1 Kings 17:12-24
12But she saidH559, “1As the LordH3068 your GodH430 livesH2416, 2I haveH3426 noH518 foodH4580, onlyH3588H518 a handfulH4393H3709 of flourH7058 in the 3bowlH3537 and a littleH4592 oilH8081 in the jarH6835; and beholdH2009, I am gatheringH7197 4a fewH8147 sticksH6086 so that I may goH935 inH935 and prepareH6213 it for me and my sonH1121, so that we may 5eatH398 it and 6dieH4191.” 13However, ElijahH452 saidH559 to her, “Do not fearH3372; goH935, doH6213 as you have saidH1697. JustH389 makeH6213 me a littleH6996 breadH5692 loafH5692 from 7it firstH7223 and bringH3318 it outH3318 to me, and afterwardH314 you may makeH6213 one for yourself and for your sonH1121. 14For thisH3541 isH3541 whatH3541 the LordH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478 saysH559: ‘The 8bowlH3537 of flourH7058 shall not be usedH3615 upH3615, norH3808 shall the jarH6835 of oilH8081 becomeH2637 emptyH2637, untilH5704 the dayH3117 that the LordH3068 providesH5414 rainH1653 on the faceH6440 of the earthH127.’” 15So she wentH1980 and didH6213 everything in accordance with the wordH1697 of ElijahH452, and she and he and her householdH1004 ateH398 for many daysH3117. 16The 9bowlH3537 of flourH7058 was not usedH3615 upH3615, norH3808 did the jarH6835 of oilH8081 becomeH2637 emptyH2637, in accordance with the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 whichH834 He spokeH1696 throughH3027 ElijahH452.
17Now it happenedH1961 afterH310 theseH428 thingsH1697 that the sonH1121 of the womanH802, the mistressH1172 of the houseH1004, becameH2470 sickH2470; and his 10conditionH2483 becameH1961 veryH3966 graveH2389, untilH5704 at the end 11he wasH3498 noH3808 longerH3498 breathingH5397. 18So she saidH559 to ElijahH452, “1213WhyH4100 is my business any of yours, you 14manH376 of GodH430? Yet you have comeH935 to me to bringH2142 my wrongdoingH5771 toH2142 remembranceH2142, and to putH4191 my sonH1121 toH4191 deathH4191!” 19But he saidH559 to her, “GiveH5414 me your sonH1121.” Then he tookH3947 him from her 15armsH2436 and carriedH5927 him upH5927 to the upstairsH5944 roomH5944 whereH834H8033 he was livingH3427, and laidH7901 him on his own bedH4296. 20And he calledH7121 to the LordH3068 and saidH559, “LordH3068, my GodH430, have You alsoH1571 broughtH7489 catastropheH7489 upon the widowH490 with whomH834 I am 16stayingH1481, by causing her sonH1121 to dieH4191?” 2117Then he stretchedH4058 himself outH4058 overH5921 the boyH3206 threeH7969 timesH6471, and calledH7121 to the LordH3068 and saidH559, “LordH3068, my GodH430, pleaseH4994, let thisH2088 boy’sH3206 lifeH5315 returnH7725 18to him.” 22And the LordH3068 listenedH8085 to the voiceH6963 of ElijahH452, 19and the lifeH5315 of the boyH3206 returnedH7725 20to him and he revivedH2421. 23ElijahH452 then tookH3947 the boyH3206 and broughtH3381 him downH3381 from the upstairsH5944 roomH5944 into the houseH1004 and gaveH5414 him to his motherH517; and ElijahH452 saidH559, “SeeH7200, your sonH1121 is aliveH2416.” 24Then the womanH802 saidH559 to ElijahH452, “21NowH6258 I knowH3045 that you are a manH376 of GodH430, and that the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 in your mouthH6310 is truthH571.”
