Revelation 1:10-20

10I was 1in the 2Spirit on 3the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice 4like the sound of a trumpet, 11saying, “5Write 6on a scroll what you see, and send it to the 7seven churches: to 8Ephesus, 9Smyrna, 10Pergamum, 11Thyatira, 12Sardis, 13Philadelphia, and 14Laodicea.”

12Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And after turning I saw 15seven golden lampstands; 13and 16in the middle of the lampstands I saw one 17like 18a son of man, 19clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and 20wrapped around the chest with a golden sash. 14His head and His 21hair were white like white wool, like snow; and 22His eyes were like a flame of fire. 15His 23feet were like 24burnished bronze when it has been heated to a glow in a furnace, and His 25voice was like the sound of many waters. 16In His right hand He held 26seven stars, and out of His mouth came a 27sharp two-edged sword; and His 28face was like 29the sun 30shining in its strength.

17When I saw Him, I 31fell at His feet like a dead man. And He 32placed His right hand on me, saying, “33Do not be afraid; 34I am the first and the last, 18and the 35living One; and I 36 37was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have 38the keys of death and of Hades. 19Therefore 39write 40the things which you have seen, 41and the things which are, and the things which will take place 42after these things. 20As for the 43mystery of the 44seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the 45seven golden lampstands: the 46seven stars are the angels of 47the seven churches, and the seven 48lampstands are the seven churches.
