18ThenAsaאָ֠סָא'A.sa'H609tookוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947allכָּל־kol-H3605the silverהַכֶּ֨סֶףha.Ke.sefH3701and the goldוְהַזָּהָ֜בve.ha.za.HavH2091that was leftהַֽנּוֹתָרִ֣ים׀ha.no.ta.RimH3498in the treasuriesבְּאוֹצְר֣וֹתbe.'otz.RotH214of the houseבֵּית־beit-H1004of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068and the treasuriesאֽוֹצְרוֹת֙'otz.rOtH214of the king’sהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004,and handedבְּיַד־be.yad-H5414 H3027it overH5414to his servantsעֲבָדָ֑יו'a.va.DavH5650. AndKingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Asaאָסָ֗א'a.Sa'H609sentוַיִּשְׁלָחֵ֞םvai.yish.la.ChemH7971them to Ben-hadadH1130the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Tabrimmonטַבְרִמֹּ֤ןtav.ri.MonH2886,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Hezionחֶזְיוֹן֙chez.yOnH2383,kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Aramאֲרָ֔ם'a.RamH758,who livedהַיֹּשֵׁ֥בhai.yo.ShevH3427inDamascusבְּדַמֶּ֖שֶׂקbe.da.Me.sekH1834,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

19“Let’s make atreatyבְּרִית֙be.RitH1285betweenH996you and me, as there wasbetweenH996my fatherאָבִ֖י'a.ViH1and your fatherאָבִ֑יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1.Beholdהִנֵּה֩hi.NehH2009,I have sentשָׁלַ֨חְתִּֽיsha.Lach.tiH7971you a giftשֹׁ֙חַד֙sho.chadH7810of silverכֶּ֣סֶףKe.sefH3701and goldוְזָהָ֔בve.za.HavH2091;goלֵ֣ךְlekhH1980,breakהָפֵ֗רָהha.Fe.rahH6565your treatyבְּרִֽיתְךָ֙be.ri.te.KhaH1285with Baashaבַּעְשָׁ֣אba'.Sha'H1201kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478so that he will withdrawוְיַעֲלֶ֖הve.ya.'a.LehH5927from me.”

20So Ben-hadadH1130listenedוַיִּשְׁמַ֨עvai.yish.Ma'H8085to Kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Asaאָסָ֗א'a.Sa'H609and sentוַ֠יִּשְׁלַחVai.yish.lachH7971the commandersשָׂרֵ֨יsa.ReiH8269of his armiesהַחֲיָלִ֤יםha.cha.ya.LimH2428againstעַל־'al-H5921the citiesעָרֵ֣י'a.ReiH5892of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478, andconqueredוַיַּךְ֙vai.yaKhH5221Ijonעִיּ֣וֹןi.YonH5859,Danדָּ֔ןDanH1835,Abel-beth-maacahH62,and allכָּל־kol-H3605Chinnerothכִּנְר֔וֹתkin.RotH3672,besidesעַ֖ל'alH5921allכָּל־kol-H3605the landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776of Naphtaliנַפְתָּלִֽי׃naf.ta.LiH5321.

21When Baashaבַּעְשָׁ֔אba'.Sha'H1201heardכִּשְׁמֹ֣עַkish.Mo.a'H8085about it,he stoppedוַיֶּחְדַּ֕לvai.yech.DalH2308fortifyingמִבְּנ֖וֹתmi.be.NotH1129Ramahהָֽרָמָ֑הha.ra.MahH7414and remainedוַיֵּ֖שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427inTirzahבְּתִרְצָֽה׃be.tir.TzahH8656.

22Then Kingוְהַמֶּ֨לֶךְve.ha.Me.lekhH4428Asaאָסָ֜א'a.Sa'H609madeH8085aH8085proclamationH8085to allכָּל־kol-H3605Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063--noH369oneH369was exemptנָקִ֔יna.KiH5355--and they carriedוַיִּשְׂא֞וּvai.yis.'UH5375away the stonesאַבְנֵ֤י'av.NeiH68of Ramahהָֽרָמָה֙ha.ra.MahH7414and its timberעֵצֶ֔יהָ'e.Tzei.haH6086with whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834Baashaבַּעְשָׁ֑אba'.Sha'H1201had builtבָּנָ֖הba.NahH1129fortifications.And Kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Asaאָסָ֔א'a.Sa'H609builtוַיִּ֤בֶןvai.Yi.venH1129with themGebaגֶּ֥בַעGe.va'H1387of Benjaminבִּנְיָמִ֖ןbin.ya.MinH1144and Mizpahהַמִּצְפָּֽה׃ha.mitz.PahH4709.
