Jeremiah 23:9-22

Concerning the prophetsH5030. Mine heartH3820 withinH7130 meH6440 is brokenH7665, allH3605 my bonesH6106 shake; I am like a drunkenH7910 manH376, and like a manH376 whom wineH3196 hath overcome; becauseH6440 of the LORDH3068, and becauseH6440 of his holyH6944 wordsH1697.

For the landH776 is fullH4390 of adulterersH5003; for becauseH3588 of swearing the landH776 mourneth; the pasturesH4999 of the wildernessH4057 are driedH3001 upH3001; and their courseH4794 is evilH7451, and their force is notH3808 rightH3651.

for bothH1571 prophetH5030 and priestH3548 are profane; yeaH3588, in my houseH1004 have I foundH4672 their wickednessH7451, saith the LORDH3068.

Wherefore their wayH1870 shall be unto them as slipperyH2519 placesH3651 in the darknessH653: they shall be driven on, and fallH5307 therein: for I will bringH935 evilH7451 uponH5921 them, evenH3588 the yearH8141 of their visitation, saith the LORDH3068.

And I have seenH7200 follyH8604 in the prophetsH5030 of SamariaH8111; they prophesiedH5012 by BaalH1168, and caused my peopleH5971 IsraelH3478 to errH8582.

In the prophetsH5030 of JerusalemH3389 also I have seenH7200 an horrible thingH7451; they commitH5003 adulteryH5003, and walkH1980 in liesH8267, and they strengthenH2388 the handsH3027 of evil-doers, that noneH3605 doth returnH7725 from his wickednessH7451: they are allH3605 of them becomeH1961 unto meH7725 as SodomH5467, and the inhabitantsH3427 thereof as GomorrahH6017.

Therefore thusH3541 saith the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635 concerning the prophetsH5030: BeholdH2005, I will feedH398 them with wormwoodH3939, and makeH3588 them drinkH8248 the waterH4325 of gallH7219: for from the prophetsH5030 of JerusalemH3389 is profaneness goneH3318 forthH3318 intoH5921 allH3605 the landH776.

ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, Hearken notH3808 unto the wordsH1697 of the prophetsH5030 that prophesyH5012 unto youH5921; they teach youH5921 vanity: they speakH1696 a visionH2377 of their own heartH3820, and notH3808 outH5921 of the mouthH6310 of the LORDH3068.

They sayH559 continuallyH1980 unto them that despiseH5006 meH5921, The LORDH3068 hath saidH559, Ye shall have peaceH7965; and unto everyH3605 one that walketh in the stubbornnessH8307 of his ownH1961 heartH3820 they sayH559, NoH3808 evilH7451 shall comeH935 uponH5921 youH3605.

For who hath stoodH5975 in the councilH5475 of the LORDH3068, that he should perceiveH7200 and hearH8085 his wordH1697? who hath marked my wordH1697, and heardH8085 it?

BeholdH2009, the tempestH5591 of the LORDH3068, evenH5921 his furyH2534, is goneH3318 forthH3318, yea, a whirling tempestH5591: it shall burst uponH5921 the headH7218 of the wickedH7563.

The angerH639 of the LORDH3068 shall notH3808 returnH7725, untilH5704 he have executed, and tillH5704 he have performed the intents of his heartH3820: in the latterH319 daysH3117 ye shall understandH995 it perfectly.

I sentH7971 notH3808 theseH1992 prophetsH5030, yet they ranH7323: I spake notH3808 unto them, yet they prophesiedH5012.

But ifH518 they had stoodH5975 in my councilH5475, then had they causedH1697 my peopleH5971 to hearH8085 my wordsH1697, and had turnedH7725 them from their evilH7451 wayH1870, and from the evilH7451 of their doingsH1697.
