19So Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478has been in rebellionוַיִּפְשְׁע֤וּvai.yif.she.'UH6586against the houseבְּבֵ֣יתbe.VeitH1004of Davidדָּוִ֔דda.VidH1732to thisהַזֶּֽה׃ סha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117.

20It cameH1961about when allכָּל־kol-H3605Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478heardכִּשְׁמֹ֤עַkish.Mo.a'H8085that Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֔םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379had returnedשָׁ֣בshavH7725,that they sentוַֽיִּשְׁלְח֗וּvai.yish.le.ChuH7971and calledוַיִּקְרְא֤וּvai.yik.re.'UH7121him to the assemblyהָ֣עֵדָ֔הha.'e.DahH5712and madeH4427him kingוַיַּמְלִ֥יכוּvai.yam.Li.khuH4427overעַל־'al-H5921allכָּל־kol-H3605Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478.Noneלֹ֤אlo'H3808but the tribeשֵֽׁבֶט־she.vet-H7626of Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063followedאַחֲרֵ֣י'a.cha.ReiH310the houseבֵית־veit-H1004of Davidדָּוִ֔דda.VidH1732.

21Now when Rehoboamרְחַבְעָם֮re.chav.'AmH7346had comeוַיָּבֹ֣אvai.ya.vo.'u'H935to Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַם֒ye.ru.sha.LimH3389,he assembledוַיַּקְהֵל֩vai.yak.HelH6950allכָּל־kol-H3605the houseבֵּ֨יתbeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָ֜הye.hu.DahH3063and the tribeשֵׁ֣בֶטShe.vetH7626of Benjaminבִּנְיָמִ֗ןbin.ya.MinH1144,180,000מֵאָ֨ה וּשְׁמֹנִ֥ים אֶ֛לֶףme.'Ah u.she.mo.Nim 'E.lefH3967 H8084 H505chosenבָּח֖וּרba.ChurH977men who were warriorsמִלְחָמָ֑הmil.cha.MahH4421,to fightלְהִלָּחֵם֙le.hi.la.ChemH3898againstעִם־'im-H5973the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478to restoreלְהָשִׁיב֙le.ha.ShivH7725the kingdomהַמְּלוּכָ֔הha.me.lu.KhahH4410to Rehoboamלִרְחַבְעָ֖םlir.chav.'AmH7346the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Solomonשְׁלֹמֹֽה׃ פshe.lo.MohH8010.

22But the wordדְּבַ֣רde.VarH1697of Godהָֽאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430cameוַיְהִי֙vay.HiH1961toShemaiahשְׁמַעְיָ֥הshe.ma'.YahH8098the manאִישׁ־'ish-H376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

23“Speakאֱמֹ֗ר'e.MorH559to Rehoboamרְחַבְעָ֤םre.chav.'AmH7346the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Solomonשְׁלֹמֹה֙she.lo.MohH8010,kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063,and to allכָּל־kol-H3605the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063and Benjaminוּבִנְיָמִ֑יןu.vin.ya.MinH1144and to therestוְיֶ֥תֶרve.Ye.terH3499of the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

24‘Thusכֹּ֣הkohH3541saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֡הYah.wehH3068, “You must not goתַעֲלוּ֩ta.'a.LuH5927up and fightתִלָּ֨חֲמ֜וּןti.La.cha.MunH3898againstעִם־'im-H5973yourrelativesאֲחֵיכֶ֣ם'a.chei.KhemH251the sonsבְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478;returnשׁ֚וּבוּShu.vuH7725everyH376manH376to his houseלְבֵית֔וֹle.vei.ToH1004,for thisהַזֶּ֑הha.ZehH2088thingהַדָּבָ֣רha.da.VarH1697has comeנִהְיָ֖הnih.YahH1961from Me.”’” So they listenedוַיִּשְׁמְעוּ֙vai.yish.me.'UH8085to the wordדְּבַ֣רde.VarH1697of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,and returnedוַיָּשֻׁ֥בוּvai.ya.Shu.vuH7725and wentלָלֶ֖כֶתla.Le.khetH1980their wayaccording to the wordכִּדְבַ֥רkid.VarH1697of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃ סYah.wehH3068.

