרְתּ֖וֹ'a.dar.ToH155around himאֵלָֽיו׃'e.LavH413.
20So Elisha leftוַיַּעֲזֹ֣בvai.ya.'a.ZoH5800אֶת־'et-H853the oxenהַבָּקָ֗רha.ba.KarH1241,ranוַיָּ֙רָץ֙vai.Ya.rotzH7323afterאַחֲרֵ֣י'a.cha.ReiH310Elijahאֵֽלִיָּ֔הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452,and saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Pleaseנָּא֙na'H4994let me kissאֶשְּׁקָה־'e.she.kah-H5401my fatherלְאָבִ֣יle.'a.ViH1and motherוּלְאִמִּ֔יu.le.'i.MiH517goodbye,and then I will followוְאֵלְכָ֖הve.'e.le.KhahH1980youאַחֲרֶ֑יךָ'a.cha.Rei.khaH310.” “Go onלֵ֣ךְlekhH1980backשׁ֔וּבShuvH7725,” Elijahrepliedוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “forכִּ֥יkiH3588whatמֶה־meh-H4100have I doneעָשִׂ֖יתִי'a.Si.tiH6213to you?”
21So Elisha turned backוַיָּ֨שָׁבvai.Ya.shovH7725from himמֵאַחֲרָ֜יוme.'a.cha.RavH310,tookוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947אֶת־'et-H853his pairצֶ֧מֶדTze.medH6776of oxenהַבָּקָ֣רha.ba.KarH1241,and slaughtered themוַיִּזְבָּחֵ֗הוּvai.yiz.ba.Che.huH2076.Using the oxen’sהַבָּקָר֙ha.ba.KarH1241equipmentוּבִכְלִ֤יu.vikh.LiH3627for fuel,he cookedבִּשְּׁלָ֣םbi.she.LamH1310the meatהַבָּשָׂ֔רha.ba.SarH1320and gaveוַיִּתֵּ֥ןvai.yi.TenH5414it to the peopleלָעָ֖םla.'AmH5971,and they ateוַיֹּאכֵ֑לוּvai.yo.Khe.luH398.Then he set outוַיָּ֗קָםvai.Ya.komH6965to followוַיֵּ֛לֶךְ אַחֲרֵ֥יvai.Ye.lekh 'a.cha.ReiH1980H310and serveוַיְשָׁרְתֵֽהוּ׃ פvay.sha.re.Te.huH8334Elijahאֵלִיָּ֖הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452.
