4And thecityהָעִ֗ירha.'IrH5892was brokenupוַתִּבָּקַ֣עva.ti.ba.Ka'H1234, and all themenאַנְשֵׁ֨י'an.SheiH582ofwarהַמִּלְחָמָ֤ה׀ha.mil.cha.MahH4421fled bynightהַלַּ֙יְלָה֙ha.Lay.lahH3915by thewayדֶּ֜רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of thegateשַׁ֣עַר׀Sha.'arH8179between twowallsהַחֹמֹתַ֗יִםha.cho.mo.Ta.yimH2346, which is by theking’sהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428gardenגַּ֣ןganH1588: (now theChaldeesוְכַשְׂדִּ֥יםve.khas.DimH3778were against thecityהָעִ֖ירha.'IrH5892on allsidesסָבִ֑יבsa.VivH5439:) and the kingwentH3212thewayדֶּ֥רֶךְDe.rekhH1870toward theplainהָעֲרָבָֽה׃ha.'a.ra.VahH6160.

5And thearmyחֵיל־cheil-H2428of theChaldeesכַּשְׂדִּים֙kas.DimH3778pursuedוַיִּרְדְּפ֤וּ אַחַ֣רvai.yir.de.Fu 'a.CharH7291 H310thekingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428, andovertookוַיַּשִּׂ֥גוּvai.ya.Si.guH5381him in theplainsבְּעַרְב֣וֹתbe.'ar.VotH6160ofJerichoיְרֵח֑וֹye.re.ChoH3405: and all hisarmyחֵיל֔וֹchei.LoH2428werescatteredנָפֹ֖צוּna.Fo.tzuH6327from him.

6So theytookוַֽיִּתְפְּשׂוּ֙vai.yit.pe.SuH8610thekingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428, and broughthimוַיַּעֲל֥וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927to thekingמֶ֥לֶךְMe.lekhH4428ofBabylonבָּבֶ֖לba.VelH894toRiblahרִבְלָ֑תָהriv.La.tahH7247; and theypronouncedוַיְדַבְּר֥וּvay.da.be.RuH1696sentenceמִשְׁפָּֽט׃mish.PatH4941upon him.