25ThenJeroboamיָרָבְעָ֧םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379builtוַיִּ֨בֶןvai.Yi.venH1129Shechemשְׁכֶ֛םshe.KhemH7927in the hillבְּהַ֥רbe.HarH2022countryH2022of Ephraimאֶפְרַ֖יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669,and livedוַיֵּ֣שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427there. And he wentוַיֵּצֵ֣אvai.ye.Tze'H3318out from thereמִשָּׁ֔םmi.ShamH8033and builtוַיִּ֖בֶןvai.Yi.venH1129Penuelפְּנוּאֵֽל׃pe.nu.'ElH6439.

26Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֖םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559in his heartבְּלִבּ֑וֹbe.li.BoH3820, “Nowעַתָּ֛ה'a.TahH6258the kingdomהַמַּמְלָכָ֖הha.mam.la.KhahH4467will returnתָּשׁ֥וּבta.ShuvH7725to the houseלְבֵ֥יתle.VeitH1004of Davidדָּוִֽד׃da.VidH1732.

27Ifאִֽם־'im-H518thisהַזֶּ֗הha.ZehH2088peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971goיַעֲלֶ֣ה׀ya.'a.LehH5927up to offerלַעֲשׂ֨וֹתla.'a.SotH6213sacrificesזְבָחִ֤יםze.va.ChimH2077in the houseבְּבֵית־be.veit-H1004of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068at Jerusalemבִּיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םbi.Ru.sha.LimH3389,then the heartלֵ֣בlevH3820of thisהַזֶּה֙ha.ZehH2088peopleהָעָ֤םha.'AmH5971will returnוְ֠שָׁבve.shoH7725to their lordאֲדֹ֣נֵיהֶ֔ם'a.Do.nei.HemH113, evento Rehoboamרְחַבְעָ֖םre.chav.'AmH7346kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063;and they will killוַהֲרָגֻ֕נִיva.ha.ra.Gu.niH2026me and returnוְשָׁ֖בוּve.Sha.vuH7725to Rehoboamרְחַבְעָ֥םre.chav.'AmH7346kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Judahיְהוּדָֽה׃ye.hu.DahH3063.”

28So the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428consultedוַיִּוָּעַ֣ץvai.yi.va.'AtzH3289, andmadeוַיַּ֕עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213twoשְׁנֵ֖יshe.NeiH8147goldenזָהָ֑בza.HavH2091calvesעֶגְלֵ֣י'eg.LeiH5695,and he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “It is tooH4480muchרַב־rav-H7227for you to goמֵעֲל֣וֹתme.'a.LotH5927up to Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֔םye.ru.sha.LimH3389;beholdהִנֵּ֤הhi.NehH2009your godsאֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙'e.lo.Hei.khaH430,O Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,that broughtהֶעֱל֖וּךָhe.'e.Lu.khaH5927you up from the landמֵאֶ֥רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרָֽיִם׃mitz.Ra.yimH4714.”

29He setוַיָּ֥שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760oneהָאֶחָ֖דha.'e.ChadH259inBethelH1008,and the otherהָאֶחָ֖דha.'e.ChadH259he putנָתַ֥ןna.TanH5414inDanבְּדָֽן׃be.DanH1835.

30Nowthisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088thingהַדָּבָ֥רha.da.VarH1697becameוַיְהִ֛יvay.HiH1961a sinלְחַטָּ֑אתle.cha.TatH2403,for the peopleהָעָ֛םha.'AmH5971wentוַיֵּלְכ֥וּvai.ye.le.KhuH1980to worshipbeforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the oneהָאֶחָ֖דha.'e.ChadH259as farעַד־'ad-H5704as Danדָּֽן׃DanH1835.

31Andhe madeוַיַּ֖עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213housesבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004on highבָּמ֑וֹתba.MotH1116placesH1116, andmadeוַיַּ֤עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213priestsכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ko.ha.NimH3548from amongallמִקְצ֣וֹתmik.TzotH7098the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971whoאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834were not of the sonsמִבְּנֵ֥יmi.be.NeiH1121of Leviלֵוִֽי׃le.ViH3878.
