20And it came to pass, when all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478heardכִּשְׁמֹ֤עַkish.Mo.a'H8085that Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֔םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379was come againשָׁ֣בshavH7725,that they sentוַֽיִּשְׁלְח֗וּvai.yish.le.ChuH7971and calledוַיִּקְרְא֤וּvai.yik.re.'UH7121him unto the congregationהָ֣עֵדָ֔הha.'e.DahH5712,and made him kingוַיַּמְלִ֥יכוּvai.yam.Li.khuH4427over all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478:there was none that followedאַחֲרֵ֣י'a.cha.ReiH310the houseבֵית־veit-H1004of Davidדָּוִ֔דda.VidH1732,butזוּלָתִ֥יzu.la.TiH2108the tribeשֵֽׁבֶט־she.vet-H7626of Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063only.

21And when Rehoboamרְחַבְעָם֮re.chav.'AmH7346was comeוַיָּבֹ֣אvai.ya.vo.'u'H935to Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַם֒ye.ru.sha.LimH3389,he assembledוַיַּקְהֵל֩vai.yak.HelH6950all the houseבֵּ֨יתbeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָ֜הye.hu.DahH3063,with the tribeשֵׁ֣בֶטShe.vetH7626of Benjaminבִּנְיָמִ֗ןbin.ya.MinH1144,an hundredמֵאָ֨הme.'AhH3967and fourscoreוּשְׁמֹנִ֥יםu.she.mo.NimH8084thousandאֶ֛לֶף'E.lefH505chosen menבָּח֖וּרba.ChurH977,which were warriorsעֹשֵׂ֣ה מִלְחָמָ֑ה'o.Seh mil.cha.MahH4421 H6213,to fightלְהִלָּחֵם֙le.hi.la.ChemH3898against the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,to bringH7725the kingdomהַמְּלוּכָ֔הha.me.lu.KhahH4410againH7725to Rehoboamלִרְחַבְעָ֖םlir.chav.'AmH7346the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Solomonשְׁלֹמֹֽה׃ פshe.lo.MohH8010.

22But the wordדְּבַ֣רde.VarH1697of Godהָֽאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430came unto Shemaiahשְׁמַעְיָ֥הshe.ma'.YahH8098the manאִישׁ־'ish-H376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

23Speakאֱמֹ֗ר'e.MorH559unto Rehoboamרְחַבְעָ֤םre.chav.'AmH7346,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Solomonשְׁלֹמֹה֙she.lo.MohH8010,kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063,and unto all the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063and Benjaminוּבִנְיָמִ֑יןu.vin.ya.MinH1144,and to the remnantוְיֶ֥תֶרve.Ye.terH3499of the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

24Thus saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559Yhwhיְהוָ֡הYah.wehH3068,Ye shall not go upתַעֲלוּ֩ta.'a.LuH5927,nor fightתִלָּ֨חֲמ֜וּןti.La.cha.MunH3898against your brethrenאֲחֵיכֶ֣ם'a.chei.KhemH251the childrenבְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478:returnשׁ֚וּבוּShu.vuH7725every manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376to his houseלְבֵית֔וֹle.vei.ToH1004;for this thingהַדָּבָ֣רha.da.VarH1697isנִהְיָ֖הnih.YahH1961from me. 25Then Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֧םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379builtוַיִּ֨בֶןvai.Yi.venH1129Shechemשְׁכֶ֛םshe.KhemH7927in mountבְּהַ֥רbe.HarH2022Ephraimאֶפְרַ֖יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669,and dweltוַיֵּ֣שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427therein; and went outוַיֵּצֵ֣אvai.ye.Tze'H3318from thence, and builtוַיִּ֖בֶןvai.Yi.venH1129Penuelפְּנוּאֵֽל׃pe.nu.'ElH6439.

29And he setוַיָּ֥שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760the oneהָאֶחָ֖דha.'e.ChadH259in Beth–elH1008,and the otherהָאֶחָ֖דha.'e.ChadH259putנָתַ֥ןna.TanH5414he in Danבְּדָֽן׃be.DanH1835.

30And this thingהַדָּבָ֥רha.da.VarH1697became a sinלְחַטָּ֑אתle.cha.TatH2403:for the peopleהָעָ֛םha.'AmH5971wentH3212to worshipbeforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the oneהָאֶחָ֖דha.'e.ChadH259, evenunto Danדָּֽן׃DanH1835.

31And he madeוַיַּ֖עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213an houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of high placesבָּמ֑וֹתba.MotH1116,and madeוַיַּ֤עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213priestsכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ko.ha.NimH3548of the lowestמִקְצ֣וֹתmik.TzotH7098of the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971,which were not of the sonsמִבְּנֵ֥יmi.be.NeiH1121of Leviלֵוִֽי׃le.ViH3878.

32And Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֣ם׀ya.ra.ve.'AmH3379ordainedוַיַּ֣עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213a feastחָ֡גchagH2282in the eighthהַשְּׁמִינִ֣יha.she.mi.NiH8066monthבַּחֹ֣דֶשׁba.Cho.deshH2320,on the fifteenthבַּחֲמִשָּֽׁה־ עָשָׂר֩ba.cha.mi.shah- 'a.SarH6240 H2568dayי֨וֹם׀YomH3117of the monthלַחֹ֜דֶשׁla.Cho.deshH2320,like unto the feastכֶּחָ֣ג׀ke.ChagH2282that isin Judahבִּיהוּדָ֗הbi.hu.DahH3063,and he offeredוַיַּ֙עַל֙vai.Ya.'alH5927upon the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַha.miz.Be.achH4196.So didעָשָׂה֙'a.SahH6213he in Beth–elH1008,sacrificingלְזַבֵּ֖חַle.za.Be.achH2076unto the calvesלָעֲגָלִ֣יםla.'a.ga.LimH5695that he had madeעָשָׂ֑ה'a.SahH6213:and he placedוְהֶעֱמִיד֙ve.he.'e.MidH5975in Beth–elH1008the priestsכֹּהֲנֵ֥יko.ha.NeiH3548of the high placesהַבָּמ֖וֹתha.ba.MotH1116which he had madeעָשָֽׂה׃'a.SahH6213.
