2The morethey calledקָרְא֖וּka.re.'UH7121them,The moreכֵּ֚ןkenH3651they wentהָלְכ֣וּha.le.KhuH1980awayH4480from them; They keptsacrificingיְזַבֵּ֔חוּye.za.Be.chuH2076to the Baalsלַבְּעָלִ֣יםla.be.'a.LimH1168AndburningH6999incenseH6999to idolsוְלַפְּסִלִ֖יםve.la.pe.si.LimH6456.

3Yet it is I who taughtH7270Ephraimלְאֶפְרַ֔יִםle.'ef.Ra.yimH669toH7270walkH7270, Itookקָחָ֖םka.ChamH3947them in My armsזְרֽוֹעֹתָ֑יוze.ro.'o.TavH2220;But they did not knowיָדְע֖וּya.de.'UH3045that Ihealedרְפָאתִֽים׃re.fa.TimH7495them.

4IpulledH4900them alongH4900with cordsבְּחַבְלֵ֨יbe.chav.LeiH2256of a manאָדָ֤ם'a.DamH120,with ropesבַּעֲבֹת֣וֹתba.'a.vo.TotH5688of loveאַהֲבָ֔ה'a.ha.VahH160, AndI becameוָאֶהְיֶ֥הva.'eh.YehH1961to them as one who liftsכִּמְרִ֥ימֵיkim.Ri.meiH7311the yokeעֹ֖ל'olH5923from their jawsלְחֵיהֶ֑םle.chei.HemH3895;And I bentH5186downH5186andfedאוֹכִֽיל׃'o.KhilH398them.

5They will not returnיָשׁוּב֙ya.ShuvH7725to the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714;But Assyriaוְאַשּׁ֖וּרve.'a.ShurH804--he will betheir kingמַלְכּ֑וֹmal.KoH4428Becauseכִּ֥יkiH3588theyrefusedמֵאֲנ֖וּme.'a.NuH3985to returnלָשֽׁוּב׃la.ShuvH7725to Me.

6And theswordחֶ֙רֶב֙che.revH2719will whirlוְחָלָ֥הve.cha.LahH2342againsttheir citiesבְּעָרָ֔יוbe.'a.RavH5892,And will destroyH3615their oracleH907priestsH907AndconsumeH3615them,becauseH4480of theircounselsמִֽמֹּעֲצ֖וֹתֵיהֶֽם׃mi.mo.'a.Tzo.tei.HemH4156.

7So My peopleוְעַמִּ֥יve.'a.MiH5971are determinedתְלוּאִ֖יםte.lu.'ImH8511toturnלִמְשֽׁוּבָתִ֑יlim.shu.va.TiH4878from Me. Thoughthey callיִקְרָאֻ֔הוּyik.ra.'U.huH7121them to the Oneon highעַל֙'alH5920,Noneלֹ֥אlo'H3808atH3162allH3162exaltsיְרוֹמֵם׃ye.ro.memH7311Him.

8Howאֵ֞יךְ'eikhH349can I giveאֶתֶּנְךָ֣'e.ten.KhaH5414you upH5414,Ephraimאֶפְרַ֗יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669? Howcan I surrenderאֲמַגֶּנְךָ֙'a.ma.gen.KhaH4042you, Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478?Howאֵ֚יךְ'eikhH349can Imakeאֶתֶּנְךָ֣'e.ten.KhaH5414you likeAdmahכְאַדְמָ֔הkhe.'ad.MahH126? Howcan I treatאֲשִֽׂימְךָ֖'a.si.me.KhaH7760you likeZeboiimכִּצְבֹאיִ֑םkitz.vo.YimH6636?My heartלִבִּ֔יli.BiH3820is turnedH2015overH2015withinעָלַי֙'a.LaiH5921Me,Allיַ֖חַדYa.chadH3162My compassionsנִחוּמָֽי׃ni.chu.MaiH5150are kindledנִכְמְר֥וּnikh.me.RuH3648.

9I willnot carryH6213outH6213My fierceחֲר֣וֹןcha.RonH2740angerאַפִּ֔י'a.PiH639;I will not destroyלְשַׁחֵ֣תle.sha.ChetH7843Ephraimאֶפְרָ֑יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669againאָשׁ֖וּב'a.ShuvH7725. ForI am Godאֵ֤ל'elH410and not a manאִ֔ישׁ'IshH376, theHolyקָד֔וֹשׁka.Do.oshH6918OneH6918in your midstבְּקִרְבְּךָ֣be.kir.be.ChaH7130,And I will not comeאָב֖וֹא'a.Vo'H935inwrathבְּעִֽיר׃be.'IrH5892.

10They willwalkיֵלְכ֖וּye.le.KhuH1980afterאַחֲרֵ֧י'a.cha.ReiH310the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068, He willroarיִשְׁאָ֑גyish.'AgH7580like a lionH743;Indeedכִּֽי־ki-H3588He will roarיִשְׁאַ֔גyish.'AgH7580, And Hissonsבָנִ֖יםva.NimH1121will comeH2729tremblingוְיֶחֶרְד֥וּve.ye.cher.DuH2729from the westמִיָּֽם׃mi.YamH3220.

11They will comeH2729tremblingיֶחֶרְד֤וּye.cher.DuH2729like birdsכְצִפּוֹר֙khe.tzi.pOrH6833fromEgyptמִמִּצְרַ֔יִםmi.mitz.Ra.yimH4714, And likedovesוּכְיוֹנָ֖הu.khe.yo.NahH3123from the landמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776ofAssyriaאַשּׁ֑וּר'a.ShurH804; And I willsettleוְהוֹשַׁבְתִּ֥יםve.ho.shav.TimH3427them in their housesבָּתֵּיהֶ֖םba.tei.HemH1004,declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָֽה׃ סYah.wehH3068.
