26“1So I sentH7971 messengersH4397 from the wildernessH4057 of KedemothH6932 to SihonH5511 kingH4428 of HeshbonH2809 with wordsH1697 of peaceH7965, sayingH559, 27‘Let me passH5674 through your landH776; I will 2travelH1980 only on the roadH1870. I will not turnH5493 asideH5493 to the rightH3225 or to the leftH8040. 28You will sellH7666 me foodH400 for moneyH3701 so that I may eatH398, and giveH5414 me waterH4325 for moneyH3701 so that I may drinkH8354, 3onlyH7534 let me passH5674 throughH5674 on 4footH7272, 29justH3512 asH3512 the sonsH1121 of EsauH6215 who liveH3427 in SeirH8165 and the MoabitesH4125 who liveH3427 in 5ArH6144 didH6213 for me, untilH5704H834 I crossH5674 overH5674 the JordanH3383 into the landH776 that the LordH3068 our GodH430 is givingH5414 us.’ 30But 6SihonH5511 kingH4428 of HeshbonH2809 wasH14 not willingH14 for us to passH5674 7through his land; for the 8LordH3068 your GodH430 hardenedH7185 his spiritH7307 and madeH553 his heartH3824 obstinateH553, inH4616 orderH4616 toH4616 handH3027H5414 him overH5414 to you, as he is todayH2088H3117. 31And the LordH3068 saidH559 to me, ‘SeeH7200, I have begunH2490 to turnH5414 SihonH5511 and his landH776 overH5414 9to you. BeginH2490 takingH3423 possessionH3423, so that you may possessH3423 his landH776.’
32“Then SihonH5511 cameH3318 outH3318 10with allH3605 his peopleH5971 to meetH7122 us in battleH4421 at JahazH3096. 33And 11the LordH3068 our GodH430 turnedH5414 him overH5414 12to us, and we 1314defeatedH5221 him with his sonsH1121 and allH3605 his peopleH5971. 34So we capturedH3920 allH3605 his citiesH5892 at that timeH6256 and 1516utterlyH2763 destroyedH2763 17the menH4962, womenH802, and childrenH2945 of everyH3605 cityH5892. We leftH7604 noH3808 survivorH8300. 35We tookH962 18onlyH7534 the animalsH929 as our plunderH962, and the spoilsH7998 of the citiesH5892 whichH834 we had capturedH3920.
