Deuteronomy 31:9-30

9So MosesH4872 wroteH3789 thisH2088 LawH8451 and gaveH5414 it to the priestsH3548, the sonsH1121 of LeviH3878 1who carriedH5375 the arkH727 of the covenantH1285 of the LordH3068, and to allH3605 the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478. 10Then MosesH4872 commandedH6680 them, sayingH559, “At the endH7093 of every sevenH7651 yearsH8141, at the timeH4150 of 2the yearH8141 of the releaseH8059 of debtsH8059, at the 3FeastH2282 of BoothsH5521, 11when allH3605 IsraelH3478 comesH935 4to appearH7200 beforeH6440 the LordH3068 your GodH430 at 5the placeH4725 whichH834 He will chooseH977, 6you shall readH7121 thisH2088 LawH8451 beforeH5048 allH3605 IsraelH3478 7so that they hearH241 it. 12AssembleH6950 the peopleH5971, the menH376, the womenH802, the childrenH2945, and the strangerH1616 whoH834 is in your 8townH8179, soH4616 thatH4616 they may hearH8085 and 9learnH3925 and fearH3372 the LordH3068 your GodH430, and beH8104 carefulH8104 to 10followH6213 allH3605 the wordsH1697 of thisH2088 LawH8451. 13And their childrenH1121, whoH834 have not knownH3045, will hearH8085 and learnH3925 to fearH3372 the LordH3068 your GodH430, asH3605 H3117 longH3605 H3117 as you liveH2416 on the landH127 11whichH834 you are about to crossH5674 the JordanH3383 to 12possessH3423.”

14Then the LordH3068 saidH559 to MosesH4872, “BeholdH2005, 13 14the timeH3117 for you to dieH4191 is nearH7126; callH7121 JoshuaH3091 and presentH3320 yourselves at the tentH168 of meetingH4150, and I will commissionH6680 him.” 15So MosesH4872 and JoshuaH3091 wentH1980 and presentedH3320 themselves at the tentH168 of meetingH4150. 15 16And the LordH3068 appearedH7200 in the tentH168 in a pillarH5982 of cloudH6051, and the pillarH5982 of cloudH6051 stoodH5975 at the entranceH6607 of the tentH168. 16The LordH3068 saidH559 to MosesH4872, “BeholdH2009, 17you are about to 18lieH7901 downH7901 with your fathersH1; and 19thisH2088 peopleH5971 will ariseH6965 and playH2181 theH2181 prostituteH2181 with the foreignH5236 godsH430 of the landH776 into the midstH7130 of whichH834 they are goingH935, and 20they will abandonH5800 Me and breakH6565 My covenantH1285 whichH834 I have madeH3772 with them. 17 21Then My angerH639 will be kindledH2734 against them on that dayH3117, and 22I will abandonH5800 them and 23hideH5641 My faceH6440 from them, and they will be consumedH398, and manyH7227 evilsH7463 and troublesH6869 will findH4672 them; so they will sayH559 on that dayH3117, ‘24Is it not becauseH5921 H3588 our GodH430 is not amongH7130 us that theseH428 evilsH7463 have foundH4672 us?’ 18But I will assuredlyH5641 hideH5641 My faceH6440 on that dayH3117 becauseH5921 of allH3605 the evilH7463 that they will have doneH6213, for they will have turnedH6437 awayH6437 to otherH312 godsH430.

19“NowH6258 then, 25writeH3789 thisH2088 songH7892 for yourselves, and teachH3925 it to the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478; putH7760 it 26on their lipsH6310, soH4616 thatH4616 thisH2088 songH7892 may be a witnessH5707 for Me against the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478. 20 27For when I bringH935 them into the landH127 flowingH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706, whichH834 I sworeH7650 to their fathersH1, and they eatH398 and areH7646 satisfiedH7646 and 28becomeH1878 29prosperousH1878, then they will turnH6437 to otherH312 godsH430 and serveH5647 them, and spurnH5006 Me and breakH6565 My covenantH1285. 21Then it will comeH1961 aboutH1961, 30whenH3588 manyH7227 evilsH7463 and troublesH6869 findH4672 them, that thisH2088 songH7892 will testifyH6030 beforeH6440 them as a witnessH5707 (for it shall not be forgottenH7911 from the mouthH6310 of their 31descendantsH2233); for 32I knowH3045 their inclinationH3336 whichH834 they are 33developingH6213 todayH3117, beforeH2962 I bringH935 them into the landH776 whichH834 I sworeH7650.” 22 34So MosesH4872 wroteH3789 down thisH2088 songH7892 on the sameH1931 dayH3117, and taughtH3925 it to the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478.

23 35Then He commissionedH6680 JoshuaH3091 the sonH1121 of NunH5126, and saidH559, “36Be strongH2388 and courageousH553, for you will bringH935 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 into the landH776 whichH834 I sworeH7650 to them, and 37I will be with you.”

24It cameH1961 aboutH1961, when MosesH4872 finishedH3615 writingH3789 the wordsH1697 of thisH2088 LawH8451 in a bookH5612 untilH5704 they wereH8552 completeH8552, 25that MosesH4872 commandedH6680 the LevitesH3881 38who carriedH5375 the arkH727 of the covenantH1285 of the LordH3068, sayingH559, 26“TakeH3947 thisH2088 BookH5612 of the LawH8451 and placeH7760 it besideH4480 H6654 the arkH727 of the covenantH1285 of the LordH3068 your GodH430, so that it may 39remainH1961 thereH8033 as a witnessH5707 against you. 27For I knowH3045 40your rebellionH4805 and 41your 42stubbornnessH7186 H6203; beholdH2005, as longH5750 as I have been aliveH2416 with you until todayH3117, you have beenH1961 rebelliousH4784 againstH5973 the LordH3068; howH637 muchH637 H3588 moreH637 H3588, then, afterH310 my deathH4194? 28AssembleH6950 to me allH3605 the eldersH2205 of your tribesH7626 and your officersH7860, that I may speakH1696 theseH428 wordsH1697 in their hearingH241 and 43callH5749 the heavensH8064 and the earthH776 asH5749 witnessesH5749 against them. 29For I knowH3045 that afterH310 my deathH4194 you will 44behaveH7843 veryH7843 corruptlyH7843 and turnH5493 from the wayH1870 whichH834 I have commandedH6680 you; and evilH7463 will confrontH7122 you in the latterH319 daysH3117, becauseH3588 you will doH6213 that whichH7451 isH7451 evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LordH3068, provokingH3707 Him toH3707 angerH3707 with the workH4639 of your handsH3027.”
